A Birthday Month Letter

 Devon,

 September 2020, 9pm (ish), I’m desperately searching for a video on YouTube, couldn’t get the right one, clicking around all over the place. I’m checking out the “Related” videos in the hope I’ll find it and see something called “Stepril”, or rather as I read it – Strepsil 🙄 Why someone made a fan video about a throat lozenge, I don’t know, but I clicked on it and all I know is that the very next day, the first thing I loaded to stream before I went to work was “Teenage Bounty Hunters”. That evening, I think I watched five episodes, and the following five the next evening.

 I don’t know what to say, I laughed, I cried, I shouted at the TV, I felt for the characters on a level I hadn’t in a loooooooooooooooong, long time, everything about it was PERFECT. Of course, April is my favourite; the bitch vibes yet you always knew there was something about her that wasn’t typical TV villain. And she wasn’t. She was complicated, she was endearing, she was grounded, she was anxious, she was passionate and she was scared. Beautifully written and beautifully portrayed. A lesbian character that actually says the word lesbian on TV?! Whaaaaaaaat. 😂 The “I crush hard on girls” speech WAS me, still is me I suppose, once a fan-girl, always a fan-girl! I’ve known I was gay since I was 12 and I’m a looooooooot older now, to hear that articulated on TV? The EXACT way I felt back then? Incredible, still, in 2020 😂

 I cannot remember AT ALL what video I was originally searching for that evening on YouTube, it’s been Teenage Bounty Hunters and Teenage Bounty Hunters only since then. And you know what? I’m ridiculously happy about that, it’s a gift and you should be so, so happy that you got to share this gift with us all. Ya’ll have got fans for life.❤
