Honey GLITched: Blake
[It doesn't take long for them to get on board and settle in, trying their best to dry off with the towels stuffed in the cupboards as neither brought a spare outfit. They would have laughed to realize just how much they underestimated the day’s adventure, but neither of them seemed much in the mood. Honey tried her best to explain her little misadventures until Blake came to sit down with two cups of hot tea.]
Blake:
It’s nothing special, but it should warm you up.
Honey:
Oh, thank you. [Gently takes if from him to pull into her blanket of a beach towel. She doesn't drink right away, but enjoys the warmth as she watches the tiny bubbles disappear from the surface.]
Blake:
Honey? [She looks up at him rather nervously, but he holds up a Teddiursa bottle with a half-playful shake.] Sorry, I should specify. Do you like honey?
Honey:
[Just softly smiles at him as she takes the bottle.] Thank you. Is that…all you wanted to say?
Blake:
No, I’m still thinking I suppose. [Takes up his own cup and leans back in the seat to look at her.] So, let me see if I have this right. The day you received your Starter, you somehow managed to Teleport to some alternate universe? And ever since you returned, you’ve been able to freeze time and walk through things?
Honey:
Not exactly... I don't think I have any control over it, it just sort of happens. Luke didn't exactly explain anything except that now that I’ve been to his world, these “slips” from our reality are going to keep happening until I find the source.
Blake:
But how did this even start? And why?
Honey:
[Just softly shakes her head.] I don’t know. I wish I could tell you, but we’re learning as things we go right now. I haven’t told anyone about all this, because you’re the first person to even notice one of these weird incidents besides me. You have every right to be scared. I’ve had this happen several times now and I still freak out.
Blake:
I’m not freaking out! [She gives him a look of disbelief. Ahem.] I’m just trying to assess this new situation like a logical adult. I own a Darkrai, remember? I… [cuts himself before explaining as the details don’t matter.] I’ve seen worse.
Honey:
Yours doesn’t sound like it was that bad yet either. Yet. [Glances down at her cup, her reflection quite muted in the brown liquid.] That’s what scares me. I didn’t want to tell you the truth, but if you’re like me now, then this probably isn’t going away. And to think that once we split up, you’d be alone and scared while the world falls apart around you, and no explanation why? I couldn’t do that to you. [tightens her grip on the glass as tiny ripples form from her shaking.] But you said it only started with the ship, and I can’t stop thinking that I did this to you! I didn’t mean to drag you into this. I just saw you frozen, and I panicked, and… and…
Blake:
I didn’t mean to give you the impression I was blaming you for all this. Remember, you told me earlier that things got strange only after I left you, and even if only joking, I suppose it goes both ways. Shortly after you left, I felt a little strange, a little… out of sorts. At first, I thought I could chalk it up to the reality of the crash finally setting in. Then I tried to convince myself to go after you. I struggled to do something, anything, but it slowly dawned on me I wasn't in control of myself at all! That was when I started to panic. [He hesitates a moment as though reliving the memory.] I’ve never felt so vulnerable in my whole life… But then, it was almost as if you knew because you suddenly appeared to me like a vision! I thought, even if it was just a figment of my imagination, I could take it that you were in trouble. And suddenly I found I could move again! But… that's when everything stopped making sense. The spikes, the lightning... I tried to call you and there was no signal. I went to the Pokémon Center to ask for help, but they talked like I wasn't even there! I started to think I was suffering a Bad Dream and perhaps if I went back to the boat, it would all go away. It took some time, but it eventually did. [A weak but genuine smile for once.] If anything I feel you must have rescued me back there. I’m just relieved to know it was real.
Honey:
[Just staring at him as he explains. She’d be lying if she said it didn’t help ease her conscious, but she can’t help but question what a very strange young man he was.] You’re taking this bizarrely well.
Blake:
[Glances away.] To be honest, I’ve heard… rumors. I’ve been fighting Team Fusion far longer than you have, after all. People have said they’ve invested in researching parallel worlds. Ludicrous, of course, but if what your friend from the other side said is true, we may be suffering some side effects of their results. [Clenches his fists with determination.] The joke is on them though, since it seems we can use that same power to stop them!
Honey:
[While it sounds like he’s happy about it, the story just leaves her all the more worried about him.] Please, no! We still don’t know how afflicted you are yet. Michael said if I was caught meddling again, he knew how to end me! If he finds out you’re aware of it when he already hates you, who knows what they’ll do to you next time!
Blake:
Who?
Honey:
Team Fusion. Michael is apparently their leader, and after seeing what he’s willing to do to his own people, I just can’t have you getting involved. Every time these “slips” have happened it’s been either before or after encountering Team Fusion, so I’m starting to think that’s what Luke wants me to do. I have to be the one to do this though.
Blake:
Says who? Honey, I told you before how I, an experienced leader, shouldn’t be trying to face them alone. You think I’ll stand by while you put yourself in danger? That’s why I wanted to join the League was so I could protect people like you. I may not be that old, but when you’ve spent half your life fighting for something, you don’t give it up at the first threat. When we get back home, I’ll be sure to alert the others immediately. [Rises from his seat to go start the boat.]
Honey:
And what good will that do? We’ve no evidence, and we’re still not sure if that’s really what’s happening right now anyway. Even if they believe you, they won’t be any help if Team Fusion knows how to freeze people. Or worse…
Blake:
[Comes to a stop on that note, and turns back to her] ….. You make a fair observation. [Comes back to sit next to her.] Can you at least let me help you? I may not get to be the hero of this story, but I can still support you. [He can see she’s trying to hold herself back, and tries to give her a warm, confident smile.] I’ll play the fool, if need be. Pretend I don’t know anything, maybe serve as a glorified distraction for you to get in. We’ll… We’ll figure something out, alright? Just because you ”have to” be the one to do this doesn’t mean you have to face it alone. Let me come?
Honey:
[As well as she’d been holding up the past… however much time had really passed since they got trapped in that place, there’s such a wave of relief to hear someone say that, and she immediately pulls him into a hug. Softly as she could just about cry at not being alone in this.] Thank you. I’m still so sorry about all this.
Blake:
[Every muscle in his body tenses up as she grabs him and he seems to cringe as he gently pushes her back.]
Honey:
[Slight sniffle as she looks up at him in dismay at his reaction.] Oh! I’m sorry about that too, I should warn you I get very affectionate when-
Blake:
[Still tense, but tries to give her a grin that it’s perfectly alright.] That’s not it at all. You just poured tea... all down my back.
Honey:
…! [Lets go of him to realize she never did actually drink her tea, and looks down at the now empty tea cup in hand. Flushes a deep red with the embarrassment as she slowly pulls her towel over her face.]
Blake:
It’s alright, I’ve spent most of the day soaked anyway. [gets back up from the seat and grabs another towel to toss over the wet cushion] I’ll just get changed when we get back home. Are you ready to leave?
Honey:
[Peeks out] Are you okay to drive?
Blake:
I’m more than well enough to steer us off of this gods’ forsaken place. Though I’m more worried the boat won't hold up if we wait.
Honey:
Oh! Right. Then let's go home.
=+=
[As they docked the boat back at Serenity Island, it was hard for the nearby fishermen to not curiously eye the state of it. Honey sees a few onlookers from her window and moves over to where she can talk more quietly to Blake as they prepare to get out.]
Honey:
[In fact, she recognizes some of those fishermen and wonders if they're just really hardcore or if her and Blake had only been gone a few hours.] You know, with how everything keeps freezing, I’m starting to think time moves differently for us when that happens.
Blake:
What do you mean?
Honey:
Well, the first time I had a bad “slip,” my mom said I’d only just left the house. And even after the Milkshake Ruins, I was still home before dark. It's been really strange.
Blake:
Heh, and will only get stranger, I’m sure. I suppose then you're parents haven't started looking for you yet?
Honey:
No, but I’m not sure how long it takes to repair a boat. You might have some people asking what you did…
Blake:
Ah yes. [Pauses to help her step over the gap to the dock.] I hate to bring this up, but I’m afraid this is where we’ll need to part for now. I need to get this thing to the repair shop as soon as possible, else he might try to say it’s my fault for letting it get this way. What do you plan to do now?
Honey:
Hmm… I’m not sure yet. The professor asked me to run another errand for him in Seaspray Town, but I think I’m going to just call home and stay here in Serenity for a bit.
Blake:
Then, if you’re planning to stay here in town for a bit, you might as well check out the Fusion Resort.
Honey:
[Hmph, you’re just tempting fate now.] What for?
Blake:
[The look she’s giving him serves as a reminder he’s not supposed to talk to her about the matter in public. Smiles.] Oh, nothing. I just thought you might like to have a look. They only opened the place a few months ago, so even I haven’t been inside yet. Of course, if you’re not staying the night, you’ll be needing this.
Honey:
[A SEASPRAYTIX!] Are you sure?
Blake:
Consider it a present for coming with me today. Don’t worry, I won’t be sailing for a few days, and you’ll head that way before I do. I’ll get another eventually.
Honey:
[Just shakes her head at him.] Are all of the Elite Four so generous?
Blake:
[He doesn’t answer, but just sort of chuckles to himself as he turns back to the boat.] I’ll be sure to get in touch with you.
Honey:
Thank you! Oh, and Blake? [He pauses in the doorway to look back at her. She just gives him a smile and adds on warmly] It was nice meeting you. The real you.
Blake:
[Just gives a soft laugh as he unfortunately knew she was right.] Take care, Honey.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blake joined the Party~! At least these two have a chance to get everything sorted out before splitting up, because by gosh it'll only get stranger from here. Good luck, you two.
Whoohoo! Made it through the arc~!
Honey GLITched: The Grand Illusionist
Sap:
[Staring up at one of the odd green spires that's blocking the path.] Do you think we can trust him?
Honey:
[Thoughtfully] No. But it’s either this or go all the way back down the mountain to see if Blake is still frozen. We might as well keep going.
Sap:
[nods in understanding.] It just feels too easy.
Honey:
[Snickers and looks down at him in amusement.] I think you're just over leveled. But that’s good, right?
Sap:
I suppose.... [Looks up at her with uncertainty] You sure have a lot of faith in me, don’t you?
Honey:
[Hmmm… that was putting it lightly. She hated putting the pressure on him, but with the rest of their teammates already in no condition to battle, he really was all she had left. Kneels down beside him.] Of course I do. I know it’s a lot to think about, but I trust you more than anyone else I’ve met since we left home. We’re partners, right? We depend on each other. [A bit more somberly as she knows what she’s asking of him at a time like this.] I guess it’s not fair to you though…
Sap:
Nonsense! I just… I hate disappointing you. And whatever they have cooking in there….
Honey:
[Smiles at him. She knows how he’s been trying to evolve, maybe even for her, but he’ll come around when he’s ready.] I’m sure you’ll be great. Win or lose, we’re in this together, alright? [wraps her arms around his neck to give him a hug.]
Sap:
Thanks. [Looks to the cave exit just in front of them, the illusion flickering out of existence in the Delusifier’s presence.] Let’s do this!
=+=
[Honey wasn't sure if it she'd just gone numb from being in the caves, or if she was so far gone that the rain fazed right through her, but she didn't feel anything as she stood at the foot of the ruins. Blake had said that Team Fusion would likely be found at the ruins of Haunted Isle, but to actually see those stone pillars suddenly filled her with dread. Would there be another gateway here? Even if she did slip through again, it would still be better than being trapped in this half-way state, right? Right. Without saying another word, she firmly stepped up the stairs to where she could see the three Fusion members scouting the area.]
???:
[The middle man pauses at the back of the ruins, and gives a snap to catch the other’s attention.] We have an intruder…. [They all turn to look at the girl rather warily. Honey stops in her tracks to realize that this member is somehow different from any of the others she’s seen. The nice orange suit certainly makes him look of a much higher rank compared to the workmen. He gives a friendly grin at seeing this meek little mouse of a trainer, but the expression comes off rather sinister.] Ohohoho, well aren’t you a curious little thing? Are you lost, sweetheart? Just passing through?
Honey:
[There’s something in that tone that thoroughly digs into her core and she’s suddenly shaking under the man’s greedy gaze. She wants to say something, but it just doesn’t want to come out. He knows why she’s there. She tries to keep her stance as she holds up Sap’s Poke Ball to challenge them.]
???:
As I thought. I don’t know who you are, but I have no time to be meddling with kids right now. Grunts!
Both Grunts:
[In perfect sync, with almost mechanical precision] Yes, sir?
???:
I’m surprised you made it this far, but no matter. Sweethearts don’t last long in combat. Destroy her!
Grunts:
[Honey takes a step back with a slight gasp as the pair descend on her. Again in perfect sync] With pleasure, sir!
[As they try to flank her on both sides, Honey, for once thankful, slipped right out of their grasp and staggered back to where she could let out Sap. The disgruntled pair let out their own Pokemon, a Magmar and an Electabuzz! Due to the rain, or perhaps in spite of it, the towering brutes seemed they were little to no match for Sap’s fierce defense of his trainer. A flurry of leaves nearly knocked out the Magmar before the fiery Pokemon got in one good hit. The Electabuzz found itself almost at a loss for what to do as those same leaves cut through him. Sap was hurt… but he was still okay. The Grotle remained out as he stared down the now unarmed individuals with intensity.]
