#Repost @artomovement with @make_repost ・・・ "After 28 Years, Galeri Petronas shuts down in KLCC due to the Pandemic". This is the headline that appeared on 3rd May 2021 on Lifestyle section of The Star (refer this link for it,https://www.thestar.com.my/lifestyle/culture/2021/05/03/after-28-years-galeri-petronas-shuts-down-in-klcc-due-to-the-pandemic). It is such a great loss for the Malaysian art scene. Galeri Petronas has been with us for the past 28 years, a year younger than most of us in ARTO. When a gallery shuts it operation, it is really a heavy blow to us, in a sense where artists loose another venue to exhibit, academicians, historians, loose another place of learning and research and to us the art enthusiasts, another gallery to visit. We remember among the project that we did was a AMxKLSN; a collaboration with @klsketchnation where we conduct our art tour; #ARToHopping and followed by #sketchwalk by KLSN. What are your best memory at @galeripetronas? Do share with us in the comment down below. projekkoyak: diskusi at seni on live ig session
Fulltime artist/painter. Member of Studio Atas and P.E.D.U people collective.
Seniman muda dengan elemen abstrak dan suka bermain dengan puisi. dan di deskripsi rantai art sempat tercatat biografi ringkas artist profile “Freelance creative production and community, mingle and thrilled in my abstraction of thinking and life development.”
Bagi slot ketiga Diskusi At Seni, Projek Koyak membawakan
3. Ajim Juxta; seorang seniman kontemporer Malaysia. A Visual artist/lyricist. Been active as an artist since 2009 & have exhibited his work in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, China & UK. His art is a mix of abstract painting, conceptual art and surrealism.
Mostly his work consist of hybrid concept, from collage, performance art, site specific work, sculpture & video art. Concept of art basically exploring the terms of post conceptual art approach in which is directly using the philosophy of "art as an idea as idea".
------------------------------------------------------------
Ajim Juxta;

Large-Scale Exome Sequencing Study Implicates Both Developmental and Functional Changes in the Neurobiology of Autism.
Large-Scale Exome Sequencing Study Implicates Both Developmental and Functional Changes in the Neurobiology of Autism.
Cell. 2020 Jan 23;:
Authors: Satterstrom FK, Kosmicki JA, Wang J, Breen MS, De Rubeis S, An JY, Peng M, Collins R, Grove J, Klei L, Stevens C, Reichert J, Mulhern MS, Artomov M, Gerges S, Sheppard B, Xu X, Bhaduri A, Norman U, Brand H, Schwartz G, Nguyen R, Guerrero EE, Dias C, Autism Sequencing Consortium, iPSYCH-Broad Consortium, Betancur C, Cook EH, Gallagher L, Gill M, Sutcliffe JS, Thurm A, Zwick ME, Børglum AD, State MW, Cicek AE, Talkowski ME, Cutler DJ, Devlin B, Sanders SJ, Roeder K, Daly MJ, Buxbaum JD
Abstract We present the largest exome sequencing study of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to date (n = 35,584 total samples, 11,986 with ASD). Using an enhanced analytical framework to integrate de novo and case-control rare variation, we identify 102 risk genes at a false discovery rate of 0.1 or less. Of these genes, 49 show higher frequencies of disruptive de novo variants in individuals ascertained to have severe neurodevelopmental delay, whereas 53 show higher frequencies in individuals ascertained to have ASD; comparing ASD cases with mutations in these groups reveals phenotypic differences. Expressed early in brain development, most risk genes have roles in regulation of gene expression or neuronal communication (i.e., mutations effect neurodevelopmental and neurophysiological changes), and 13 fall within loci recurrently hit by copy number variants. In cells from the human cortex, expression of risk genes is enriched in excitatory and inhibitory neuronal lineages, consistent with multiple paths to an excitatory-inhibitory imbalance underlying ASD.

NORMAN HAKIM
Tumblr media
Born in Kota Tinggi, Johor, Norman Hakim grew up in KL for the most part of his life. This 22 years old artist has been blessed to be surrounded by lovely and wonderful multiracial community. Norman for short is currently pursuing his Bachelor Degree in Fine Art.
Norman is known among his peers and family to be an abstract painter. Norman started to fall in love with abstract art when he realized that the form of art is able to capture the emotions that he felt during the making process. To him, the starting was very vague, but in the end of the whole journey, Norman would be able to tell if the artworks are finished or not.
Again, Norman emphasis that his artworks are the reflection of his emotions, how deeply they are affecting him whether is it positive or negative. One of the main directions that he is taking in every painting that he did is to create a sort of seamless with no visible beginning nor ending.

VALERY KOH (POWPOWVAL)
Valery Koh, born in the year 1995 characterized herself as somewhat quirky, funny, emotional and clumsy. These traits can be seen in her arts. Analog and digital mixed-media collages are her truest form of self-expression. For Valery, collages can be said as ‘the coming together of somewhat or completely discrete pieces as a mediator of a story’. YouTube’s tutorials are the medium for her to learn the art of collages. She started with copying digital collages found on Tumblr and later she started to create her own. Valery started doing collages as a means to kill her time, but later Valery found that she has dedicated her time in making this art. It is no more a hobby but something she is very passionate to do so. Being a traveller and thrifter inspired her to incorporate the elements of nature, vintage and hand-me-down materials in her collages. For Valery, hand-me-down materials have a story to be told and it is what she is currently exploring and expanding. She also believes that mixed-media is among the best medium of storytelling – how each and every single medium can bring different visual elements to the artwork. She is currently exploring themes related to self-exploration, nature and memories. Valery hopes that in the nearest future, her artworks can expand beyond just herself.
