every post on here about siblings gets taken over by the same “real siblings are mean to each other all the time lol” thing and like maybe that is actual sibling culture for most of you but like. constantly constantly saying “sibling relationships are supposed to be mean” is alienating for survivors of sibling abuse. i dont care if its something you assume everyone understands and relates to, for a lot of people “mean” sibling relationships are horrific, and people on here continually insisting that its actually the norm and shutting down every single conversation about siblings or sibling relationships in media with “lol well me and my siblings beat the shit out of each other” is just fucking annoying.

#lime.txt #like. idk man like. sure maybe u and ur brother hit each other all the time and u understand that its a joke and its fine #in which case good for you have fun. but me and my (good) sister are extremely close and would never ever hit each other #bc we’re both so so traumatized by the violence of our other sister #and it sucks when ur abuser is a sibling bc ppl like. dont take it seriously #or just assume its ur dad. and then you can’t talk about experiencing abuse because you dont want your dad to face repercussions bc it isnt #being done by ur dad #this is too personal etc etc but like it is alienating to never be able to talk about siblings ever bc everyone assumes that their experienc #is universal. and then you get ‘siblings are mean to each other’ being added on to every single post abt family dynamics #like. shut the fuck up i dont give a shit abt u and ur brother this can be triggering for people