???:
[He watched that battle and still doesn’t believe it.] WHAT?! Fools! [marching down the steps in a fury] Can I not entrust you with the simple task of handling a mere child?! I’ll just have to do it myself! [The man and woman automatically back away as their leader motions for them to get out of his way. Before he even reaches the level where they’re at, he tosses down a Poke Ball to release a Zoroark.] I, Michael of Team Fusion, shall bring an end to you!
Sap:
[Is honestly intimidated by this thing, but gives a loud croak at it nonetheless] So you’re the ones behind all this?
Zoroark:
[Just snickers] Behind what exactly? I only do what my master tells me, and right now YOU have picked the wrong team to mess with! [The black fox lunges at him with claws of fury, tearing at his branches to get to the soft core underneath.]
Sap:
[Oh really now? As the battle gets underway, he proves that he really can be a jerk if he really wants to, and the battle is almost a joke as he tries to heal himself off of the easy opponent. The Zoroark was dismayed to find it only pulling handfuls of leaves before getting bucked off, and at last his opponent tried to take a stab to find his shell nearly hard as punching clay. Sap knows he shouldn’t get too confident though when they had no idea how many more teammates were left. Snorts at the fallen Zoroark.] Now what have you creeps done to Honey?!
Zoroark:
[Wheeze… wheeze...] IN OL if I know… I’m just… just his little helper… [Despite claiming to not know anything, there’s still that sharp, cocky grin as he gets recalled to his Poke Ball.]
Honey:
[Is pretty sure the Zoroark wasn’t aware she could hear that, but it’s not like he gave much information anyway. Glares at Michael with a huff.] Now, I want some answers!
Michael:
Tch, you may have won this battle, but I don’t owe you a thing! We got enough information to make this trip worthwhile, so I’ll be taking my leave. I give you fair warning this time, little pest. If you ever get in my way again, I’ll end you so fast, you won’t know what hit you!
[As the three Fusion members charge passed, she merely steps out of their way and watches them leave. She doesn’t have the nerve to pursue them, but shortly after they left, she can feel the rain starting to seep through her clothes once more. Curious, she starts to walk over to where they’d been studying to see if she can find any of this “information” they obtained.]
Honey:
[She feels a slight rumble as she places her hand on the wall, and freezes in slight terror. … Nothing happens, but even when she removes her hand, she can still feel something buzzing at her side.]
Sap:
What is it? Is something wrong?
Honey:
… Oh! My phone is ringing! [Frantically tries to get it out of her purse] H-h-hello?
Blake:
Honey, can you hear me? Where are you?
Honey:
Blake? [Heaves a HUGE sigh of relief as she takes the phone gingerly in both hands and caresses it to her ear] Oh thank goodness! You have no idea how happy I am to hear from you. I’m up by the ruins right now.
Blake:
And Team Fusion?
Honey:
Um... well… They’re gone. [She hears a sigh on the other end and assumes the worse] I’m sorry, I should have stopped them, but I don’t have the training or the authority or even know how-
Blake:
But are YOU okay?
Honey:
[She pauses to wonder about that, but if Team Fusion is gone, the Pikachu is gone, the world isn’t on fire, and Blake is able to speak to her, then yes it did seem she was. Smiles up at the rain as the thunder gives a low roar to her.] Yeah, I’m okay. I’m feeling great now.
Blake:
Good, that’s all that matters. Why don’t you come on down? I’ve managed to patch up the boat to the best of my abilities.
Honey:
I’ll be there as quick as I can! [hangs up] You hear that, Sap? We can finally leave this island~!
=+=
Blake:
[There’s a nervousness to his smile when he sees her come out of the cave] Honey! Perfect timing. I think I’ve got her up and running well enough to get us back to port.
Honey:
That’s wonderful! After all this, I just want to go home and sleep for the next week.
Blake:
You did spectacular. If it weren’t for you, I don’t know what might have happened. [He can see how she blushes at the compliment, but it’s kind of cute as she looks more proud than embarrassed. His heart sinks as he hesitates to ask since she seems to be in such a good mood.] But… I would like to talk to you about that.
Honey:
About Team Fusion? Of course! I’ll try to explain everything on the way! [As eager as she is to board the boat, she looks up at him in surprise as he grabs her by her upper arm to stop her from moving passed him just yet.]
Blake:
This isn’t about them. [Is looking almost pale compared to how he usually did, which was a feat in itself after all the work he’d been doing.] Before we left port, you said you were prepared for something I wasn’t. If you know what’s going on, then please… What happened to me?
Honey:
[Hesitates as they stand there in the rain, her mind running blank from fear and exhaustion. Very softly.] I don't know. You’ll have to be more specific.
Blake:
Alright. [Straightens up a bit as he tries to explain in a calm, authoritative manner. Instead he goes on with rising distress at the absurdity of it.] I saw you suddenly step through the wall of the boat and just as mysteriously vanish right back through it. When I tried to go look for you in the cave, these huge malachite colored spikes appeared out of nowhere, about ready to impale me! And I step outside to find the skies lit up with the lighting frozen mid-streak?! You saw that too, didn't you? [She doesn’t look at him, but he can feel her shaking under his grip. Almost ashamed to think he was scaring her with such lunacy, his voice softens as he eases up on her.] I’m sorry, I’m a bit… out of sorts right now. I just want the assurance I’m not losing my mind.
Honey:
[That… that hits hard. She can only stare at him a moment with fear, sadness and disbelief. It seemed impossible as her and Luke had confirmed to each other that no one else was aware when the cracks in reality happened. For his own safety, she almost wanted to tell Blake it must be something about the island, as it was “notorious” for strange happenings, right? Instead she remembers how she had felt after the Milkshake Ruins, and how it still burned to have no real answers to the increasing number of questions. She couldn’t do that to Blake. Offering a soft, comforting smile at the Elite, she places her free hand over the hand holding her and gives him a gentle pat.] You’re not crazy unless we both are. Why don't we get out of the rain, and I’ll at least tell you what I know.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Now... as much as I love just how hammy and over the top the Scarfed Pikachu can be, Michael is, well... when he makes a threat, he seems to mean it. It's a lot less over the top, but I like to think he's the kind of person who's actions speak better than his words. o.O;;

Honey GLITched: Night on Haunted Rock
Blake:
Honey…? … Honey, can you hear me? We made it to shore. Are you okay? Honey?
Honey:
[Mumbling to herself as she’s still curled in a way that she can cling to her seat. Something about “slipping”.]
Blake:
[Hey, he’s not going to let her fall. Why she no trust him? Very timidly reaches over to give her a nudge] Honey? I’m right here. I told you I’d keep us both safe. Can you move?
Honey:
[That’s… not Luke. Her brain finally seems to register the voice and she very meekly peeks over her arm at him.] Blake? [She starts to uncurl herself and shifts to where she can look out the window. It’s still pouring down rain, but she can see a beach, so that might be a good sign they were still in their own world.] What happened? Where are we?
Blake:
We’re currently stuck on the Haunted Isle. I didn’t mean for that to happen, but that storm was fierce! Even though we got beached, I don’t think we’re too bad off yet. Do you want to come with me outside so we might have a look?
Honey:
[Though she’s still shaken by the whole affair, his calmness helps her to stay calm, and she gives him a very timid nod that she’ll go with him.]
=+=
[Yeesh, it was pretty bad. And for the entire ship to have gotten on shore, it was going to take some serious poke power to get it back into the water. Blake gazed over the whole thing with a massive expression of disappointment.]
Blake:
[DEEEP SIIIIGH.] Damn, this is worse than I thought. [A soft glance at her as he didn’t mean to speak so coarsely in front of her. Ahem] Team Fusion likely has their own means to leave the island which means if we don’t catch them now we’ll lose them.
Honey:
How are we going to get home?
Blake:
I’ll see what I can do to repair our boat. I think the worst of it is the rudder was cracked, but I can’t risk leaving it out in this weather. Otherwise we could be stranded indefinitely. Do you think you could handle Team Fusion?
Honey:
[Soft squeak] All by myself? [takes a deep breath as she calms her shaking] I’m sure Sap and I will be just fine. I just thought if I got into trouble-
Blake:
I’ll be right behind you. I promise, I’m not expecting you to face them alone. Right now, it’s just a matter of locating and stalling them while we still have a chance.
Honey:
Just keep them distracted? I can do that. [To herself as she starts to march up the beach] I can do this. I can do this. I can do this…
=+=
[She couldn’t do this. Honey had gone into the cave thinking it was the only logical place Team Fusion could have gone, and found out the hard way she was right. Out of the darkness they came, leaving her little more than a shout and threat before pulling her into battle. Despite her word of confidence to Blake, Sap was little better off than the others as Team Fusion’s fire-types quickly tore down his defenses. How she got out, Honey would never know, but she fled. She fled like the coward she knew she was. She wasn't cut out for real adventure.
To make matters worse, as she tried to catch her breath, she paused as the soft and broken melody had returned. The heavy cri-i-it-tit-ter-ing that wracked her brain seemed to follow the pattern of the rain. Honey rose from where she had crouched down in the grass and looked around as the world had started to fall out of sync again.]
Honey:
Oh no… [Looks to her hands, half wondering if she’d be able to see through them, the other half wondering if she should expect the blinding light of before to strike her at any moment. If she disappeared now, would Luke be there to save her like he promised? What would Blake think if she just blipped out existence- Blake! He still had to go after Team Fusion if she suddenly couldn’t.] I can’t slip away now! [She brushes herself off and hurries back over to the boat.] Blake! Blaaake! There’s something I need to tell you before-! [Gasps a little as she finds him, thoroughly frozen in the shadow of the ship while trying to patch one of it’s holes. Her heart starts racing as she circles him, half wishing she was wrong and he just REALLY needed to focus right now. He didn't even blink.] Please, please, pleeeaase wake up? I need you!
[Nothing she does seems to break that stern concentration until she manages to get in front of him. Trying to give him a soft shake, she at first thought that the effort was still useless until she realized that slowly, veeeeery slowly, there was a subtle light to his gaze as he looked up at her confusion. While the rain overhead still rattled to the beat in her brain, Honey suddenly felt more terrified to think she was causing him to “slip” than to leave him in that state.]
Honey:
[Gives a loud squeak as she stumbles backwards, and it takes her a moment to realize how she was even able to do that with her standing between him and the ship. She pushed herself up to realize she’d somehow gotten INSIDE their small vessel and she could feel her heart now pounding against her ribs as she looked down to see she had the floor up to her waist. Was it… was it possible to only slip halfway? To be in this reality while not being in reality? Was she partially there in the other universe as well? Still unsure as to what she’d done to Blake, and still hoping she’d just imagined it, she pushed herself to slip out of the other side of the boat.] LUKE?! [She doubted he’d answer, but anything was worth a shot to get her out of the waking nightmare she was experiencing] Luke, what’s happening?!
[Only the rain seemed to respond, but the Voices had started to fix themselves well enough for her to listen. So she took a moment to do just that; listen. Some suggested, as she already thought, that she was simply “glitching” again. Another stray little Voice brought up that Blake DID have a Darkrai, and this could all just be a terrible, terrible dream. A few were speaking about Team Fusion in hushed whispers. …. Fusion… Honey looked back to the cave with a mix of fear and determination. Hadn’t Luke said the “problem” was coming from her world? While she couldn’t remember what started this mess, she’d noticed it’d was at it’s worse when either Team Fusion showed up, or the Scarfed Pikachu. And had the rodent not said he’d get revenge for ruining his life by ruining hers? Whether the two were connected or not, as far as she could tell the result was the same.]
Honey:
… [steps around the outside of the boat to look back at the young Elite, still frozen.] Hang in there, Blake. I guess it’s my turn to save you now.
=+=
[Honey was both afraid and furious to see that none of the Team Fusion members had been frozen. Adding all the more fuel to her theory. It left her hurt and confused as she stumbled through the darkness to confront them, and made them all the more angry to realize that SOMEONE was not affected by their little trick. What exactly they had done, she’d never know as the grunts refused to speak with her even after she defeated them. Then again, Honey started to feel bad as she noticed the eerie pattern of how upon defeat they all suddenly halted in their aggression. All quietly repeating the exact same thing.]
Honey:
[Eyes the man warily as he just seems to stand there, glassy eyed as she’d seen the professor that morning, and gives him a gentle poke.] Sir?
Grunt:
Team Fusion’s goals are of no concern to you.
Honey:
…. [Looks down at BBC]
BBC:
Uh… [Uses Howl!]
Grunt:
[Despite getting barked at, he simply responds] Team Fusion’s goals are of no concern to you.
BBC:
[Doggish head tilt as she waits for him to say anything else] … How queer. [looks up at Honey] And you say this sort of thing has been happening since yesterday morning? What do you think this is?
Honey:
[walk and talk Pooch, they’ve likely a long way to go] I’m not sure what to think, but if they ARE the ones behind this, then they probably froze Blake to make sure he wouldn’t stop them again.
BBC:
Because he was the one to clear them out of the Milkshake Swamp, correct?
Honey:
Yeah, that was even before I got you guys. But now it seems like the price for losing is to be “stopped” as well.
BBC:
It is very curious. I fancy then it may be a security attempt on their leader’s part. If they cannot respond to questions or force after being disarmed, then they can’t give away information.
