Slowly rotating a vague Cars ‘social media AU’ thingy in my head. It’s less an AU, and more just speculating about what the character’s posting styles would be like.

I imagine Lightning is a weird mix of ‘Sanitized self promotion that was 100% written by his PR manager’ and ‘Insane shit out of nowhere that gets him trending on twitter for a couple days’

Like, one day, he’ll post something like “Hey everyone! Excited for the race tomorrow, I hope to see you all there! -Kachow!” With a super professionally done photo of him with the details of the race edited alongside it. Then the next day he’ll post a shaky vertical video of him and Cal giving Jackson the middle finger while his back is turned, trying and failing not to giggle like stupid teenagers.

The racing side of twitter becomes basically unusable for the next couple days as, in classic twitter fashion, people take it way too seriously and start fighting. Jackson would 100% attract/cultivate the most RANCID stans on the planet.

They would absolutely doxx someone for disagreeing with them and only make the situation worse because they’re all petty, rabid and incredibly parasocially attached to him.

But…yeah. I feel someone would have a secret fandom tumblr but I’m not sure who……this is all just food for thought tbh.
