i love captains-first mates dynamics so much because they are so different and luzo NOT being childhood friends to lovers and instead being love at first sight/only cremate luffy sought out/all that instead of 2 different kinds of growth together that kidkiller and lawbepo had is really so fun
luzo are not a slow burn they are an explosion, luffy waits for nothing, he isnt scared to lose this new and precious friendship he found. idk if theres a fic but there should be where luzo first time is post mihawk. luffy getting a clear confirmation that zoro is his and since he is His why wouldnt he tear into him. yes grave injury may be a turn off but seeing a weakened and vulnerable zoro makes luffy insane (hes alive that placated some of his protective instincts, his worry is settling down) he hates that zoro is hurt but his weak voice makes him hard and zoros proclamation of loyalty is vivid in luffy's mind. that's his right there he doesnt want to wait ..they can be careful right it's fine (zoro is crazy enough to go along you know this)
the way the power balance is so different where luzo are most equal and lawbepo is the least lol
personally i love thinking that out of aaaaalll of them killer is the most mature and savvy when it comes to relationships (because while law got more seriousness in him than the remaining five combined - he is very able to hurt bepo) killer got his cute level headed moments i adore. i love that he can hold kid on a short leash and make him think it was his idea But also just allow kid to do whatever because he adores him
⬆️ being true for all vices but in different ways. killer is indulgence, idk if im overfocusing on their age gap but imo killer somewhat still feels like taking care of kid as a younger brother so that "sure babe" is laced with care, adoration, acute awareness that he is letting a wild horse run free and it will surely break something and hurt itself and "i have a firm hand on your arm so you dont trip, i love you"
bepo sees law as godlike of course captain can do whatever, his word is absolute and he is never wrong. "you are the best thing around and the best thing in my life i love you"
zoro is so hard when luffy is wilding out it stops his brain function. "i will lose all my limbs for you i love you"

Closed, plotted starter for @ssolessurvivor
To be fair, Stephen hadn't planned to be here. Simply because he's only taking the really, really interesting stuff - and, just a few seconds ago, every new patient that had been submitted was far from that. Far from interesting enough to catch his attention.
However, when Christine had told him that the guy that's just arrived sustained injuries that are otherworldly, so to say, and that he is the only survivor of a whole colony planted up onto that god-forsaken moon named Mimas... well, let's say that Stephen had changed his own mind rather quickly, within one sip of tea, actually.
So that's why he is here, fully dressed up, hands gloved, mask covering half of his face. The man - or whatever one can still see of him, really - is in quite rough shape; There's more blood on him than seems to still be pulsing inside his veins, where it belongs, and his injuries are severe. They might be the most severe thing the Neurosurgeon has seen up until this day - and he's been working here for a little while, after all.
Even though he's here to manage the brain-stuff, Stephen actually finds himself switching places during the surgery that takes so, so much longer than anticipated; His steady hands are very much welcomed here and let's just be honest, he loves to show off. To be the one re-attaching nerves that are deemed unsalvageable by others gives him a bit of a kick, so he does that here and there, connects tissue while others connect bones, then puts his attention back on that brain that has seriously suffered from not only the attack the man has survived, but also the freezing cold his body has been exposed to for what must have been a prolonged amount of time.
But, funny enough, that has also saved him, in the end. Prevented too much tissue from dying, getting shock-frosted instead and preserved. After bringing the poor guy back from the death mid-surgery, and after hours and hours of intense concentration and firm focus have passed...
... They're done. Surgery is over.
Fuck, Stephen hasn't felt that exhausted in a while. He drops whatever he's holding, lets someone else deal with the aftermath of sewing remaining wounds shut and clean up, all of that, before he turns and leaves to the sinks; Christine hurries after him, taking his bloody gloves and helps him out of his equally as bloody gown.
"Hope that guy's got a good insurance.", is what he tells her, to which she rolls her eyes at him; He's used to that, so Stephen doesn't mind. "---That's going to get expensive on him; I'm not in the mood to deal with another law-suit, all of that."
