Oh God the episode was all over the place. And I remember once again why I couldn't love the show as a whole. Yabani is suffering from a chronic disease. They write an excellent conflict, then it turns out that it is actually not that important. This rant is not about Asi and Alaz btw. It's more about familial love. Asi and Alaz, they're still my babies, but I am really tired of not seeing any other good plots. And don't get me even started on the weak crime & cop plot line. The amount of second-hand embarrassment I feel about that...

"You are not dead."

Yaman and Alaz just hugged and thanks to the actor playing Alaz I could feel something. The script was lacking and if this was how you solved your conflict, just joking and hugging, then don't ever write something so dramatic again. They did not even confront each other. Like, this built up went in vain, can you believe it?

They shouldn't have left Soysalan house for the next three months after this.

And this.

They are THAT COUPLE who gives you everything you could ask for.

Hands down he is the most interesting character and has the best character development arc in the show. I used to roll my eyes every time he appeared but now he is my favorite. I think he is also the writers' favorite because he was great in this episode.

His grief was consistent and visible. He was disgusted at the idea that one could sacrifice a child's life. He was too desparate that he threatened his childhood friend with a knife. He was crazy enough to get himself caught. He was so sad to hear Asi hated him and helplessly begged her not to. He was worried to death that Asi couldn't make it but tried so hard not to show his fear. He heard for the first time in his life that someone he loved loved him back finally. (YEAH WE GOT "I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU TOO", DON'T TOUCH ME I AM STILL NOT OKAY) He looked like a child when he saw his brother was alive.

I mean, he might be a mess but somehow checks all the boxes, do you understand me?

I’ve skimmed through the show so I could be wrong … BUT… am I the only one confused with all the theories regarding Alaz being jealous of Asi possibly singing + annoyed about the clothes she wears?

Personally, I think it would be super out of character for him 🤷🏽‍♀️ if anything, he has been the most liberal + open minded towards the women on the show!

For the most part, he has accepted their decisions - ie. Not going out of his way to break Ruya and Yaman up etc. He is also the only one that does not infantilize the women in his life, recognizing that they can make their own decisions and only steps in when NECESSARY (ie. Cagla x Ruzgar situation and when Ruya attacked etc.). There’s only two instances where I think he has been against the decisions the women in his life make/could make.

The only time he has been against Caglas decisions is regarding her relationships post-Ruzgar attack. He fought against her getting married to Ruzgar and is against Cesur and Cagla dating … which tbh is understandable! From what his seen, Cesur is selfish, opportunistic, and a d rug dealer … so yeah?? Anyone would be scared that their sister is going to get hurt again.

The second is him lying to Asi about her being his alibi. He did it to protect her from himself bc tbh, he is a MESS … but that should have been her decision yk? But … I guess when you love someone their safety is first priority.

So yeah? I can’t imagine him getting jealous over something sooooo petty such as a job and dress 💀 if anything; it’s probs him getting jealous that someone is showing a romantic interest in her.

Anywho! Feel free to correct me bc as I’ve said … I’ve only skimmed so I could have missed something

When Yaman wants Leyla to give an explanation she says she is hungry now, her mind can't work. So that's why he sits down too and starts eating. You can never bother him. Never.

Asi: Alaz, what are you still doing here? Go after the girls. Alaz: I have no problem but if the girls want to leave, I have to leave too because we came here by my car.

He speaks the same language with Leyla. The girls may throw a tantrum but he knows this doesn't affect Leyla. His evil mind is still there, I see. The best counter attack is to not give a damn about her.

Leyla: That insane man called Alaz, isn't he your boyfriend? Asi: Yes, he is my boyfriend. Yaman: And he is my brother. Leyla: Your brother did every possible bad thing to you, Yaman but Asi became lovers with him. Asi: What are you talking about? Alaz isn't like how he used to be. He has changed.

Omg, how protective they are.

Girl, your intelligence report doesn't include everything obviously. He is their problematic fave. Who cares if he almost killed his brother, they are family now. We stan Alaz Soysalan in this house.

Btw his traits haven't changed actually, he just doesn't want to kill his brother anymore. He is still that sarcastic and unhinged boy.

First guy was beaten by Asi. Because she knows how to headbutt or throw a fist and she can use her hand or body to attack even if that means she ends up hurting herself too.

Second guy was beaten by Rüya. Because it seems her slaps are powerful and her manicured long fingernails can leave a couple of marks on someone's face.

Third guy was beaten by Çağla. Because she is a person who uses a tool to hurt someone since she is so tiny and also she might have learnt something from her twin. Like smashing bottles on people's heads.