Honey:
[Sinks down a bit at the thought, but that did seem to be most likely. Still, it was almost painful to see the light leave their eyes as if put under some sort of spell. And all the worse to know they ended up that way because of her…Clenches her fist in determination.] Well, we’ll just have to have a word with their leader, now won’t we?
=+=
[While she was glad to step out of the cave, Honey knew the danger could only grow the farther up the mountain she climbed. That charge, that static to the air was becoming overwhelming again. It made her tense… Her concentration was shattered when there came a blinding light which made her flinch and duck down as the thunder roared overhead. That’s all it was, she tried to assure herself, just lightning. Returning to her feet revealed a terrible scene as the mountains almost looked like FIRE and she realized that even the lightning overhead had become frozen. She must have been getting close to the source…]
Honey:
Y-you can do this…[tries to steady her breathing as she can see a new cave entrance up ahead. Something told her, her gut, the Voices, but SOMETHING told her she’d found the culprit. She was going to face against Team Fusion’s leader and save everyone! Mustering up that courage, she marched forward.]
Pikachu:
[Facing the back of the cave as if looking at something… ears perk as he gives a subtle backward glance at her] Heh heh heh… Expecting someone else, were you?
Honey:
[Honestly she was, and all she can do right now is stare at him. The connection between him and the strange lapses in reality were seriously growing deeper]
Pikachu:
[Turns to her now as he crosses his paws across his chest, still failing to be intimidating as his high pitched voice drips with bitterness] You came all this way hoping to fight with Team Fusion, but all that’s here is me. [grinning] God, I love that look on your face right now. The betrayal, the confusion. Having your dream crushed so easily~! Come on then, battle with me. I want to see how beautifully painful you look when you lose!
Honey:
A lot of talk for something the size of my shoe. Manga, let’s go! [tosses Poke Ball between them.]
Pikachu:
A water-type? You must be crazy!
[Crazy or not, the battle ended absurdly quick. Perhaps it was because of all her training since their last meeting, or perhaps the electricity he absorbed in that battle had given him a huge boost, but the Scarfed Pikachu gave in surprisingly easily this time. Honey found herself on edge as he raised a paw to call it quits. What was he thinking…?]
Pikachu:
Alright, alright! You win. I lost again, but I’ll take this loss as fuel to make me more determined to beat you next time. [Gives her a bit of a sly grin] However… I need you to progress so we may battle again. Why not take this with you?
Honey:
[Looks at the item capsule with caution] What is it?
Pikachu:
It’s called a Delusifier. My superiors are in a cave blocked by Zoroark’s illusions to keep intruders out. You can use that device to see through illusions and reach them.
Honey:
Why are you helping me?
Pikachu:
[Snaps] I’m not helping you! I wasn’t able to defeat you, but I sure hope they will! Never forget, I want you dead! Farewell, asshole!
Honey:
[And with that, he storms off again, leaving the girl all the more confused and uncertain to anything anymore.] … [Looks down at the item ball where he dropped it, and picks it up] His superiors, huh? So they really are working together...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes, we apparently unleashed Hell on the mountain
Poor Honey is in dire straights right now, but at least she's... possibly, probably better off than Blake. |D;; .... Which is something I kind of want to address...
We've met him before, but we finally get to meet our Prince of in Distress as Blake is considerably our long-term companion. I know the game makers wanted a Champion sorry, Elite who was more active in the plot than others were at the time, but there's... a problem. I really do like Blake. His appearances are consistent enough to be more like a helper, like with Hau or Pearl. The key difference from those two trying to help though is that you, the protag, are always proven to be the stronger between the two of you and being close to the same age gives an impression that while you guys might team up against the bad guys, your partner here doesn't know any better than you do. Blake being a top tier trainer in the region honestly shouldn't NEED you, especially when you prove you can take out the whole of the Team fleet with your lv.30 whatever and supposedly he's got a full team of optimized lv.60s or something. .... Which means like 9/10 his appearances come down to this XD
That said... I'm just taking this time to explain that while I am trying to keep to the plot of Glazed, this left the logic to why Honey is always the one doing everything despite Blake's presence to basically: a) He's really just that incompetent. b) we're dealing with a Lockehart situation and he's heroics are all just a con. c) there's actually a perfectly good explanation why he can't come, it's usually because he's possibly-quite-literally tied up at the moment. .... Since I actually do like this guy, it's sad that C seems like the NICE option.
So just giving you guys fair warning in advance, if Honey thinks she's in over her head, Blake most definitely is and he'll be getting rescued / banged up quite a bit before all this is over. -w-;;
But what can you expect from guy who's signature companion is Dark Entei -shot-
Honey GLITched: The Quest
[Honey wasn’t really paying attention as she went from ship... to ship… to ship… With the sun starting to set on the horizon, just how far away was Serenity Island anyway? She didn’t mind though. As Oceanview had reintroduced her to the sweet fragrance of the salt air after all her time around swamp and car fumes, she could have ridden all night. The breeze blowing her bangs back as she stood on the deck to watch the waves rise up along the side of the boat, spotting shadows beneath the surface. Each terminal she wandered the crowds by the ferry with the phone to her ear as she tried to call home, but only now did her mother pick up.]
Mom:
Hey, Honey~! Are you having fun yet? We were starting to worry about you.
Honey:
[If they were worried now, she wasn’t sure how they’d feel to know about the day she’d been having.] I’m sorry, I should have called sooner. I’ve… made a few friends? And I’ve got lots of Pokemon now. I guess it’s more fun now that I’m getting into it. I finally got my first badge!
Mom:
Oh, Honey, that’s wonderful! [Her voice becomes muffled as she gives the news to her husband] I can’t wait for you to show us all your new friends. We should celebrate. What would you like for dinner?
Honey:
Um… About that? Part of the reason I wanted to call you is because I don’t think I’m going to make it home tonight.
Dad:
Why not?
Honey:
[Oh snap, she did not expect that.] H-hi, Daddy~! Um… W-well I’m actually on my way to Serenity Island for a d-delivery! For Professor Willow. He didn’t say what exactly, but he wanted me to meet him at his other lab, I think?
Dad:
[Starts laughing as he can be heard saying something to her mother.] Serenity Island? But Honey, that’s practically right next door! He probably meant when you came back this way.
Honey:
Wh-what?! Aww gees.... I guess I’ll be there soon. Hey, when I get home, can we um... talk?
Mom:
[Nod so amused now.] About what? Did something happen?
Honey:
I don’t know, I’ve just been thinking about stuff today is all. Going on my own adventures just reminded me of some of Grandpa’s stories. Like with me helping the professor and meeting some of Tunod’s leaders, it’s kind of exciting seeing it first hand.
Dad:
Don’t worry, we just like to know you’re safe. We’ll see if we can dig up some old photo albums before you get home.
Honey:
Thanks, I’d appreciate it. [Click.]
=+=
[Honey was glad to sleep in her own bed after the day long day, and even finally got the chance to clean up. She still shuddered to think about that dreadful swamp, but now that she knew what it was like she could prepare to ever go back there. Experience, her mother teased. At least talking to her parents about the POSSIBILITY of another universe, like the one her grandparents had supposedly once traveled to, eased her mind. Her Mom even said how she’d met one of their friend’s from the other side when she was really little. Not that she knew anything about him besides the old photograph they had when “the gang” was all together all those years ago. Not that she ever traveled either, but the massive cracks over Alola were very uncommon compared to when her parents were kids. Honey’s Dad wasn’t quite convinced they hadn’t made it up. After all, the cracks were in the sky, how were either of them able to reach one? And who was to say their friend “went home” wasn’t just a careful way to dodge telling a curious child that a dear friend had been killed? Considering Mr. Nile’s line of work and all...
On the note of danger, Honey still didn’t tell them about her “slipping,” as she couldn’t bear to make them worry any more than they already did. She knew better than to hide the incident at the ruins from them though. Meeting with Blake, the INVENTOR, and some strange men calling themselves Team Fusion. Sad to think that helping an Elite fight vandals was considered the less worrisome between the two. Just one more thing she’d need to talk to Professor Willow about in the morning.
The next day Honey got up early, early for her anyway, and wandered casually toward Professor Willow’s Lab as she’d been instructed. The sun was already bright and cheery, perfect weather for an adventure as her father liked to say. If only he knew what sort of adventure she had ahead of her. Still, after getting quite a bit of “experience” under her belt, and having the little bit of information and assurance from Luke, she felt she was ready for whatever the new day had in store for her. …. Which fate deemed was to start right that moment.]
Honey:
[Confused as she sees the Professor had some company this morning. Walks up behind the unmistakable young man in the white suit he’s talking to.] Good morning?
Willow:
Good morning, Honey! It’s good to see you again. Thank you for coming by.
Blake:
[What a pleasant surprise as he turns around.] Honey! [She seems to only blink at him in confusion causing the joy to his expression start to droop.] It’s, uh… It’s Blake, from Tunod’s Elite Four? We just met yesterday.
Honey:
[Slight giggle] I know who you are. I just wasn’t expecting to find you here of all places. A lot happened after you left yesterday.
Blake:
[Curious.] Nothing too terrible, I hope?
Honey:
[OH WHERE TO BEGIN?! She just kind of gives him a nervous grin as she tries to think how to answer that before shaking her head.] I’ve just had a lot on my mind. I’m in the process of replacing my entire team. [Adds quickly] Not that anything happened to them, it just wasn’t working out like I hoped.
Blake:
Ah, that’s too bad, then. [Putting on his best authoritative tone] While it is always nice to train your favorites, it’s also smart to think about the road ahead. Especially for the danger that’s been happening lately. That’s why I’m here actually, I was hoping that you might assist me today. [A bit of a shy glance to Willow for his approval before admitting a bit more naturally.] I realized after that grunt got away that perhaps I could use a hand when dealing with Team Fusion. Would you-?
Honey:
Sure I can! I’ll need to grab some things before we go, if that’s okay.
Willow:
[Well that seemed to cheer the boy up. Shouldn’t be so amused to just listen to them and clears his throat to get their attention.] Good to hear then. I was just telling Blake how Team Fusion has been seen poking around the Haunted Isle. It’s a small but notorious place just off the coast of Serenity Island. When I heard from Spark you’d already gotten your first badge, I had hoped you might be up for the challenge.
Blake:
[Nods before adding onto the information.] They could be defacing the ruins out there, or worse, if we learned anything from yesterday. Since you’ve decided you’re up for it, I will meet you at the port in Serenity Island. I hope to see you soon.
Honey:
Will do~! [She smiles to herself as she watches him leave, only to give a slight jump as she turns back to the professor.] What?
Willow:
[Still amused, just shakes his head] It’s nothing, my dear, just happy for you. I hate to keep asking you to run errands for me, but I have another favor for you.
Honey:
I still work for you, not him. What can I do for you?
Willow:
Good to hear then. The next gym you’ll be going to is in Seaspray Town, and I need to deliver a pressure sensor to the Seaspray Dam. [Gives her an item capsule that’s labeled SENSOR for her convenience. Very important looking indeed.] When you get there, you’ll need to give it to Flo, the manager of Seaspray Dam. In return, I’m going to give you access to Glenwood’s secret treasure, the Forlorn Cape. It’s my Pokemon Sanctuary only a few in town even know about. [He gives her a look that’s more of a command than the suggestion he offers] Though it sounds like you may want to take a few for your journey if you plan to stand up to Team Fusion.
Honey:
[She takes the Hidden Machine for Cut and looks up to him with wonder and bewilderment] Thank you… I don’t even know what to say.
Willow:
You’ve said enough. I also heard from Spark last night what you did for him at the Power Plant, and we both agree you seem to have a lot of potential for your journey. And now that even Blake, [somewhat mockingly of the young man’s prideful introduction] member of the Elite Four, has come looking for you, I have a feeling you’re going to be very important in what’s to come.
Honey:
And… what’s to come, professor? … Professor? [Her mouth hangs slightly open as she stares up at him, his eyes glazed over as if he doesn’t even see her. She slips the HM into her bag and waves a hand in front of his face] Oh, not you too! Professor Willow?!
Willow:
[Thankfully, he seems to snap out of it, though he’s clearly lost as to what he was doing before then. Looks around the room, then down to her with a bit of pleasant surprise.] Oh, hello, Honey! Did you want to see how much progress you’ve made?
Honey:
[Something in his voice suddenly seems off, but she’s not exactly sure why. Warily] That’s… um… You were saying something about that, I think?
Willow:
Well, according to our last report, it would appear you’ve met seven Pokemon so far. So for your Pokedex I would say you should go to some grassy areas and look for Pokemon more carefully.
Honey:
Oh… Is that all?
Willow:
… [He’s not sure actually, and rubs a hand alongside his temple as he thinks it over. Somewhat concerned as he has a feeling there was something else that’s escaped him.] Yes, I suppose so. Just be careful out there. I hope to hear from you after your delivery.
Honey:
[Is very worried about him, but as Luke said, no one else seemed to notice these things but her. Perhaps she should just leave the Professor alone, and maybe he’ll be alright. That’s what happened to the INVENTOR after she’d left him, right? Tries to give him a smile] Alright, I promise.
