#im raging #i had my communication necklace visibly on low battery and i was wearing a sunflower lanyard #and i was wearing a mask #obviously #bc im not morally bankrupt #and the guy at the door of tesco was like why are you wearing a mask if you have a lanyard #and i said oh my disability doesnt exempt me from wearing a mask :) #as polite as i could muster!!! #and he said and i quote you should give it to someone who needs it #i dont know if he meant the mask or the lanyard #but i am so so so angry #im sure some peoples disabilities DO exempt them from wearing a facemask #mine does NOT. and im not going to be dishonest about it AND endanger other peoples lives by pretending that it does #and like. the implication that because i dont have mask-exempting disability i shouldnt wear the lanyard #like. thats Literally not what the lanyard means #the lanyard literally just means i have an invisible disability #its supposed to protect me from nonsense like this lmao #not subject me to it #im so mad bc the lanyard was Such a good idea #it was a way to quietly signify to other people that i might need more time to process instruction #or for people to be tolerant of me moving or acting more slowly or being clumsier than other customers #it was so good! #and now apparently people just think it means 'i dont have to wear a mask uwu' #sorry im just. i was already having a shitty day and now im just fuming
