Tbf Mikey was completely right and probably knew Takemichi was going to do the most unsafe option and not tell the police because Takemichi has a track record of doing rather risky things and walking straight into danger.

Mikey's plan isn't great but it definitely seems a little better when you remember who he's using it on.