=+=
[After replenishing the slots on her belt, and an hour long training session in the Milkshake Swamp, Honey felt she was finally ready to take on some Team Fusion grunts. Or so she hoped. As she made her way back to Oceanview, she couldn’t help but take one long look back at the swamp’s odd ruins. She’d passed it several times that morning, more of passing through than anything, but she was more than glad to see that nothing had happened this time. Not even minor “slips” that should could tell… unless she was just getting used to all this weirdness enough to ignore it. Whatever the case, she could only hope that her smooth practice session would carry over to the Haunted Isle, as the last thing either her or Blake needed was for her to disappear in the middle of a confrontation.]
Honey:
[A soft sigh as she starts to leave the ancient pillars once again] I sure hope Luke keeps his promise…
=+=
[Honey could only hope it was a sign of his extremely good patience, and not because time had frozen again, that Blake was found calmly waiting for her at the dock. He rose from his seat by the railing quite happily to see her.]
Blake:
Ah, you made it! Are you and your new team ready for action? We don’t know what we’re in for.
Honey:
[Playfully] Aye, aye, sir! I’ve a feeling I’m more prepared than you are.
Blake:
Heh, what’s that supposed to mean?
Honey:
I’m not sure how to explain, it just seems like weird things happen only after you leave the room. I’m starting to think you do it on purpose.
Blake:
Maybe I’ll have you leave first next time, and we’ll see what happens. [Rather charmingly steps aside to motion her passage] After you?
[Honey fights the urge to squeak, and only gives him a sly glance as she steps passed him with confidence to board their lovely little vessel. She was starting to feel like quite the important little lady today and just gleamed as she peered around the high class cabin. After settling in, the boat gives a soft rocking as it begins to bob and jump along the waves.]
Honey:
[Not to be rude, but it certainly didn’t ride as smoothly as she might have hoped.] Are you sure you’ve ever driven one of these?
Blake:
Huh? [glances back at her] Of course I have. It’s my boat, after all. [Chuckling to himself as he turns his eyes back to the Tunod Sea.] It’s just… looking pretty rough out there. That’s all. [After getting things straight, he glances back again briefly] You’re a very brave girl, Honey. According to Professor Willow, you don’t hesitate when things get important.
Honey:
Well, not if it’s important. There’s lots of thi- [she braces herself as the boat gives a jump, feeling for a moment as if it briefly left the water.] Um… Lots of things that I…
Blake:
[It’s not just her this time, and he can understand her nervousness. A wary glance at the darkening skies is outright baffling.] What in the…? Do you see that?
Honey:
[Very VERY worried right now.] It feels like there’s a storm rolling in.
Blake:
Not “rolling in.” The weather just turned out of nowhere. [Calls back to her with a bark of command] Better buckle down. Don’t you worry, Honey, I’ll get us there safe! [Softly to himself, and much less confident as he tries to peer through the now pouring rain] The boat might not be…
.
.
.
CRRRRAAASSSHHHHHHHHH!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A lot of jumping around in this, but we're also FINALLY getting into the plot. Time to kick things up a notch. o.O;;
Also, I get the feeling that Honey's not really a "newbie" to being a trainer per se. Her family's been around enough Pokemon it's more like when you see people who didn't get their driver's license until late because their family's security and / or finances made it so they wouldn't need one until they needed it. Like in Honey's case, a job where she'd need her own Pokemon for once.

Honey GLITched: The Rodent’s Revenge
[It only started when she was half-way up the abandoned Power Plant. This static, this crit-crit-criting noise like when a radio started to lose it’s signal. Her head was pounding, her face felt hot, and the Voices chattered in confusion about what started it. Was it the Porygon her partner accidentally broke? Was the paint fumes from the graffiti artists getting to her? Was it the elevation? While she’d been in the building a few times that afternoon, she’d never made it this far in. Stupid Gym Leader Sparky closing the gym so he could run off to this place. After the day she’d been having, all she wanted to do was get her first badge so she’d have something to show her parents when she got home. … If she didn’t “slip” again.
The encounter with Luke had been worrisome, and weighed on her mind heavily. At least this cringeworthy, agonizing charge to the air made it hard to think of anything, even about him. She stepped into the top floor where she stopped short upon seeing a Pikachu with a long red scarf.]
Honey:
[Just stares at it.] … Oh you’ve got to be kidding me.
???:
[Looks back at the new voice with a start] Whoa! Who are you? Can’t you see it’s dangerous in here? [Before she can answer his question, the young man turns to point out the Pikachu.] See that Pikachu? It’s managed to activate the Power Plant’s turbines and seems to be absorbing the electricity!
Honey:
[While she knows this particular Pikachu has gotten hostile before, at the moment it just looks like it’s dancing on a sugar high. … Or maybe her headache was making her too loopy to fully comprehend things. She blinks at the bundled up blond.] I’ve heard that wild Pikachu like to eat electricity from power lines and stuff. If the Power Plant doesn’t go to the city anymore, what’s so bad about that?
???:
Are you kidding? There’s a bunch of punk kids running around here, if the Power Plant is activated, everyone downstairs could accidentally get fried!
Honey:
… … … [Okay NOW she’s taking this more seriously as she hadn’t thought about that.] Yikes, that IS bad! We need to find the gym leader too. I heard he should be around here somewhere looking into the noise.
Spark:
Huh? Oh, you must have come here looking for me. I’m sorry about the gym, but this is really important. The name’s Spark, but everyone likes to call me SPARKY. Listen, I’ll give you a gym match if you’ll help me out. We need to find a way to shut down the power. Why don’t you go fight that Pikachu while I’ll see if I can find a switch?
Honey:
[As annoyed as she’d been about the rest of the day, she actually brightens up at the offer. Honestly, he didn’t have to promise her anything, the situation seemed dangerous enough he should only have to ask. Not to mention, that Pikachu wasn’t just any ordinary Pikachu. Shakes his hand.] Deal. You go left, I’ll go right.
[As there are several switches around the room, Honey and Spark carefully move around the electric field the Scarfed Pikachu has formed around itself to check for a way to turn it off. Surprisingly, Honey stumbles across the right one, causing the lights to immediately dim, and the Pikachu gives a loud cry of dismay to see the energy cut off.]
Honey:
[Has a hand hovering over her belt just in case as she slowly approaches him.] Easy there…. What are you up to, little guy?
Pikachu:
[Nudging one of the turbines furiously as if it’ll somehow come back on. The comment seems to infuriate him further as he glares up at her.] You? Damn it! I should have known it’d be you to cut off the power! You, who ruined my life, who kicked me out of my home!
Honey:
[Honestly taken aback by that.] Wh-what?! How could I have ruined your life? I only met you this morning!
Pikachu:
What?! You… [eyes her cautiously] You can hear me?
Honey:
Oh, um... yeah? I got a new device that allows me to talk to Pokemon. [brings her hands up to her chest, somewhat hopefully] I know you’re very angry right now, but can we please just talk about this?
Pikachu:
[Bitterly as his eyes narrow] Well aren’t you special? Then hear this! I’ve been absorbing this electricity so I could level up. And now, it’s payback time!
Honey:
[Was afraid of that. As the sparks start to fly, she immediately calls out her Grotle.] Quick, help!
Pikachu:
[Bit of a dark chuckle as he looks at the turtle.] Ooooh, so you’ve grown up now?
Grotle:
[A bit cocky] More than I can say for you.
Pikachu:
Tch, well I ain’t losing to a couple of saps. I don’t NEED to evolve to take you down!
Grotle:
Then shut up and see if you can hit me~!
[That most definitely pushed the Pikachu over the edge and the two clash in the narrow flooring as Honey tries to step back. This was bad. Her poor little starter was injured going into this and was in no condition to be fighting like this. She really didn’t want to fight the Pikachu in the first place.]
Honey:
BBC, get him out of there! [As the Poochyena takes to the field, she flinches in taking the hit aimed for the Grotle. Honey gives a high pitched gasp to see how hurt she is.] BBC, are you alright?
BBC:
He’s far too strong for us! We need to get to safety!
Pikachu:
Too chicken to fight me then? Heh, all the better for me. I’LL CRUSH YOU!
Honey:
[Goes to recall her poor terrified pooch, but the Pikachu is too fast! BBC gives a sharp yelp of pain as she goes down to the next Quick Attack.] Ooooooh you’re in for it now, you little rat! [Nevermind her earlier concern, she’s bringing back her powerhouse.]
Spark:
[Is watching from the sidelines completely dumbfounded as he continues to only hear one side of the conversation in the domination that follows. The girl definitely has spunk though as the Pikachu builds it’s speed up faster and faster to dodge her attacks.] Huh… Why do I get the feeling this is a personal affair?
Honey:
Absorb! [Caught up in the moment, she’d completely forgotten about him.] Oh, um… … …
Pikachu:
[Gasping for air, totally drained of it’s built up energy from before] Kno… Knock it off! [As she looks back at him, on the ground panting, he can only growl in his humiliation] I’m so… freakin’ tired of you… ruining my dreams! Believe me, I will have my revenge!
Honey:
Wait, you still haven’t-! [But he somehow seemed to muster up the speed to dash away before anyone could catch him] … What did I do wrong?
Grotle:
He’s just bitter, Honey, I don’t think you did anything. [A bit more cheerfully] Besides us utterly crushing that battle. Call me a “sap,” I sapped him alright~!
Honey:
[Giggles] Well… you are a sap though. I got you as a sapling, at least. Maybe we should just call you Sap.
Sap:
… But he used it as an insult.
Spark:
I dunno, it’s kind of cute. [Grins at them both giving him a look.] That’s a weird little device you got there. It’s like a Pokemon translator or something?
Honey:
Oh, right! You couldn’t understand any of that earlier, could you? [Slides the cord over her head to hand it to him.] It’s called a PokeComm. I got it for helping the INVENTOR.
Spark:
[Genuinely intrigued as he looks it over.] Cool! Looks pretty new too. I wonder if he’d let me have one. You know, for science. [Grins as he kneels down in front of the Grotle.] Anything you want to say, Sap?
Sap:
… … … [Sorry, he’s not used to talking to anyone besides Honey, he wouldn’t know what to say to him anyway. Looks up at Honey.] How are you feeling?
Honey:
Be nice. [She’s almost embarrassed by her Pokemon’s total dismissal of a Gym Leader of all people.] I’m doing much better now. I’m almost wondering if the turbines were making me ill.
Spark:
That’s... great? Boy, you must be one heck of a competitor if you went through all this while sick. I don’t suppose you’ll ever tell me what that was all about with the Pikachu though, huh?
Honey:
Oh, well… it’s a bit of a long story. Or, not really, it just attacked my family and now thinks it needs to destroy me for being stronger than it. Or something, since nothing it said back there made any sense. I suppose being an electric-type specialist, you really wanted to catch that, didn’t you?
Spark:
Probably better if I don’t. [Just kind of shrugs at them and rises up to give Honey back her device.] But! Deal’s a deal. The power’s off and the Pikachu is gone, so I’ll see you back at the gym. I’ve only had easy challengers recently, so you better not disappoint me. [Gives her a wink as he turns to leave.]
Honey:
... … … [Slight blush.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
abiyoru: “It does seem funny to me that Honey got the Poké translator when a lot of TPP lore already has the hosts able to understand their Mon. Bit of a wasted effort there.”
Ah yes, but then we'd miss out on this ~glorious~ bit of dialogue from the bitter and edgy Pikachu. Seriously though, this thing is hilarious in how menacing it tries to be.
Meanwhile, Spark~! 8D
I actually didn't do any of the gym leaders / battles because I wanted to stay close to the cutscenes that mostly sets Glazed apart from other games. So this is probably the only time we'll be seeing him.
Honey GLITched: Luke
[Still bracing herself for the worse, Honey was suddenly DRENCHED as soon as the shaking stopped. A loud clap of thunder terrified her into opening her eyes to see what had happened. It was raining, raining buckets, as she tried to peer through the chilling mist at the world around her. The ruins were gone! The tablet was gone! The people were gone! The stairs she stood on had shrunk to more of a platform with a giant star insignia on it. A few pillars came into view as she adjusted her eyes to the darkness.]
Honey:
Wh-wh-what? What happened?! [Another sharp crack of thunder shows how fierce the storm is, causing her to jump. Glaring up at the clouds, she roared back] WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?! [As the boom echoed into more of a low rumble, she tried to breath as the fear and confusion brought tears to her eyes. This was getting to be too much. As her heart continued to race, her mind ran through forty different scenarios as to what was going on and what to do now. She couldn’t think clearly enough for any of them, but her earlier dread returned] Am I slipping again? Am I losing my mind?!
???:
Heeeeeeey!
Honey:
[She thought she heard someone over the roar of the water. Looking up, she can barely make out the figure of an oddly familiar boy running up to her. He didn't appear dressed for this kind of weather either, running around in... the same outfit from that morning. Yes, she remembered quite clearly now, that was the same guy who got her into this mess!]
???:
[Doesn't seem she heard him as she's still standing on the platform kind of... glaring at him. Being very loud to call over the storm.] I thought I felt something over here! Are you okay?
