demisexual/romantic characters are my bread and butter because it's like they go from uninterested or confused or even disgusted by the concepts to like "oh ok. wait a minute. we're cooking. but just with this specific person i've connected to"

i personally also take from other fics/books i've read to write romance because i've also never been in love or in any kind of romantic relationship so. yeah i guess i should just think of writing about sex the same way (though it feels different cause i don't think i'm aro, just haven't experienced this yet. at least that's what i'm hoping)
that's so interesting that you write your characters ace by default? i love that. and i can see it now that you say that. i wish i was the same tbh but i'm the kind of person who unfortunately feels pressured (internally, also subconsciously) to write allo people. and i don't even realize i'm doing it most of the time but it's often when i reread things that i'm like ah yeah i didn't actually want/need this here even if that was just in passing. (i guess that's the part of me that wants to relate to non-ace people. which is stupid but i've had many a crisis over it and is definitely a thing lol)
and sjgvdfh no yeah puzzle pieces michael is so very obviously ace. it's kinda funny that you didn't realize but it also makes total sense i think :') when something is your reality it's easy to forget it's not everyone's.
but i believe in you i'm sure you're gonna ace this fic! (pun totally intended i'm so sorry ksbgd) though i get how frustrating it is. anyway i would offer my help but i would uh. probably be of no help jksbdf but def here to listen to the frustration over it if you need! -taylor🖤
oh i definitely take from other books/fic as well when it comes to the romance department lol. the last time i kissed someone was a full five years ago so any personal experience i have is a little stale so seeing how everyone else writes romance and relationships helps. if you want to be a good writer you should be an active reader, right? but yeah i feel like the way i write romance gets kind of repetitive because I don't really know what else to say about it or what else to compare it to, but at least with fic people don't mind as much because fic in general tends to be really tropey and a little repetitive
I mean I definitely have also written allosexual people (tie me down jalex, vampire mashton, target malum are the ones that immediately come to mind) but because i don't typically write things were sex is overly relevant my characters typically never think of it, even in places where other writers might stick an innuendo or a dirty joke or describe things differently. it's just never something i think to do, thus the majority of my characters could very well be ace! and because the world always needs more ace characters i'm saying now that they are!
aslkdjfs thank you for the pun it would've been a huge missed opportunity if you hadn't said it. and thank you for the offer i will keep it in mind :)