Chaotic family trope. Mmmm.

She is like you know, usual stuff. Lol. Alaz shows he's such a boyfriend material. Awww.

1-ALAZ AND YAMAN BEING BEST FREAKING ADORABLE IDIOT BROTHERS AND ACTING LIKE NINE YEARS OLD 2-Alaz be like "you jump i jump abisi" (i love him so much) 3-Alaz being worried for Asi and almost had an heart attack when he saw she fainted 4-HE CARRIED HER WHILE SAYING "MY BEAUTY" 5-He said "YOU ARE NO LONGER ALONE. I AM WITH YOU. I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE AGAIN. NOBODY CAN HURT YOU" SHE FINALLY HUGGED HIM BACK TIGHTLY. 6-THEY WERE CUDDLING IN HIS BED WHILE HE CARESSING HER HAIR AND HE KISSED HER FOREHEAD. (I WILL NEVER EVER GET OVER THIS) 7- CESUR. Oh poor boy. I even held back my tears for two or three times. I am glad they didn't show what happened to him because it was already so heartbreaking. 8-Alaz said "abi" (brother) to Yaman. Directly. In the middle of a crisis. To convince him. (Did I say I love him so much?) 8-FRAGMAN! ASI AND YAMAN BEING KIDNAPPED, WHILE TRYING TO SAVE THEM ALAZ GETTING KIDNAPPED TOO!

Not even Güven ruined my fun. His scenes with Serhan were surprisingly so funny. I mean, probably the reason is Serhan, the guy is a villain but entertaining at least.

(*)If Yaman wasn't so distracted by his anger he would definitely frown upon his word choice here. Because you use "our people" for the ones you think a part of your family or have a close relationship with. He really gives himself away.

He is like let's go and beat the shit out of him. Awww, this is his way of saying let's bond brother.

You can't say this doesn't look like a younger brother running to his older brother for support. I love this scene so much.

He probably said sorry for hurting her after he had learnt everything and she snapped. She meant "no, you don't have any power to hurt me. I have been through hell, you are not that important." Oh. My.

This is his punishment. He just wants to be there for her but it's too late now.

Alaz: You're going to tell me what you're up to. Yaman: Do I become your brother now?! This has nothing to do with you. Alaz: I see. This is deep, your emotions run high. Alaz as usual talks in an annoying way but you can see he gets worried. His eyes are a little bit teary too. He finds himself in a sensitive situation when he least expects, he says "we're past that, it already happened". First with Asi, now with Yaman.

Btw, I find their brotherhood dynamic a little adorable. Because you know Alaz acts like an elder brother around Çağla and Ece, he wants to protect them, take care of them. But with Yaman he can be annoying little brother. Like this.

Alaz: Mom, I am playing cowboys with Yaman and suddenly I think of you- Yaman: He's talking nonsense as usual. Everything is all right, don't worry.

Lol, playing cowboys is a child game, he already implies there might be gun involved.

I don't know what to think about this plot. I mean, yeah, they grew up in the streets, they must have experienced bad things, but honestly I always thought this was more about poverty and violence. This was implied. However in this scene you can see there's more than that and this wasn't implied before if I am not wrong. That's why I don't know what they are planning now.

This Zafer guy could be abuser, human trafficker, organ mafia?? We really don't know who he is because they didn't show what Yaman told Alaz. Alaz ended up crying too, so this is more serious than I thought.

His mean and arrogant traits are so consistent. Like, he does not know how to be decent, I can't with him.

Deniz: He believes what he wants to believe. His lack of education must be one of the reasons for that. It's like the people who are on different rankings get in the same boxing ring. Alaz: Actually he is so full of love. If you fulfill his needs, he doesn't cause any problems. What I don't understand is why he got a hard on you as soon as you came.

He doesn't like any Aydın family member so he already has prejudices. But when the psycho started talking about Yaman in a bad way, he activated his attacking mode.

He just didn't like how he humiliated Yaman. And we're talking about Alaz who mocks Yaman on every occasion.

He's changing.

Alaz: So Rüya fell in love with this (guy)? Now it's understood what Yaman's problem is. Neslihan: Alaz, please, don't annoy your brother about this. Alaz: It's not my business, mom. I will watch the impossible love story of the big bro with pleasure. Neslihan: Is that so? Then we will watch your impossible love story, too. But love heals, I have hopes for you. Alaz: What is that? What do you mean? I don't understand.

He just asked for it, I can't blame his officially useless mama.

