a bob's burgers time travel au would be super fun to write but there aren't a lot of major events in the show that would make sense w/ what typically happens in a time travel au. and if bob travelled back to when he and linda were first dating he would miss his kids so much and it would be sad :(

alternatively an anmesia or time travel type concept where bob forgets the past 15 years and suddenly he wakes up with a wife and three kids and a restaurant would be kinda funny but him not remembering his kids.... not remembering he loved them. also just really sad but an interesting concept

in another fandom i read a really in-depth amnesia medical type fic where the character forgot like the past 15 years of their life including their romantic partner and it dealt with the aftermath of a serious head injury and never being able to fully return to your relationship or your life bcuz you are fundementally changed. and it was REALLY good and well written but once again with kids involved it might be too sad to write