Honey:
Wh-what?! No I am not okay! I’m sick! I’m soaked! I’m scared! I’m lost! I’m-
???:
[Quickly places his hands on her shoulders as he tries to calm her.] Shhh, shhhh, shhh… Then I promise, it’s gonna be okay. You’re new to this, you’ve got reason to be upset. I’m kind of in a rush, so I’ll have to hold off explaining again. Would you mind helping me? I’m looking for a Mudkip that-
Honey:
[Pulls away from him in frustration.] No! [She never gets confrontational like this, the very act of raising her voice like this causes her to start shaking.] I don’t want to help you, I don’t even know you! And you said you were going to explain last time, but how am I supposed to believe anything you say when you won’t even tell me your name?! Why is this happening? What did you do to me?!
???:
Look, it’s not that- [Another crack of thunder almost startles him as he glares up at the skies] FINE! ALRIGHT! [More calmly as he looks back to her] Fine. My name is Luke. I’m the one who took you back to your room, remember?
Honey:
[Still wary, but she might as well give him her name. Very bluntly as she’s still feels he’s going to trick her or something and disappear without answering… again.] Honey. I vaguely remember what happened. You said you couldn’t explain anything back then, but I’ve had a lot of weird, unexplainable things come up since I met you and I want to know why. I can’t talk to anyone back home because, for whatever reason, I’m the only one who notices-
Luke:
[Joins her in sync] You’re the only one who notices. [nods softly as she continues to glare at him.] I know, and I’m sorry you’ve been going through all this, but I don’t actually have an answer for you. All I know is from what I’ve learned since I started “slipping” a few weeks ago. Up until you showed up, I thought it was only me. So I really do understand what you’re going through right now. I promise I didn’t “do” anything to you, it just sorta happens. Just hear me out, I know this sounds crazy, but as I predicted, you’ve accidentally slipped into my world again through some gateway that allows passage over the Void. I still don’t know why either of us has started jumping the gap at random, but I’m doing everything I can to find out. I’m sorry I can’t do anything to help you, but I can at least help you to return home.
Honey:
[That doesn't exactly sound encouraging. In fact, it just makes the situation seem worse. Listening patiently, though her hot tears mingling with the cold rain makes her sniffle.] But I’ll just come back, won’t I? And without you, I’ll just be stranded in this “other world” you claim we’re in now?
Luke:
I’ve been able to pick up on the gateways pretty well lately, so it’s very likely we’ll meet again. I’ll probably be around whenever you show up since I’ve been trying to keep the Pokemon that have been showing up here near the openings.
Honey:
So whenever I “slip,” it’s because I got too close to some inter-dimensional gateway? But I never had this problem before.
Luke:
Who knows how long it’s been happening before I found out, but every story I know just screams we’re probably in trouble. I think the source of the trouble is coming from your side though, so we HAVE to get you back. Do whatever you can to find out while you’re there, and I’ll try everything I can over here. Can you do that for me?
Honey:
[Sounds like a giant mess really, but if there was nothing they could do to control it, she might as well look into it. Sighs.] I… I guess…
Luke:
Thank you. Now, I can’t really explain why just yet, but I need you to trust me. Go out there into the swamp and find the Mudkip. I’ll try to get the portal going again so we can get you home. Okay?
Honey:
I’ll try…
[As the chase seemed rather pointless, it somehow seemed to work. At first, she was honestly worried as she carried the unconscious fish back to the alter that Luke was going to need it for some kind of sacrifice, but returning revealed that the star on the pedestal had lit up and was ready to take her back.]
Honey:
How did you-?
Luke:
I’m sorry, hopefully I’ll have more to explain the next time we meet.
Honey:
[Somewhat concerned and still disappointed.] Must we meet again?
Luke:
Look, I don’t like this either, but it just can’t be helped. I'm just glad to have some help on the other side since I never get to stay very long. Now, you have to hurry before the portal closes. Go on, please?
Honey:
[With the rain still coming down, she takes one last look at the “other swamp” and takes a deep breath. It was going to be okay, he said. Whether she liked it or not, he was the only one she could trust with this.] I guess I’ll see you then. Goodbye, Luke.
Luke:
[He heaves a sigh of relief to see her go as he wasn’t sure how long the portal would last. Rather somberly to himself as he stands alone on the quiet platform] Good luck, Honey.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About time we finally got to meet this guy, huh? Poor Honey though, she's finally getting some answers, and none of it's good news.

Honey GLITched: Meet and Greet: Fusion Style
[While the INVENTOR certainly was rude, he had been nice enough to give her a lot of Poke Balls to start with. Her mind was already buzzing with the possibilities. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a catch...]
INVENTOR:
Do you mind if I ask you a huge favor? There are some wonderful ruins in the Milkshake Swamp I’d like to observe, but I would feel much safer with an escort. Would you mind coming with me?
Honey:
Oh… um… [She’d heard around town how most people found the swamp to be sticky and disgusting, and she wasn’t really at all dressed for such a place, but all she can do is timidly try to raise a hand to ask if he might have something she can borrow.]
INVENTOR:
[Doesn’t let her ask] Good! The entrance is to the north of town. I will meet you there.
Honey:
[Can only let out a sigh as he shoves past her. No one ever listened to her anyway...] Mom is going to kill me if I ruin this skirt…
=+=
[In all honesty, her clothes are really the last thing she needs to worry about once she reaches the entrance. She’s alarmed to hear the INVENTOR arguing with a couple of men blocking the path, when he suddenly turns to her sharply.]
INVENTOR:
[huffs] Honey! You won’t believe this, but these two men won’t let us enter the Milkshake Swamp!
???:
[Bit of a devious chuckle.] Still preying on innocent travelers, Team Fusion? I never thought you’d stoop so low. [The two men seem unnerved by the suave, masculine voice as they turn around. Honey rises up on her tiptoes to look passed them at the young man in white who just left the swamp. The stranger notices her between the orange shirts and gives a smile as he turns his attention back to them with confidence.] I’ve already run off the rest of your gang, so you’ve no reason to stay here. Of course, if you have any need to protest, my Darkrai is itching for battle.
[The low buzzing of voices in her mind suddenly spike at the comment. Darkrai… But such Pokemon were only in stories, weren’t they? Then again, nothing that day had been making any sense. As she was already close to them, she can’t help but overhear the snickering not from within her head, but from the two men in front of her. They don’t seem scared at all as they give each other an oddly pleased glance.]
Grunt:
Our objectives here are complete then. We’ll be taking our leave.
???:
[It seems he heard that as well, and frowns after they run past him. However, he’s more concerned with the “innocent travelers” left behind.] They didn’t hurt you, did they? [They both shake their heads.] Thank goodness. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Blake. I’m a member of the Elite Four here in Tunod. I’ve taken it upon myself to protect travelers such as yourselves at any expense.
Honey:
[slight blush as he takes her hand.] H-honey~ [catches herself as she pulls her hand back.] My name! I mean… I’m called Honey. [she gives a girlish giggle, though it comes out as nervous with the growing embarrassment.]
INVENTOR:
[Does not take Blake’s hand in introductions, but rather puffs up with a bit of pride.] You should know me, I am the INVENTOR! I head the lab up there on the hill.
Blake:
[Gives a nod of affirmation.] I’ve heard quite a lot about you then. What I do not know is why you two are going to the Milkshake Swamp. It’s not exactly the most fun place to be.
INVENTOR:
I was curious about some ruins deep in the swamp. Honey was going to escort me as I have no Pokemon.
Blake:
[Thoughtful, almost suspicious.] That is very curious then. Team Fusion, or those men who were keeping you from entering the swamp, were poking around in the same ruins. [Gives a nod of affirmation, though more to himself as no question had been asked, and gives the man a smile.] Allow me to escort you then to make sure I’ve frightened them all off. I’m sure Honey doesn’t want to be hanging around with two adults anyway.
Honey:
[Did he just dismiss her? Wait, did he just call her a kid?! The little flutter in her chest just dropped as she stares up at him.] Huh? No, no! I don’t mind at all, honestly.
Blake:
[Amused at her enthusiasm, but he just shakes his head.] You’ve only just begun as a trainer, right? You’re still free to explore the swamp, train hard- [points down at the single Poke Ball on her belt] build a team. Strive for your dreams, and be rest assured they’ll come true. [He can see how disappointed she is, so he adds on as he turns away.] Who knows? One day, even we may battle. I’m sure this is not the last time we’ll meet. Come, INVENTOR, for scientific exploration awaits!
[Honey gives a slight whine of disappointment as her researcher companion doesn’t even bother to tell her goodbye. The little blonde can only watch as the pair take their leave, when just after Blake was out of sight, something strange happened. The INVENTOR jumped, teleported really, back to where he stood behind her. Frozen. Honey felt a chill course through her as she stared at him, half hoping he’d start moving again as Percy had. Nothing.]
Honey:
[waves a hand in front of his glassy eyed gaze, but the man doesn’t even blink. She looks to the swamp in slight terror as she goes in.] Blaaaake? [Odd, she didn’t think he’d left that long ago, but he’s nowhere to be seen. She starts to hurry deeper in after him.] Blake?!
=+=
[Blake was right. She really was in over her head with this. Total newbie now up to her neck in mud and who knows what else after she discovered the poisonous ivy that injured her poor new Pokemon. But at least she had heeded his advice to build up her team even if it was with snakes, frogs, and a poisonous plant bulb. The swamp was FULL of visitors though, trainers ready to take her down not realizing what would happen to her if they won. What did happen to her when they won? Though it had happened several times now, she still couldn’t figure out just how she went from a battle out in the fields to suddenly regaining consciousness back in town. The Voices in her head crooned how she didn’t have far to go, but to hurry as They, or she, was dying…. Dying… dying… Jokingly, if she could trust Their tone.
That was another thing to this very long and very strange day she’d been having. As she watched the Budew wrestle match taking forever before her, her mind had started to wander over what could have started this. She thought the Voices would have gone away once she finally woke up, and while as soaked as she was proved she definitely wasn’t daydreaming, They still hadn’t stopped. Before she came down and met her parents though, there was still that strange dream that had started this whole mess. What else could she remember from that meeting? There was something important she’d been missing. The boy, one she hadn’t seen since, said she’d had some kind of “accident.” How there was nothing to stop her from “slipping” again. Is that what was happening to her now? Was she in a perpetual danger of losing her grip on reality? Perish the thought, but it still made her shudder to think about. It was possible though, right? She’d heard stories how her grandfather had heard voices and traveled to “other worlds” but her family also liked to tease he was crazy. A lot of big fish stories from his Ranger days. She did love those stories though...]
Honey:
[Not realizing she’s talking out loud.] Hm… I miss him…
Youngster Alex:
Awww that defeat was crushing!
Honey:
Huh? [it would appear HA had won in a struggle to the death, and she almost felt sorry for not paying attention.] Um… Awesome? I guess? I’m sorry, I really should be going.
Alex:
You suuuuure you don’t want a rematch?
Honey:
No! I’m trying to find someone right now. [Didn’t mean to come so sharply, but she was NOT going to risk another blackout now.] Maybe some other time, alright?
[But which way now? She’d been going in circles for what felt like hours, and if she’d had any sense left, she would have asked someone for directions. Ah, well, it couldn’t be helped. At least she could finally see the massive stone pillars through the trees and hurried as best she could.]
Honey:
Blake! [slows down as she sees who’s with him.] INVENTOR…?
Blake:
[Honestly surprised to see she followed them, but at the same time rather excited to see her. The girl seemed to be quite a fan of his, and now he had the chance to show off for her.] Honey! Perfect timing~! Look up there.
Honey:
[As she’d been chasing him on a rescue mission, she’s officially lost on what to say now that she can see their frozen companion isn’t in any danger at all. Blake’s command to take a look though draws her attention to the man in orange from before.] Team…Fusion?
Blake:
Afraid so. As I suspected, another grunt snuck in while our backs were turned. I think he’s up to no good. [Honey gives a nod of agreement, prompting Blake to give her a cheeky grin.] Do you want to see an Elite Four member in action? [She looks at him in surprise.] Come with me. INVENTOR, you should stay back since you have no Pokemon. Just to be safe.
INVENTOR:
By all means. I surely want nothing to do with them!
Honey:
[Gives a slight squeak as Blake takes her by the hand and leads her up to the large tablet where they quickly attempt to surround the man. Taking a note from Blake's earlier bark of command when dealing with them, tries to get the guy's attention.] Uh… St-stop right there!
Blake:
[As the grunt looks at them both in surprise, Blake smugly shifts his weight to one leg and casually stares the guy down.] I thought I ran you scum off with your tail between your legs.
Grunt:
[Is not intimidated by him AT ALL. Matching his confidence with a grin.] I came back for the information I was employed to get. They’ll welcome me back at headquarters as a hero. I have no time to play games with the League for now. [Before Blake can make a grab for him, he quickly leaps off the side of the steps to go around them and just as quickly disappears.] So long, idiots~!
Honey:
[Manages to catch Blake as he nearly loses his balance off the steps in trying to catch the man.] Are you okay?
Blake:
[That didn’t go as planned AT ALL, but brushes the front of his suit to look not so kerfuffled by the escape.] Perfectly fine. He’s gone now either way, so we should all be safe now.
INVENTOR:
[Hurries up to them all excited.] Good job, you two! It looked like you scared him off good and proper~! I think I’m done here for now after things got so nasty. I would like to thank you though for your effort. You can be the receiver of my latest invention! [Starts digging through his side bag and pulls out a few other curious "toys" before finding what he's looking for.]
