"Would you like to be mine, Treasure?"
Tumblr media
I've been listening to this playlist on repeat, so here is my interpretation of @frenchiefitzhere 's Ruby the Dragon Queen! (At least her human form)
If you haven't listened to her videos yet, I definitely recommend it! Absolutely in love with the story and can't wait to see where it goes! 💜

Lair Review for Avalonian
@avalonianrising - 10 dragons
First impressions: Your lair is very green, yet is also diverse with dragons of all kinds! I like how organized it is, and how rich with lore each tab is.
1.
Tumblr media
I’ll start with Lockwood. I’m assuming that he’s probably one of your progens. First impressions? He’s very green. You clearly knew what you wanted when you chose his colors. Also you got extremely lucky with his tert. I love the mixture of Wind and Nature’s holiday apparel on him. They go together well! then the brown accents of the mask and wraps tie together his whole look.
Reading his lore his combination of wind and nature apparel makes so much sense! I think it’s always cool to see what happens when two elements are incorporated within one dragon.
2.
Tumblr media
Origin is beautiful! She is a really lovely shadowy shadow dragon. She’s spooky, yet elegant. Black is definitely her color and I feel like the unearthly onyx apparel was made for her. Her accent is what gives her her elegance. The gold pops nicely over the black. I was hoping she’d have some lore in her bio, but I guess she’ll just be a mystery for now.
3.
Tumblr media
I clicked on him because I thought Madness was an interesting name for a dragon. He’s a very pretty dragon, but I’m not really sure how to describe his aesthetic. He looks like a gem filled cave, full of magic and mystery. but he also looks like an old warrior who fought in wars now forgotten.
4.
Tumblr media
I really love the concept of the Firefly Dance Troupe! Though I have to wonder, who are the the Children of the Water Gardens? And why do they need freed?
I chose to review Narcissus because he’s very pretty! And I’m someone who doesn’t usually like irishim dragons. I love the way that honeydew iridescent gradually blends in with his ivory shimmer. And I love how the green from his accent and sylvan wings pop out against the ivory and lighter green of the honeydew.
5.
Tumblr media
Now this is an aesthetic I can get behind. Sinann looks like something you’d find lurking at the bottom of the ocean, or by a ship wreck. Eldritch is just such a great color and I’m so happy it was added to the color wheel. Then her accent adds that extra layer of “i’m a sea/swamp dragon” and I love it.
6.
Tumblr media
Hey an ace dragon! You love to see it. I don’t have too much to say about Murmur, but I just think they’re neat and that I love any lore that has to do with Emperors. I’m sure Murmur is good at sneaking up on them.
7.
Tumblr media
What a pretty mirror! I love the nice neural colors and the natural look of jaguar and rosette on this guy. I think m pose mirrors in particular look great with jaguar. The fading of tarnish also adds to Mercado’s overall look, giving them an antique feel, like they were transported from the past, or have an old heart.
8.
Tumblr media
Eron gives my angel vibes. Archangel vibes in particular. the main reason is the white feathered wings, but also the glowing light eyes and the golden pearl. I could be wrong, but Eron feels like the kind of guy that will do what they believe is right, at all costs - even if that cost may hurt others. But also that’s just what I’m getting from the snippet of lore you have in their bio so I could be completely off the rails here.
9.
Tumblr media
Zilya’s aesthetic is also very nice. White, black and gold all blend together so neatly on her. With the veil on she feels very mysterious.
10.
Tumblr media
Ooo a Shade Touched dragon? That hunts Emperors? Tell me more. AND he’s a necromancer? Help he’s checking too many boxes that I like! Poor guy though, sounds like he’s had a tough time.
I love his accent. I’ve seen different versions of this accent around and it’s probably one of my favorite accents I don’t have :’) The black clothing he’s dressed in mesh surprisingly well with his green coloration. Overall a really cool dragon and lair!

