So let me get this right
Edgeworth had a quarter of life crisis, went to Europe to find himself, realised Phoenix gave his life meaning, and came back ready to confess.
Meanwhile Phoenix, who used to openly admire, be worried about and even give excuses to Edgeworth even when he was kinda mean, was so personally offended by how much it hurt him to think he was dead that when he came back Phoenix completely shut down every good emotion he felt towards him and started acting like a petty teenager with a grudge.
And now Edgeworth is the one reaching out and questioning his morality and acting hurt when Phoenix is mean to him. Interesting.

Hardcastle Interview
Written by Erin Christie
Founded in 2013 by members Graham and Miles Laderman, Val Hoyt, Kaden Paulson, and Noah Christian, Hardcastle has risen into prominence in the indie- pop industry as of recent, bringing a refreshingly wonderful splash of color to the scene. Hailing from humble Nashville, Tennessee, this band of misfits has steadily begun to make a major name for themselves, this past year alone having allowed the band to cover some impressive milestones in their career such as the release of two majorly bop- worthy singles, “Paranoia” and “Millennial Attraction,” embarking on their first headlining tour all over the States, and gaining much more recognition within the scene, even whilst remaining independent from labels (which is massively impressive)! Having been inspired by acts such as The ever- iconic 1975, Young the Giant, The Neighbourhood, and more, Hardcastle has created a uniquely wonderful sound, meshing standard alternative with shimmering, bright melodies and paralyzing vocals (pun definitely intended). Though they don’t have too many singles released as of yet, the lovely quartet that they have locked and loaded are sure to leave you feeling as though you are cruising with the windows down on a sweltering summer day or jamming so hard that your ankles might break. Recently, Homesick Journal had the opportunity to have a conversation with the man, the legend, Graham Laderman, about Hardcastle- its conception, inspirations, and plans for the future.
Homesick Journal: You guys have a really unique and refreshing sound and its really wonderful to see you thriving and making your own.  When you guys envisioned what your music would sound like/ what your holistic vibe would be when you came together and started out in 2013, what had you initially envisioned?
Graham Laderman: Well when Val, Miles, and I played music together in high school, the genre leaned more towards classic rock and roll. The more we matured, the more our influences and music changed and the more we knew how we wanted to represent ourselves musically. After high school, Kaden and Noahjoined the band and they brought some new ideas to the table. The more time we’ve spent together, the more we became comfortable with our shared vision of the music. Now we're just trying to create our own lane and make music that isreal to us.
HJ: If you had to choose, which lyric would you say is your favorite of your discography/which means the most to you?
GL: Paralyzed has always been a really interesting song to us lyrically.  One of the things we love about it is the contrast of the lyrics being about feeling paralyzed over musical accompaniment which is very driving and movement oriented. Another set of lyrics we all love is from Millennial Attraction; “Wasting away in paradise, I see my heart reflected in digital eyes. You say you’re fine, but I know that ain’t true. Would you believe me if I told you I was hurting too?” It’s avery relatable and comfortable set of lyrics that sort of put everything into place easily; definitely one of our favorite opening lines.
HJ: Growing up, had music always been a large part of your lives?  Had anyone inparticular inspired you then and now to pursue music?
GL: We all came from different hometowns and had different musical backgrounds, which is something that we think is really important to the band’s content. I think we can all agree that we had and continue to have extremely supportive people around us that inspired us and gave us the opportunity to come together and make music. Family members have definitely helped us pursue our music; teachers and friends were all there to help along the way as well.
HJ: With your debut album on the horizon (and that being incredibly exciting), is there a word or two that you would use to describe your emotions at the moment?
GL: Excited; We’re all tremendously excited, a little flustered, but definitely motivated. We’re in the process of recording right now, and we hope the public enjoys our new songs as much as we do. Many of these songs have been written all over the place, in different cities, hotel rooms, etc. It's amazing to be able to take all of these experiences and soon share them with our friends and fans. We’re beyond grateful that we get to play this music together every day.
HJ: As a band, what would you say has been the most memorable moment that you’ve experienced together?
GL: Definitely a moment on stage. Every night, each performance is different in the way that we get to play off each other. It's always refreshing to hear Noah hit a note or slap at a different time than usual, to hear Kaden play a new lick over a song, to hear Miles switch to triplets for a second. It's great to look out at the faces in the audience and see someone rockin’ to the vibe on stage. There’s a new memorable moment every night.
HJ: Within this recent year alone, you guys have reached some major milestones, whether in terms of releasing “Millennial Attraction” (and subsequently having it featured on Spotify’s Indie Hitlist!), going on your first headlining tour, and more.  When thinking about the next year (and even the next few months), what do you think is in store?
GL: We have a lot of new music, merch, ideas, etc. that we really want to share with everyone.  Although making that happen is a challenge of course, it is a goal and priority that we are pursuing and won't stop until it's achieved. We can all agree that we really want to create a music video, and while that’s something that is a bit difficult to orchestrate, this coming year seems like the perfect time for it. Of course, we also want to get back on the road and play to many more cities - ones we’ve visited on this last tour and ones we’ve never been to.
HJ: Of course, your fan-base is beyond dedicated and some of the most wonderful people that I know- was it surreal to see so many passionate people coming out to see you on your first headliner?  Does that make you hopeful about the future?
GL: We were uncertain about how many people would come out to see us on our first tour. It's crazy to think that halfway across the nation in Texas, we would be pleasantly surprised by people forming lines outside of the venues; the shows were nuts! We played for many crowds; there were so many different yet positive moments that occurred in every city. This whole tour was definitely a milestone. Thanks to the fans, we have a lot of faith in this fan base and hope it will continue to grow.
HJ: If you were given the opportunity to construct a tour line-up, with you guys included on the bill of course, who would you love the opportunity to play with (even if they happen to be disbanded, etc)?
GL: Phoenix, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Oasis, Kings of Leon, Young the Giant, Wilco, The Killers, The 1975, this list could go on for miles; these are only a few.
HJ: Success isn’t always measured by what you have/haven’t done as a band but, even with that said, is there anything that you have always dreamed of being able to achieve, whether in terms of selling out arenas, playing on talk shows, etc, etc??
GL: Definitely a must is performing at a festival. Bonnaroo would be lovely. We also love Red Rocks; the entire place seems very welcoming and spiritual. Madison square garden is another one, Slane Castle too. Music Midtown!!
HJ: If you wanted future fans to know one thing about Hardcastle, whether in terms of you guys as people, your sound, etc, etc, what would you tell them?
GL: We want people to know that Hardcastle has something to say. We want to create the best experience we can for you, and for us; musically, emotionally, personally with the way we interact. There are many things we care about, and obstacles we've had to face, and we want to share that reality and authenticity with you through everything we put out. Whether it be through a music video, a tweet, a picture, an album? We love the love we’ve been receiving, and love even more loving you right back. Is that enough ‘love’ in a sentence for you?!
Make sure to keep up with what Hardcastle is up to and when they’ll be in a city near you in the near future on social media- you won’t regret it! Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram: @Hardcastleband Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6L95H90mXRQPcFar4Q7tAm