Blake:
Oh, I need no thanks, it’s part of my job. But with Honey just starting her journey, I’m sure she would love to have anything you can offer.
Honey:
[Takes the unusual looking device and looks it over. Some kind of weird... microphone? It has a cord so she can loop it over her head.] Huh… what does it do?
INVENTOR:
That is what I call the PokeComm! It’s a device I made that translates Pokemon speech into human speech and vice versa.
Blake:
[Honestly impressed.] Really? That sounds amazing!
Honey:
[It does sound amazing, but she’s not sure what to think after speaking with her Turtwig already a time or two. But! It could be helpful if she ran into other Pokemon right?] Thank you, sir. I’m sure it’ll be very helpful.
INVENTOR:
Good girl. I will be returning to my home now. I’ll feel much happier where I can work in peace.
Blake:
I’ll escort you back then. [Gives the girl a nod.] It was a pleasure to meet you, Honey. I hope you enjoy looking around for a bit after all the trouble you took to get here.
Honey:
I think I will. It was nice meeting you~!
[As the pair leaves again, she’s relieved to see there’s no awkward freeze this time, and takes a moment to look over the surrounding ruins from the top of the stairs. Sure did look like an odd setup, but perhaps there’d been a roof at one point to make it a complete building. She turns her gaze back to the large stone tablet behind her. It’s writing so foreign, so worn, it was hard to believe such an unintelligible hunk of rock was worth fighting over. Then again, she’d never been big on history before, and she almost regretted not even knowing what this place was supposed to be.]
Honey:
[Reaches up to run a hand over the soft carving of a star, a diamond perhaps, as she looks at all the intricate designs.] These ruins really are amazing… But why are they in the swamp of all places?
[Ask and ye shall receive in the worst possible way. No sooner had her hand left the tablet, she could feel a rumble, a shaking, a crack like thunder as everything around her began to be engulfed in a blinding light! Honey rushed her arms up to shield her face, and peered through the light at the various visitors of the ruins. No one saw this? No one even flinched?! Before she could so much as give a cry out to anyone, her whole body was charged with the energy. She could only brace herself, praying the Voices had only been joking about “dying” before, and watched as the world went blank.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know why INVENTOR amused me so much to have his name in all caps like all the time, but he just seems stupidly proud and quirky enough to do that. Because, you know, he is THE inventor in these lands apparently. Meanwhile, Honey's time in the swamp is uh..... suffering to be honest. We're also getting a few hints to the obvious forced lore that'll be playing a larger role later on. |D;;
Honey GLITched: Prologue
[As Honey finished getting dressed and was just about to grab her purse to leave for her big day, she paused as the lights seemed to flicker. Everything seemed to go dark… no… light. The room seemed to be shaking as a bright light started to encompass her. Soft whisperings crept in from every corner, filling the growing white space with noise as it seeped into her brain. Her head was pounding. Everything started to ache. She must have not woken up for real that morning, because surely this was some kind of nightmare! She placed her hands over her eyes to shield herself from hot energy and braced herself for whatever might come next. Just as suddenly as it all started though, it stopped.
Honey opened her eyes, though her mind now swam with daydreams of Eevee, Slaking, and strange whispering voices, to find she was somehow outside. Not just outside, but on some wide, tree lined pathway leading to a huge park sign she couldn’t quite read. The only life in sight was a simple teenage boy she’d never met before trying to head to the park.]
Honey:
[Dream or not, maybe he could tell her something.] E-excuse me!
???:
What the-?! What are you doing here?
Honey:
I don’t know. I thought you could tell me.
???:
[Soft whistle to himself] Ooh, this is bad. I’ve never done a person before. [Louder as he walks up to her and places a hand on her shoulder.] You’re probably in a lot of pain right now and wondering where you are. But hear me out: You are going. to be. okay. Okay?
Honey:
[That doesn’t answer anything but…] Okay? I feel fine now, just a little dizzy.
???:
Huh… That’s weird. But that’s… good? You’re probably going to be a bit “dizzy” the rest of the day, but I’ll get you back safely. Just hang on to me, count to three. [She nods in understanding] One… two… three…
[There’s the weird light again and the feeling of being sucked into a current. Various screams of “Whee!” ring in her ears before everything abruptly stops. Honey opens her eyes again, almost feeling sick, but there’s no denying she’s back in her room. … With the strange boy she didn’t know.]
???
This is the place, right?
Honey:
[Very matter-of-factly as she hoped dream boy didn’t get any ideas.] This is my bedroom. How-
???:
I can’t stay long so I’ll try to be brief. You somehow managed to slip from your universe into mine from in here. I don’t know how since I know you didn’t go through the same gateway I did. The thing that worries me is that since you managed to slip through once, there might be nothing to stop you from slipping again.
Honey:
[Considering she was probably dreaming all this, it made about  as much sense as anything.] Okay, but how did you-?
???:
I’ve stayed too long. If we meet again, I promise I’ll explain things better. Gotta go. Stand back. [As she quickly hops onto the bed to stay clear, he gives her a friendly little wave. The light forms under his feet.] Bye~!
Honey:
[Still confused as she waves him off and shields her face from the light as it flashed. Just as mysteriously as it happened, he was gone.] Bye… [Welp, that was a thing, and her head was still literally screaming with what felt like hundreds of tiny voices telling her to get a move on. To what, she wasn't sure, but she curled up under the covers and hoped she’d feel better when she woke up for real.]
~~~~~~~~~
Let's see how many of these I can do before the weekend. Prologue because seems too short to be a chapter, and it's really just the opening cutscene anyway so things haven't really started yet. o3o

Honey GLITched: First Sign of Trouble
[Things had been strange all morning. Honey felt she was floating through things; a strange boy telling her he was going to take her home; running down the street to receive her starter, a Pikachu in a red scarf holding her parents hostage… Wait, what?]
???:
Hey you! Did you see a Pikachu around here with a scarf?
Honey:
Yeah, I already scared it off... Why, was it yours?
???:
[softly] Damn… [aloud] Nah, I just wanted to catch it. It seemed pretty special. Had a weird cry and everything! But if it’s gone, guess we’ll just have to look around later. By the way, what’s your name?
Honey:
[Odd kid, but she had the feeling he must have just started out too. Bright eyed and eager to prove himself. She kind of smiles at him.] Ahuni, but everyone calls me Honey.
Percy:
Well, my name’s Percy, [nods down to the Pokemon at his feet] and this my partner Cyndaquil! Since we missed out on that Pikachu, how about we fight you instead? What do you say, Foe C?
Honey:
I only have the one right now. I just got a Turtwig this morning.
Percy:
Newbie, huh? I guess we’re just a couple of late bloomers then. I’ll take it easy on you~ Get us both some experience.
Honey:
Sounds like fun~!
=+=
[Honey may have lost the battle, but she awoke in her bed almost like it had been another dream. The battle felt so real she couldn’t stop thinking about it as she made her way downstairs. Again, it felt like. She could have sworn it actually happened. Her parents greeting her, going to the lab… she HAD gone to the lab, because she had her a brand new starter Pokemon! So when did she come back home? Leaving again, she wandered town for a bit to collect her thoughts. As Professor Willow’s new errand girl, he gave her a starter and asked her to… to… Oh! Pick up some new Pokedexes from the INVENTOR! She’d been to Chocco Town plenty of times to know exactly where to find him.]
Percy:
Hey! Did you see a Pikachu around here with a scarf?
Honey:
I did…?
[Even if this wasn’t a dream, as the boy called for the challenge again, Honey hardly paid attention to the battle she went on to lose. Again, she woke up at home. Her mind instead wandered back to a different boy, possibly the one she was thinking of when she thought she was seeing things. Taking a moment to sit on the bed and thinking the “dream” over she vaguely remembered the odd teen telling her she would be dizzy all day. A headache was one thing, but these blackouts and persistent whisperings were something quite worrisome. Wandering the room revealed that everything was exactly as she had left it before: Starter Poke Ball, running shoes, so it had happened to some extent. This was almost getting eerie.]
Mom:
[Attending to the hedges outside their house when she notices her come down the stairs… again.] Honey! What are you doing back here? I thought you left for Chocco Town.
Honey:
[Just stares at her a moment, her mind swimming as the hundreds of tiny voices were shouting “Hi, Mom!” while a handful were telling her to make a break for it. She runs a hand under her bangs, feeling her forehead as she pretended to shade her eyes from the sun.] Just lost like always. Say, did you guys run into a Pikachu this morning?
Mom:
[In good humor] This morning? That was a less than an hour ago.
Honey:
[Sure felt a lot longer.] Just making sure. I don’t think I’m awake yet.
Mom:
[Honey’s attempt to check herself doesn’t go unnoticed, and her mother quickly removes a glove to run a hand under her bangs as if to check for herself if she had a fever then. Seems fine, and moves her hand to the girl’s cheek. Just gives her a bit of a smile and a nod.] Maybe you should have eaten instead of running right out of bed. You sure you don’t want to take something for the road?
Honey:
Nah, I just need to get moving and see if I can shake off this sluggishness. I’ll see you sometime tonight~!
=+=
[As her mother waves her off, Honey goes again down the grassy trail, her Turtwig trotting beside her as she was ready for them.]
Percy:
Hey! Did you see a Pikachu around here?
[Right on cue, the exact same curve in the Forest Pass. As the battle commences, she can’t help but glare daggers at this pair after bothering her so much. What did they want from her? Percy didn’t even seem to realize she’d met them before, and by now she was certain she had. Of all the strange things that had been bothering her since that morning though, what happened then was the most startling. The Cyndaquil glared back at them with a Leer when… everything stopped. Just for a moment, she swore, but definitely stopped. She glances over at Percy to be certain that it wasn’t part of the attack. He stands there, frozen in his smugness as he clenches his fists in anticipation of victory. Unaware of what would happen if he did. Her mind could only scream “FREEZE! FREEZE! FREEZE!” over and over again as she waited for some surprise build up to his attack. She had to make sure he couldn’t win this time, and swiftly had Turtwig Tackle the Cyndaquil to the ground. The world moved again, though it seemed to flicker and flash and suddenly everything turned blue! It was over though, and when she could see again, she was relieved to find herself still on the route with Percy.]
Honey:
What… [gazing around at everything; the trees, the sky, the ground, and finally looks back to Percy in bewilderment.] Wh-what was that about?!
Percy:
Holy smokes! [For a moment she thought he was going to comment about the lighting, but instead he kneels down beside his partner.] You really are strong! Foe C, you okay?
Honey:
Eh….. y-yeah. I guess we are. [If he didn’t think twice about that odd light show, then she could only assume it was intentional.] Foe C sure um… those were some moves they used back there, huh? I didn’t think we hit him that hard, did we?
Percy:
Nah, we’re cool. Right, buddy? [the Cyndaquil happily agrees] But even with the type advantage, your little guy didn’t even flinch! Definitely worthy to be my rival. [Stops himself a moment] You are planning to do the gym challenge too, aren’t you? I mean, who doesn’t? Of course, if we’re going to be competing, I better get going to Oceanview City! Anyway, it was nice meeting you, Honey~!
Honey:
[She hesitates in trying to find a good place to interrupt him, hoping to ask if he saw ANY of that during the battle, battles, whatever. Instead, she never gets in a word before the odd boy had already run off.] …. I don’t think he knew…. [glances down at the Turtwig] Did you?

Honey GLITched: A Whole New World
Honey:
[No rain this time, but as she opens her eyes, she can see that she’s gone from being at the edge of a quiet bay area to the middle of a large residential area with no water in sight. No one seems to have noticed her yet, despite the fact she can see kids playing in fenced areas, and a couple of people hanging out in front of their houses. She looks down at her hands and confirms she seems pretty solid.] I m-must have slipped again…
[It didn’t make sense though since, at least as far as she knew, Team Fusion wasn’t anywhere in the Seaspray area! Unless Chelle had something to do with it, but that seemed unlikely. No reason to panic, it would only cause a scene. After waiting for Luke to show up though, there came a loud honk behind her causing her to jump. Oh, a car! She hadn't expected to see one of those outside of the city before! The driver gave her a wave and motioned for her to step aside. Honey had no choice but to quietly and nervously move from the safety of her gateway again. Without Luke.]
Honey:
[As she started to walk down the the street, too timid to stray too far yet, she began to take note of the neighborhood. There were more cars than expected, some even sitting right in front of people‘s houses. She also realized the distinct lack of Pokemon sounds from anywhere nearby, or even in sight. Maybe the town had a restriction on keeping them out of their Poke Balls? But there were plenty of fences, so… As she wandered in a bit of a daze, it took her a few minutes to see that there was at least ONE Pokemon in the area, a Poochyena the old man beside it had on a long blue string.] Awww, a Poochyena~! I’ve never seen one that color before.
Man:
[Smiles at the girl] Ah, not afraid then? I’m surprised you even have a guess to what it is. I’m not sure what he is. Bit of a mutt I found a couple of weeks back. He’s friendly though, do you want to pet him?
Honey:
Um… sure? [After kneeling down in front of “him” though, she can’t help but notice there’s something really “off” about the dog but she still can’t pinpoint what. Poor little thing seemed to be blind as his eyes naturally tried to stay shut, and the sliver she could see held a glossy hollowness similar to a doll’s eyes.] Did you get lost, little one?