Haze Mage Slay With Evil Song in Ferocious 2nd LP, ‘Chronicles’
~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~
Tumblr media
Album art by John De Campos/Ghost Bat Illustration
Enough with the wizards, stoner-doom -- let's bring on the mages! The difference between the two, you're wondering? One person (and I don't remember who) put it something like this: "The mage is not just a practitioner of the magic arts, he's also a scholar. Whereas the wizard? The wizard is just a user." Okay, that wasn't very nice, but it's not entirely without its truth. What we get with the mage is wisdom, the perspective of history, and deep, deep lore. Pair that with the ability to see clearly the mysteries of the occult and awaken forces supernatural and you can't be beat. Now, throw a little pot into the mix and you've got HAZE MAGE.
The Baltimore heavies are mages in the most fundamental sense, at least as far as the music is concerned. On the cusp of releasing their second full-length record, the band continues to conjure the galloping trot of NWOBHM glory and the rousing spirit of epic doom, along with a flair for showmanship in 'Chronicles' (2019). It's the next chapter in the fantasy world established by Haze Mage's debut, 'Blood Mist' (2017), which my fellow Doom Charts editor Bucky Brown called "a gutsy combination of Danzig meets The Sword drowning in riff-heavy psychedelic fuzz, propelled by dynamic stoner blues, with classic rock tones and doom inspired groove."
Indeed, the vocals remains a distinctive feature of the Haze Mage sound. Matthew Casella channels the dignity of Mats Björkman, the insanity of Scott Reagers and, yes, the bravura of Glenn Danzig. I would hasten to add, there's a just the slightest touch of strangeness that reminds me of Michael Scalzi of The Lord Weird Slough Feg -- which incidentally was a hop, skip, and a jump away from Casella in the '90s when Slough Feg was a staple of the Philly scene (interesting: Scalzi is a philosophy professor -- I'm calling him Mage Mike from now on).
Tumblr media
Joining Casella in the dramatic line-up: Kevin Considine (guitar), Nick Jewett (guitar), Scott Brenner (bass), and John De Campos (drums). Together they are one tight troupe of magic makers, holding their own on stage with the likes of Valiant Thorr, The Flying Eyes, and Ruby The Hatchet, not to mention a veritable Who's Who of Doomed & Stoned Festival alumni, from Heavy Temple and Foghound to Horseburner and Book of Wyrms.
We got our first taste of Haze Mage's sophomore effort with the single "Fire Wizards," a feisty five-minute number, and the rest of the album follows suit, though with plenty of variety so that I never felt I was listening to the same thing over and over (the Achilles heel of doom-stoner music). If the celebratory rips of "Bong Witch" don't drag you in, then certainly the rich fantasy world of Haze Maze will, with standouts like the unhinged "Harbinger," the melancholy "Corpse Golem," the slow-burning "Priest of Azathoth," and (my favorite) the balladic ten-minute closer, "Dread Queen." In short, there's plenty here to satiate the bloodlust of the Riff Gods!
Chronicles releases on Grimoire Records this Friday, April 19th, with pre-orders for a sleek limited edition CD happening here. And now what you've all been waiting for: the world premiere of Chronicles by Haze Mage, which Doomed & Stoned is pleased to present at this time.
Give ear...
Chronicles by Haze Mage
Some Buzz
Forged in Baltimore, Maryland in late 2015, Haze Mage creates riff-driven anthemic fantasy metal that transports listeners to a world where they explore ancient dark forests, slay savage beasts, and bask in the sacred mystic haze. Haze Mage weaves their fantasy world through lyrics and sound that draw inspiration from many subgenres of metal to create one all their own: Sword and Sorcery Doom.
Blood Mist by Haze Mage
Through the sanguine tinted lens of a nameless warrior, experience a blood-soaked landscape shrouded in magic and inhabited by otherworldly beings. Ancient tomes of the realm recite tales of those seeking vengeance on evil, the perils which have been witnessed and passed down for generations, and the warnings of an impending doom.