Btw he is an expert at humiliating people, giving nicknames or making offensive jokes. Now he's referring to him as "this" because yes, this is another way of humiliating someone. Oh, he is a bad boy but has his moments.

If Yaman didn't know what Alaz had been through in his childhood, he would never forgive him though. But he saw his pain too, that's why he could be understanding and willing to forgive him when Alaz showed his sincerity.

So this creep will talk to Serhan again. (He wants a lung transplantation from a street kid.) Serhan has no choice but to tell Güven that this guy is dangerous.

Leyla: "He won't let us down, will he?" Zafer: "Otherwise he will lose all of his family."

They are talking about Serhan. Did Alaz hear it? I am not sure.

It seems he's stopping Cesur from going to Zafer's house with a gun.

Leyla is going down to the house's basement. It's evening.

Asi and Yaman get kidnapped together.

Maybe they already had a plan and wanted to be caught because maybe Alaz heard the guy was planning to hurt more street kids, told Yaman and they thought of a way to get rid of this guy for good. But somehow something went wrong and then Alaz was brought there too.

He wears an earbud, Serhan doesn't want to cooperate with him. He sees how valuable Yaman is for Neslihan especially after knowing he was kidnapped before.

What if this creepy guy threatens Neslihan at dinner?

And there is also Alaz. Two birds with one stone. Just imagine him asking Neslihan "which one should I kill first until you bring me a kid?" That would be dramatic as hell.

Leyla: "Dad, I'm going to kill all three of them."

Or the brothers arguing about who should continue being a hostage and who should leave first?

Of course they both will say Asi should be released first, then turn back to their fighting. Because Alaz is like if you stay, my dad won't do anything for you, you will be dead in vain but if I stay they won't kill me. But Yaman will never accept that. Or if you stay, our mom will never get over this, can't bear the same pain and Yaman is like I will not leave you here.

That would be brutal too.

But then it's being revealed that Leyla is actually a good guy. Lol. I don't know I saw a theory that she could be the little girl Yaman saved from Zafer.

I don't care even if this turns out to be April's fool day or a camera prank, they should give me a dramatic scene BEFORE THAT.

She doesn't shrug away when he is obviously giving Tolga a message: She is my girl, back off.

I mean, he knows there is literally no chance of that Asi and Tolga can date because of Zafer but still he makes that move. Because Tolga is still looking at her expectantly which can't be tolerated by Alaz.

The guy gets the message. "WE are okay" "She is always like this, ask me, I know everything about her." Okay, boy, calm down.

You know he's annoying but she loves him as the way he is.

Leyla: *unpleased by Alaz and Asi also being there* I thought you would come alone.

Alaz is like we are not dying to see you either, if it wasn't for my clueless brother I wouldn't bother especially when I finally have a chance of spending time with my girl.

Rüya: Welcome. What would you like to have? Alaz: *trying to send her away quickly* I want coffee. Tea, water, whatever you have bring it and leave us alone. Asi: *done with him already*

They have unserious bf and serious gf dynamic. I'm loving it.

The male lead in the picture: Kerem Sayer, 18 years old, experienced a childhood trauma (His older brother died in a car accident.) and has still been suffering from it. After that, his parents, especially his father neglected him when he was just a kid. His dad still can't get over the loss and usually spends his days in his room.

His enemy forces him to choose one person: The girl he loves or his father who is in jail.

He runs to Zeynep first then they go to see his father together.

He was the reason she was in danger but also saved her from it.

YABANI - 2024

The male lead -more like the antagonist- in the picture: Alaz Soysalan, 19-20 years old, has a childhood trauma (his older brother is kidnapped and they can't find him) His mother has never been over this pain and he's been neglected by her.

Alaz: Nobody will be able to hurt you from now on.

A couple of days later...

He will decide who will die. The girl he loves or his brother.

He shoots Yaman.

He said he wouldn't let anyone hurt her but ended up being the one who hurt her because of not bearing to hurt her. See how fucked up that is?

You know I have a type, I know that. But look at the formula, 10 years later it's still working very well.

This kind of unfortunate event circle only happens in Greek tragedies btw. What's next? Making him walk away without looking back at her in order to save her while she is following him behind?

I think there's kind of twist in Yaman's case. A prop gun? A bulletproof vest? Or just luck? It doesn't matter, because he will live, since he's the hero. But at what cost?

If you give your antagonist or gray anti-hero character a love interest that is the lifeline for them, you can write anything extreme because yes, they will do that and suffer endlessly. Because it suits them well.

I am not saying I am looking forward to watching this, I can only hope the writer team will surprise me.
