So they say there’s plot, and yet they can’t explain how the thing happened except by the phrase “power of the plot.” Not a good sign.

Of course ‘saku is wanted by everyone. He’s Yoshida’s main character. Legit everyone in the entire show will thirst for him.

How does focusing on plot make it different-- Oh. You mean how we get thrown straight into the plot? And how it no longer focuses on card games even tho that’s what ygo’s all about? And how the main reason why this franchise exists got shunted to the side? Y’know, there’s such a thing as focusing too much on plot. Back up a little, I can’t see properly if you’re shoving my face into the thing like that.

"Generic” isn’t a compliment. Unless you’re saying, “It’s okay, I guess. It’s not that bad. At least it’s generic!” And even then, that’s an insult disguised as a half-assed compliment.

If you mean it’s less like a ygo series and more like other anime outside of the category, then yes, it’s not like the other series. But that just gives me the same reason to watch any other franchise out there.

“Relatable characters.” That doesn’t make it different. All the other series had relatable characters. If you didn’t relate to any character in the other series, then that’s just your perspective.

“Voice actors you may or may not know”-- For the love of god, that’s any series out there! That doesn’t make it different from the other series, wtf

‘saku not being interested in dueling isn’t as endearing an idea anymore. Cuz he’s an asshole. I want my pre-Yoshida fanon ‘saku back.

And the robots fucked. Thanks for the announcement, I’ve only heard about it a gajillion times.

Mai's arc really makes sense on a meta level like, it's almost as she realized she was a supporting character that got shafted real hard in BC and wants to catch up to the Main Boys and joined the Villains so she could have a chance against them (poor woman had no idea nothing can beat plot armor...)

btw i really like Ryuji this season he is so supportive and nice? not only to his friends but also Ryuzaku and Haga, whoever decided he had to be Sweet now was completely right, kinda makes me wish he was like that the entire show

also Ryuzaki and Haga has just become peak... enemies-to friends-to-partners in crime-to whatever, they went to America together so they could get rare fucking cards, gremlins in love

I really didn't liked the second Amelda vs Kaiba duel for many reasons but maybe the worst one is at the end when Amelda seeing his little brother in Mokuba, bc it only reinforce the fact the narrative only see Mokuba as "the little brother"

Amelda never spoke one single word to Mokuba, he was perfectly ok with killing him just to get revenge on Kaiba, but Mokuba is the Token Ototo so that means Amelda can see project his sad big brothers feelings on someone he doesn't even know the name, great 🙄

S4 is vfasjastagxksgotwo it's just so self aware, like it's like the writers realized that Yami being a fucking Pharaoh meant he had endless power on his people and the show's fucking name is King of Games, like the previous season always treated the nameless pharaoh as Some Guy that used magic against Priest Seth but here in here Yami finally realized being the King (of a country/Games) means responsability and pain, the result is ok-ish i guess but i appreciate the idea
