my dad doesn’t know he’s probably autistic because he’s what one would call a ‘functioning autistic’ and he’s a senior citizen so he has never questioned these aspects of himself

#not to pathologize all his behaviors but it all checks out to me idk #also when he sees me being social(lly awkward) at a party he still tells me i did a really good job but that’s because HE’S really awkward #it doesn’t really matter though because it doesn’t cause him sufficient problems #other than maybe being able to market his art further through networking maybe #but he still gets some rich clients to keep us afloat #because he’s good at what he does which is mostly woodwork #or stone or concrete or whatever #he’s currently making artificial cypress knees out of concrete and chicken wire to paint vivid colors later