Uxie:
[Was surprised to hear someone remembers the species’ name, and curiously sniffs the girl over. It’s voice doesn’t come out loud like usual, but instead speaks directly into her mind.] I’m not lost. I can tell you shouldn’t be here though. [Gets up on the illusion’s hind legs to place both front paws in her hands. It looks down the street from them] I can sense the house you’re looking for would be two doors down that way.
Honey:
[looks down the street as well] Oh! I think I’ve been going the wrong the way.
Man:
Where you off to? I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before.
Honey:
Um… I… think it’s two doors down? I’m not familiar with the neighborhood, but I’m looking for… my, uh, my cousin! Luke. Have you seen him today?
Man:
[Uh...huh. What an odd girl. As he follows her gaze up the street, that is Yate’s house she seems to looking for. Gives her a bit of a smile.] Sounds like you’ve got the right place. I just saw him pass here, a couple of times actually. I think he’s looking for something too.
Honey:
[Whew, good thing the dog knew then. Speaking of…] Okay, thanks! Bye, shiny pooch~! [Runs her hand playfully between it’s pointed ears as she loved to do with BBC. The dog gives an odd high-pitched bark as she starts to leave and she notices something almost shine in the road. It….it’s a whole set of keys on a silver ring. One of them even has a tag on it. Musing to herself as she heads over the bridge and flips through them] RAM, Westlock, Locke Tight... I guess I need these to get inside the houses…
Luke:
[As odd as it was to overhear that soft musing of home invasion, it’s even more odd to realize he recognizes that voice. Turns to see the girl in pink wandering down his street] …. Helixdomit. [hurries over to her before she gets herself in trouble] Honey! Honey, what are you doing here?!
Honey:
[Brightens up] Luke! I’m so glad I found you~!
Luke:
[Realizes that, even worse, it’s HIS keys she’s managed to pick up] And I’m glad you found those. [takes them from her] I don’t mean to be rude, but we’ve got to get you back as quickly as possible.
Honey:
Why?
Luke:
B-because you just can’t-! Look, it’s one thing when it’s just us, but this is my house. If you things start showing up here, I can’t hide that!
Honey:
Things?! [He gently takes her by the arm to lead her down the street, but she just as quickly pulls away from him again.] Luke! What is going on? Did you find out something? Is that why you're freaking out now? Why don't you just tell me?
Luke:
[Trying to hold back his panic, his voice comes out in a slight squeak as he hisses at her between clenched teeth.] I just said, but you still---- gah! [Still keeping his voice low, he gives a glance around before going to unlock the door.] Fine. Let’s at least go inside. We’ll probably be in trouble when you get home, but fine.
=+=
[The house is quite dark once they get inside, despite all of its windows seen from the outside, and Honey finds herself gazing over the unusual layout as Luke makes his way from room to room and flips on the lights. His voice echoes as he calls for anyone else possibly in the building. There’s quite a few movies stacked by the television, but on the coffee table, it seems Luke had been watching some old documentaries. Old enough to require a different device than those with the shinier covers, and apparently all featuring the same rugged looking blond that likely hosted them. She also realizes there's a whole array of pictures sitting on a bookshelf, while a few more hang on the walls. Someone was quite the avid photographer. Images that only seem to contain people and lovely, though empty, landscapes. …One in particular catches her eye though as she slowly walks over and takes it down from the wall.]
Honey:
[She’d been staring at it for a while when he returned with the all clear, as she was still unsure she wasn’t just imagining it.] Hey, Luke? [He glances over at her as she finds herself starting to tremble at the eeriness of it. Turns the picture in hand around so he can see what photo she’s talking about] Why do you have a picture of my grandparents on your wall?
Luke:
YOUR grandparents? [Stares at it as he walks over, half in a huff at her apparent need to go touching things when she wasn’t even really invited in to begin with. As it’s a group photo, he starts to ask who she means. It was pretty old, a picture of his grandparents along with several old friends of the family when they were younger. He looks up at Honey though and realizes she does bear a bit of resemblance to the blonde woman with an arm around his grandmother’s shoulders. But… that shouldn’t have been possible, should it?]
Honey:
Yeah, they have this exact same photo at their house. [points at the woman as well.] That’s my grandmother. And up here is my grandfather and-
Luke:
I uh… I don’t know. [Takes it from her to get a better look. Goes to hang it up.] Neither of our families would would have been around for the Great Catastrophe to have met, so unless they figured out a way to travel between the two worlds…. [His eyes light up with the realization as he remembers something rather important.] The chick in the picture- you’re sure that’s your grandma? Was your grandmother a woman named Lillie?
Honey:
[Confused by the sudden question, but she’s unsure what to make of his expression.] ...Yes? I know my dad gives my mom a hard time about our family’s history, but my grandmother really did disappear for several months when she was about twelve years old. Supposedly she was off in another world until a friend of hers was able to help her get back.
Luke:
And your last name, your family name, whatever. Is it Niles?
Honey:
Nigel Niles was my grandfather? [Brightens a bit as she’d never properly introduced herself before.] My name is Honey Glazed though-
Luke:
[Mildly amused] I am so sorry.
Honey:
[Soft huff at him] It’s Ahuni Glazed, but my family has always called me Honey. My mom’s name changed when she got married. It’s not weird back home, but what does my name have to do with what you found out?
Luke:
Mostly because I may act like I know everything since I’ve been doing this longer than you; and learned to control the ability to slip between worlds; but I’ve been discovering that I really don’t.
Honey:
Don’t have control, or don’t know everything? Because if you have some tips to help me stop walking through walls, that’d be great. [Although it was nice to know that the ability could be controlled after a while.]
Luke:
Walk through… Wait… What?
Honey:
[Rather bewildered as she might still be crazy yet] You don’t have that problem? Signs, boats, potted plants, I’ve had a lot over the past couple of weeks. Sometimes reality just seems to implode on itself.
Luke:
[Eying her warily, not because he doesn’t believe her, but because it’s worrisome for himself that this could still happen to him.] Um…. No? I just sometimes slip between worlds. I think I’m starting to get an idea as to why you might though… Here, you might want to sit for this.
Honey:
[Doesn’t like the look he was giving her, and slowly moves over to the couch to sit down]
Luke:
Hooooo ‘kay then. So where we are now is what I call The Real World. [Holds up a hand to stop her from asking] It was discovered during The Great Catastrophe that a second world exists completely contained within a machine. Some kind of virtual world-- More like a simulator of our own. Do you guys even have those? [waves it off] Point is, your world was created some time before my world even knew about it, and we only found out about it when some madman somehow opened the box and caused your kind to come spilling out into the [air quotes] “Real World.” It’s just… you’re still in a computer. And as far as my world is concerned, beings from your world are a threat because they’re not natural. It’s why we can’t risk having you show up in public like this, because I can’t have people looking into this, it’s not safe. But honestly, if you guys are able to get out here in the first place, you’ve gotta have some kind of divine backing that makes you as real as we are.
Honey:
… … … So the reason everything around me likes to go completely haywire is because… it’s... a…Glitch?
Luke:
…. Yes…. [Guess she got caught up on the computer thing, but honestly, he doesn’t blame her.] The more important reason we shouldn’t stay long in the others’ world is because I don’t know how that affects the connection. That was part of problem with The Great Catastrophe. Ever since then, sometimes when things happen in one world, it reflects on the other. You being here means you’re missing from the simulator’s programming. Me falling into your world would also mess up the programming since I’m an anomaly.
Honey:
In my world, we’ve always said that the gods had things predetermined for many of us, but I’ve noticed lately that there’s literally some people and places I can’t avoid. But! Just before I came here, something different happened. I actually got to talk to the girl and-
Luke:
Oh gods please tell me you haven’t reached a point of awareness you’ve started to manipulate the game.
Honey:
If I have, it’s certainly not on purpose! I can’t even figure out how to control myself, let alone anyone else. And my people seem to laugh at the idea of there being a world outside our own. [Suddenly remembers what Blake said back when he brought it up] Although there’s apparently a group right now that’s been studying parallel worlds….
Luke:
That could be serious, serious trouble then if they are. [Starts to pace the length of the coffee table as just thinking about it is getting him all worked up, let alone having to admit his fears] See, the worlds were never meant to be connected, not like this anyway. Connected, but at a distance. It seems now there’s a very powerful force at work that’s been bringing them dangerously close to each other. Almost like the two worlds are trying to merge again! And, and, and I hate to say this but I’m worried that-- even if I have no control over it -- I caused you to glitch when we first ran into each other. That wasn’t supposed to happen, I’ve knocked you off-script. AND-! [stops long enough to look to her] Even if you’re the only person to accidentally come over here, it’s been getting worse. The slips have been happening more frequently, and I’ve spent a lot of time lately trying to get all of the loose Pokemon back into your world. We can’t have another Catastrophe, Honey, I can’t handle it. I can barely handle things on my own right now.
Honey:
[As there’s over a thousand things she wants to comment on, or start asking him about, it hurts her to see him like this. Every time they’d met before, he’d always been so calm and sure of the situation it’s strange to see him so scared. Tries to give him a smile.] But… you’re not doing this on your own, that’s what you have me for. And, um… Just because things are unstable right now, doesn’t mean it’s going to get that bad. [Points over to the picture they’d been looking over back on the wall] I wouldn’t blame yourself for things either, since obviously it’s happened before. We don’t even know who made the jump in the first place, but that picture had to come from one side or the other, right?
Luke:
… [Sighs] True, but I think it’s because back then all of our relatives had to have the aid of a Legendary to make the jump. We just started doing it naturally. Although, after it happened the first time, I started digging through Pops’ old stuff to see if I could find out what the hell happened to me. [Looks to her] Back when my grandfather was a trainer, the term they used was Faller.
Honey:
And we’re Fallers because we’ve “fallen” out of our worlds.
Luke:
I guess? Except there’s usually a catch. A Faller is apparently someone who has managed to enter the Void, it’s like the abyss that separates our worlds, or something. Home to such creatures that can’t be categorized as Pokemon. We bridged the gap just fine, but we still had to pass through it. Not everyone is so lucky. Well, when a human goes to these “inbetween worlds,” it can really mess them up; screwing with memories, genetics, painting a large target on them that tells the creatures of the Void to hone in on them like a beacon, who knows what else. But since Pops and Lillie entered what he called the Ultra Space with the aide of a very powerful Pokemon, they weren’t nearly as messed up as others have been.
Honey:
[corrects him] And Nigel. So, don’t you think our tendency to slip could have carried down to me instead of you supposedly dragging me into this?
Luke:
[Softly nods] And it might be why I started falling in the first place....
Honey:
[Atta boy~!] What about my mother then? Or your parents even? Do you think we could ask them for help with all of this?
Luke:
Well, as I told you the first time, since you’ve already done it once, it’ll probably keep happening. If she hasn’t had it happen yet, she’s probably still unaware of all this. I know I’m worried any time my dad is out of the house, but it’s possible they still could. Worst part is, I’m starting to get the feeling we’re not the only ones aware of this. The only ones slipping between worlds, but I think a few people around here have started to pick up on my leaving.
Honey:
Then we should at least ask them about the Legendary Pokemon. If they’re able to travel between worlds, then it’s possible one of them is behind the merging, right?
Luke:
Except that would require me to go to your world.
Honey:
I don’t see why you’d have to. After all, if your grandfather had the aide of a Legendary, then we can’t just assume the trouble is only on my side.
Luke:
[Shyly glances away as he’s not sure how to tell her] He did… But it’s not possible anymore for our side to cause trouble because Pokemon no longer exist here.
Honey:
[She just stares at him a moment about how crazy that seemed.] How is that even possible? I just saw one down the street. And what about the Mudkip?
Luke:
……. [Sighs again as that’s yet another he’ll have to track down and send back, but he makes a mental note to look into that later.] They came from your world. I’m still trying to investigate what happened, but here… they just all vanished I guess. The people here haven’t known about Pokemon for over a generation, or mock those who still talk about them, so I haven’t had much luck besides just looking around on my own. They keep showing up here in our world, but if people found out about them… I can’t let that happen.
Honey:
[Confused as all she can think about is the nice old man she met earlier] Or else… what?
Luke:
Remember how I said what happens in one world can sometimes affect the other? If we’re not careful, whatever caused them to disappear from here may happen on your side too… [Just shakes his head at her] But on that note, can I ask you a big, big favor? Can you report anything you find back to me? People, Pokemon, anything that could be of help. We need to get to the bottom of all this quick or things are going to get dire.
Honey:
How am I supposed to get it to you though?
Luke:
Write me a letter or something, I’m sure you’ll pop up here again. Right now, let’s try to see if you can open the gateway on your own this time. If you go back to where you came in, it should still be there.
Honey:
Can you not just come with me?
Luke:
…. … … [It sure is tempting, but no. If he suddenly disappeared for the long journey, his dad would probably assume the worst had happened. Shakes his head] Last time I was over there, I noticed my world seems to have the better archives. I’ve got a lot of work to do before we meet again. [He gives a last, thoughtful gaze about his house as something else seems to be weighing on his mind] A lot more questions too… I’ll walk you to the door and make sure you make it back.
