Bergen is a Norwegian city on the country’s southwestern coast. Mountains and fjords surround it, notably the country’s longest and deepest, Sognefjord. Bergen, a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, has a lot to offer seafood lovers – or, to put it another way, foodies in general. Bergen cuisine revolves around fresh fish. Bergen fish soup, fish cakes, and “persetorsk,” a classic Bergen steamed cod dish, are among the regional specialities.