Shrouded in blackness a shadowy towering figure layered behind curtains of effluvium, It’s clawed hands rise to the empyrean, silvery eyes glowing red and massive spiked horns cut through the vapor to reveal the master of this realm and the miasma of smothering murk he commands, the Haze Mage. Will you succumb to his haunting power or will you be consumed by the power of the haze?

Hello everyone, please enjoy my new bard character I am playing in a new campaign.  She is a level 4 bard in the college of swords, and I am in love with her.  Pardon any typoes.
My character is named Shelly Junipero, but she usually goes by her stage name, Hackysack.
Having grown up as the child of the master-of-arms, she frequently sparred with her father as a child, developing an affinity for weapons and a broad knowledge of how to use them.  She ran away from home at 16 when her dad found out that she liked women and forbid her from ever having a girlfriend.  She joined a traveling circus, where she got her nickname as a contortionist. She would contort herself into a ball and the other performers would throw her around like a hackysack, and the nickname stuck.  She was kicked out of the troupe when it was discovered that she was gay, and she started her own one-woman show and travel to new lands after that.
Upon taking a solo career, she decided to use her skills as a contortionist and her advanced knowledge of weapons to design a new show that had never been seen before.  As she practiced and developed new tricks, she discovered a natural proclivity to magic energies and learned a good deal of spells by accident by simply practicing new tricks. She is 5'3'' and has a very small frame that allows her to contort into small places that other people can't normally go.  Although quite skinny, she has a large amount of muscle that has developed from doing extremely rigorous daily exercises, giving her the ability to perform small feats of strength.  A natural troublemaker as a kid, she frequently snuck around the barracks as a child and stole snacks from the kitchens and broke into places she wasn't supposed to be, taking small useless trinkets as memories of her escapades that led her to develop a small amount of kleptomania.  She does not have a natural inclination to any intellectual skills, and is actually very frequently the stupidest person in the room, which paired with her happy-go-lucky friendly attitude, makes a lot of people think she is a brainless ditz.  However, a lot of how she acts in public is an act, and she is a master at manipulating people to do what she wants because people always underestimate her.
She has thick curly brown hair that she likes to keep on the shorter side so that it doesn't get in the way of her performances.  Her favorite color is green and she almost always incorporates some green into her every-day wardrobe and stage costumes.  Adverse to taking showers, she is almost always a little dirty and her hair always hovers around her head like an unkempt cloud.  Her eyes are a light grey like her fathers that are almost a little unnerving to look into.  And finally, she is extremely kind to people and is very likable, using her natural charm and  extremely good looks (I mean with 18 charisma you either have to have literal silver tongue or just be drop-dead gorgeous) to become easy friends with people (she doesn't usually manipulate people to pursue her own interests, and likes to only use it as a self defense mechanism when threatened).
Her performance routine usually has some combination of knife throwing, quarterstaff twirling (at night she casts light on the ends of the staff and makes the glowing ends twirl mesmerizingly), sword swallowing, axe juggling, and her specialty sword dancing (using her rapier in a mock-fight dance that heavily mimics her fighting style).  She incorporates magic into her routines as an added flair, but never does the same routine the same way twice.  For example, sometimes when doing a knife throwing set, she will use faerie fire to make her targets dance with light (and it also coincidentally makes it easier to hit her target).  She will also use heat metal on the axes while she is juggling them to make them glow red-hot and look even more intimidating.  She also like to do a joke set where she uses her quiver of elhonna (which is also used to carry her arsenal without needing an entire cart to move around all her weapons) in a sword swallowing routine.  Swallowing the quiver and holding it in her esophagus, she begins swallowing a sword and then drops it into the extra-dimensional quiver, where it appears as if she literally swallowed the entire sword.  She then acts sheepish and embarrassed, and tries again, sheathing a second sword while pretending to eat it.  She apologizes to the audience, "i swear this doesn't usually happen" and acts like literally swallowing the sword wasn't actually part of the set.  She enjoys watching the audience squirm nervously in confusion as she literally swallows seven swords. She enjoys traveling and adventure, and given the opportunity, would gladly join the traveling band of adventurers to see new lands.