Honey:
Hm… I guess I’ll see you whenever then. Just hang in there, we’ll figure things out. Okay?
Luke:
Thanks… And be careful out there, I’ve got a bad feeling about all of this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Whoohoo! I'm glad it all fit. Now who wants some F 0 R C E L 0 R E for breakfast? 8D -shot-
Apologies for info dumping, but seeing as Luke is /technically/ the one always responsible for explaining things, it had to come up somewhere. ... But his in-game dialogue is either always vague or repetitive, so you all get this. I wasn't kidding when I said that BG has probably been the one run that's helped me straighten out my entire timeline, so.... again, I apologize in advance |D;;
Honey GLITched: Off Script
[Professor Willow was surprisingly understanding about the delivery delay once Honey explained about their misadventures on the Haunted Isle. Perhaps it was because he seemed to already know of the dangers and abnormalities when he sent them there, or maybe she just felt better about talking after her chat with Blake, but Honey found herself telling him everything that happened with the “illusions” included. A very mysterious place indeed. More importantly though was the fact that Team Fusion had escaped with their leader now known to their little triad.]
Willow:
And you say this only started on Haunted Isle?
Honey:
[The tone of intrigue and suspicion to his tone only surprised her all the more.] Um… yes? Of course, it wouldn't make sense for it to happen anywhere else, since you said Haunted Isle is kind of known for messing with people's brains.
Willow:
[Seems to think about that for a moment before giving her a somewhat uncertain shrug.] I suppose so then. I suggest you take off for the rest of the day as, if time really does pass differently on the isle, you’ve had a full day already. Don't you worry about Ms. Flo, she’s not even looking for me yet.
Honey:
Are you sure you're alright, Professor?
Willow:
A bit absent minded lately, but we’ve had a lot of work to keep track of too. I appreciate the concern, but you take care of yourself first. And if you see Blake before I do, would you tell him to come by? I would like to hear his side of the story as well.
Honey:
Oh, um… sure I guess. But he never made it off the beach, so I don’t know how much help it would be.
Willow:
[Amused] You act as though he’s going to get you in trouble. It’s alright, Honey, anything you say here will stay between you and me. I just always like to draw in as much help as possible, especially on a case as strange as this one. The more people who input on a project, the more we can see of the big picture. [Can still see this is somewhat bothering her] Of course… that doesn’t mean you have to go enlisting people for me, but I would suggest you accept help whenever it presents itself. One can never have too many allies, I would think.
Honey:
I’ll try to keep that in mind. [Gives him a half-hearted smile] Thanks, Professor.
Willow:
I’m always here to help if you need me. Just let me know when you reach the dam, alright?
Honey:
Don’t worry, I will~!
[Despite the vote of confidence, Honey still couldn’t bring herself to talk to her parents about the strange happenings there on the Haunted Isle. It was less from the fear they wouldn’t believe her, but that they actually would. Even if she was more than old enough to strike out on her own, some small voice within her wondered if they’d tell her to stay away from Blake or Professor Willow after all the danger she’d been going through. It was… kind of exciting really now that she was getting more used to it all. And even with how scary everything had been, Honey found herself starting to wonder just what might happen once she reached Seaspray Town. As she tried to go to sleep that night, her mind continued to buzz with visions of a massive river and the gym battle ahead. What adventures could she expect next?]
=+=
[Of course, passing through Serenity Isle, fate deemed that she hadn’t had quite enough of rude women for the week as she finally made her way to Seaspray Town! For the first time, for the third time, however time even worked anymore considering she knew exactly what to expect THIS time when she got off the boat.]
Honey:
Chelle?
Chelle:
Well hey there, Honey! Fancy meeting you all the way out here! Off to get your third badge? [Puffs up with snide pride as she places a hand to her chest] I beat both Terry and Spark with only my Bayleef, it was a total piece of cake! And Flo was no real challenge either. Shame for you though, she’s busy now with the dam. Why don’t you take me on instead?
Honey:
[Patiently waits for her to finish without interruption as she’d learned before it was no use trying.] Actually, I need to go to the dam anyway for a delivery. I’m in no hurry.
Chelle:
No hurry? But who am I going to race if you're not even trying?
Honey:
[Honestly surprised she got a chance to get in a word this time as the previous run-ins-that-apparently-never-happened proved that no wasn’t an option. Honey was more than ready to take this smug little green girl down. Something had changed. She gives a moment of thought before brightening up.] There’s a boy I’ve been running into named Percy. He’s got a Cyndaquil he runs around with and likes to call me his rival.
Chelle:
Sounds like a pain. [Grins] Guess I’ll have to keep an eye out for him. But hey, since we're here now, how about a quick battle to get us pumped up?
Honey:
[Smiles as she feels they're finally getting to know each other now.] Sure!
[If Chelle thought her starter was hot stuff, she hadn’t seen anything once Honey’s newly evolved big buddy, Sap, took the field. The rest of the match was almost a joke.]
Chelle:
[Recalling her Frogadier] Wooow! Good thing for you, my Pokemon were still tired after the gym battle.
Honey:
[Playfully] I’m sure you're right. Speaking of, could you tell me where the dam is?
Chelle:
[Places hands on her hips and stoops forward] You’ll just have to find Flo like the rest of us. I’m on my way to Stormy City for my next gym badge!
Honey:
[A bit of a giggle as she should have expected that.] Good luck then! Tell Percy hi for me! [After Chelle is gone though, she leans down to give Sap a gentle pat] How do we keep finding these people anyway?
Sap:
I don’t know, but I’ve an odd feeling there should be a third one showing up somewhere. [also heaves a soft little sigh, but it’s more from relief than anything] Do you mind checkpointing in Seaspray Town before I faint this time?
Honey:
[Bit of a giggle] Hey, I’ve gotten better about that. Here, take it easy. [recalls him.]
[As she starts to make her way along the concrete dock, she starts humming to herself in confidence. Blake and Professor Willow and her parents were going to be so surprised to see how her team was shaping up in such a small amount of time. She was feeling quite proud of them too~! Her gentle air of bliss was suddenly cut short though when she thought she saw a flicker.
Honey paused and tried to look around as it seemed like the ground beneath her was shaking. That was normal for a dock though, right? Just bobbing with the waves? Much as she tried to convince herself of that, she knew better by now. The light flashed again and all the girl could think to do was brace herself for the inevitable as the world she knew disappeared into the surrounding white.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Wheeee transition chapter! This one is a bit short but mostly because the next one... is a bit of a doozy. It's time to L0RE >O
In the meantime though, Chelle is... kind of interesting. I can't remember, but I don't think we face her again after this because the next time we run into her iirc was an optional battle we decided not to do, so she was sort of an in-your-face rival who just as suddenly... stopped. It's nice to give a reason (as well as seeing the girls get along. Really, Honey, you have like NO gal pals, what gives? XD )

Honey GLITched: Questions, Errands, and Things a Bit Strange
[As much as Honey didn't WANT to do the errand for Melanie, the Voices seemed very intent she complied. At least all her training at the Lighthouse now was getting the group some combat experience, but while she purposefully procrastinated on shopping, it seemed like a good chance to get in some practice of her own. She slips delicately through the sign announcing the challenge, clenching her hands afterward to see she was still visually solid, and tried out her "ghosting" ability with more speed.]
Honey:
Hmmm… [looks at her hands after stepping back through the sign to where her team sat waiting] It doesn’t hurt or anything, but you guys can see it, can’t you?
AA Shroom:
See…. what?
Sap:
[Just shakes his head at her]
Honey:
Oh…
Sap:
I see you pushing your limits just fine, I just wish you wouldn’t play with it. What do you think this is? A lingering effect from whatever they did to you on Haunted Isle, or a sign that you’re about to jump again?
Honey:
[Glances down at BBC testing how solid the Lighthouse’s logo actually is, while the Voices scream at her that “It’s a SIIIIIGN” … Of what? Hadn’t really thought about that yet] I’m glad you’re the voice of reason, cause I don’t think I have one.
Manga:
[Looks at AA Shroom] So what do you see when she does that?
AA Shroom:
She just slid under the sign? I see kids do that all the time with the signpost back home. Right, Huggabug?
Hugbug:
[Nodnodnod]
BBC:
You two are also the newest, so it may be more obvious to those of us who’ve been exposed to this for some time.
Honey:
[Playful huff] Don’t say it like that, you make it sound like I’m dirty or something. [thoughtfully as she glances away] Although I feel kind of bad to think you all are slowly being pulled into this too…
Sap:
Why? I should think it a very good thing. If you can only stand up to Team Fusion because of your strange ability, then wouldn’t it be better if we gained it too so we can protect you?
Honey:
[Wry grin as she scratches the side of her cheek as she doesn’t want to offend the others, but it’s true] Except… you’re the only one who’s been protecting me.
Manga:
[Steals Aiden’s pen and starts swishing it like a sword] Someday I will! When I get all big, I’ll protect you from anything!
Aiden:
Gimme that. [takes it back]
BBC:
[Soft snicker to him] Oh let him have his fun. You don’t need to record any of this anyway.
Aiden:
[holds up page for the anchor to read] Oh, I wasn’t working on the report, I’m just getting some notes for later. See, judging by our records in the Lighthouse Challenge, Manga and I should have probably evolved a while ago. Also, even if there’s been some weird things for our group, none of us have started phasing through objects like Honey, we just seem to notice when she does. You think the energy affects us differently?
Honey:
[Sighs] That’d be our luck, wouldn’t it? Who do you two even report to anyway?
BBC:
Huh? Oh, I have a huge following back home. [Aiden suddenly pulls up a photo with several Poochyena and a pair of Mightyena with a banner wishing her luck] And you seem to be aware of the constant presence from those who need to be informed. I may not be the strongest member of our group, but I can certainly help in that. [looks up to no one in particular and gives a happy] I love you guys~~!
Honey:
[Would want to question the poor pooch’s sanity, but she’s suddenly hit with a number of Voices happily squeal to realize Doggo loves them too!] …. … … Huh. Learn something new everyday.
Hugbug:
[Gets just high enough on her back legs to motion for Honey to carry her]
Honey:
[Happily complies] Come here, big baby. [Looks down at the others with the Venipede resting on her hip] So what do you all suppose we do now?
Manga:
I wanna try the Lighthouse again. I wanna see if Aiden is right.
Sap:
[Has known about the failing to evolve for a while, but might as well let the kid try] You’ll just be disappointed.
Honey:
We can still try the challenge at least. I think I heard that if you complete the challenge, you get a new Pokemon.
AA Shroom:
New friend is always good.
BBC:
[Goes to tell her how that may not be good since they already have six team members]
Aiden:
[Thwacks the notebook in front of her snout to stop her] Of course~! Manga, lead the way.
=+=
[By the time evening had rolled around, Honey felt she’d been personally insulted by the whole of Serenity Island. No wonder Team Fusion had decided to build their “obviously a cover for their secret base” there! Not that she’d learned much from going to the resort other than the rude company they kept there. She may have been the professor’s “errand girl” but she certainly wasn’t taking orders from anyone else! However… As much as she wanted to take that bossy woman’s money and spend it out of spite, the Voices were insistent that she fulfil the request. Why? Because it was the right thing to do? Doubtful, considering that what she’d heard from these Voices didn’t seem like much of a good conscience. Because of some fancy reward? Most likely.
It hadn’t all been in vain though since Honey did end up catching a few new Pokemon, got her second gym badge, and even stopped by home for a bit to affirm she was right about the weird flow of time lately. At least her partners seemed to understand when she took a bit of time to practice her “ghosting” ability just how serious this was looking to be. No freezings, but still unstable enough to mess with signs, potted plants, and other small things.]
Honey:
[Now if only she could do something to these two.] Um… G-glad I could help then. [turns to leave feeling she had learned NOTHING from this whole experience, but perhaps the Voices knew what they were doing.]
Melanie:
Oh, but there’s one more thing! I think I left my swimsuit somewhere on the fourth floor, if you could fetch that for me. It’s blue, so it might be hard to find.
Honey:
…. … … [Great Guardians, so help her if she had to do one more thing-! But she manages to hold her tongue and turns back to the odious woman with a plastered grin] I’ll be back as soon as I find that.
[Oddly, it didn’t take her NEARLY as long to find it as she was afraid it might, and Honey hurried back to the rude woman with high hopes that she was almost done. Maybe NOW she could get some information from this chick? But upon returning, the event took yet another strange and mysterious turn from what she’d been expecting. For as soon as she gave Melanie her swimsuit, the woman thanked-- a surprise in itself after how Honey thought she’d react-- and gave her a ticket.]
Honey:
A “Wish” Ticket? [turning it over in her hands to see if it had any sort of description to where it went. No where in Tunod that she recognized, but the information on the back did look like a legitimate boat ticket.] Thanks, but where does it…. …. … [As she looks up, Melanie is no longer there. In the room, at the table, in the hall… Did she leave while Honey was distracted?] Spooky… I guess I’ll just um… leave now? [She glances around the room as she debates the possibility of a ghost, or worse, another world hopper, and leaves as quickly as she can think to flee the building.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Wow I have been sorely neglecting this blog. I’ve actually got the story written much father ahead than it’s posted, but formatting on Tumblr is just... a tad time consuming. I DO however plan to get caught up here in the next few days now that I’m not so busy. 83