"Charming.", is what Christine replies, and the surgeon lets out a little sigh in return before glancing back over his shoulder, briefly so.
Despite the way he acts... he's actually quite fascinated by that case. The fact that this guy, this man, is the sole survivor of what must have been unspeakable horror. The injuries are noteworthy; Stephen will write them down later, create a bit of a file, simply because he's never seen something like that before and his morbit curiosity strikes with that one.
Little does he know that, many years later, he will think of it again...

full name: julian bentley redding nicknames: jules gender & pronouns: cis man, he / him age & date of birth: 32 ( december 11, 1990 ) zodiac sign: sagittarius sexual orientation: bisexual hometown: chicago, illinois time in aurora bay: 1 month occupation: journalist / humanitarian / former foreign policy advisor positive traits: resourceful, charming, strong-willed negative traits: vindictive, opportunistic, sarcastic
trigger warnings: mentions of substance abuse, car accident, injury.
the reddings were an affluent family from chicago with strong political ties and associations with rich, influential figures not only in america but in europe as well. hence, it would come as no surprise that the children were expected to showcase their pedigree and uphold the family name. this was no easy feat to accomplish — the pressure was not only within the family, but outside as well. the city was their spectator, which made the family work doubly hard to keep up appearances and ensure that every accomplishment would supersede any failures or blunders, especially from julian's older brother, dean.
despite this, julian had idolized his brother, worshiped the ground he walked on, thought the world of him. and so when an example was made out of him by their father due to his stubborn life choices by casting him out of their home and cutting off financial support, julian was deeply hurt that his brother didn't even fight to stand by him, instead leaving him to take the pressure on his own. even when dean had later reached out to join him ( an easy escape out of his personal hell that he still sometimes thinks about, wonders how different his life would be if he'd just said yes ), julian didn't want to gamble his life away for whatever dean felt like risking at the time when he had a bright future ahead of him.
and much to their parents' pride, julian did not, in fact, disappoint. the boy was always incredibly smart for his age. he was able to skip a few grades while under a gifted program, entering writing competitions while keeping an active involvement in sports. he was admitted to northwestern university at just 15, graduated at nineteen, and later attended law school at uc berkeley in the same year, during which he juggled his studies, volunteer work for unicef, and an internship at a reputable law firm he would later be working for. his involvement in politics would come sooner rather than later — an inevitability, as some would say, due to his family background — and served initially as a speechwriter for a highly-regarded diplomat, a family friend, but would later be appointed in offices to oversee matters of international relations. he would become no stranger to regularly traveling the world for both business and pleasure, from attending global summits in beijing to grands prix in monaco to a football match in spain to interviewing protesters in cairo. an impressive resume made him a shoe-in for a journalism fellowship at reuters in oxford, uk. all this before he was even 30.
his massive success was thanks, in no small part, to his parents’ wealth and connections, but was also largely a combination of sheer determination, brains, a paralyzing fear of his father, and a generational coping mechanism in the form of substance abuse. it started with a burgeoning pill habit at 16, then it was coke, then it was molly. he was quietly taking after his older brother in a way that he would violently deny if anyone had brought it up, would insist that he was nothing like him. that at least he’d made something out of his life.
but they were just a case of the same monsters, different closets. the truth was that in spite of his grand achievements, julian did not, in fact, have a fulfilling life. he was unable to sustain relationships, both in the friendship variety and otherwise. professionally, he was known to have a flaring temper, using abusive language in the workplace when there were no cameras or microphones around. a lot of his free time was spent on benders, recklessly spending money and putting chemicals into his body and later taking downers to ground himself when it was time to get back to work. if anyone asked, he’d been burnt out since he was 18, but failure was not an option in their family, not if he still wanted to be a part of it.
he was 31 and had been living in los angeles for three years when he’d gotten engaged to his girlfriend, a childhood acquaintance, though more out of a shared feeling of obligation than genuine, romantic love, really. it would also come as no surprise to anyone that the pair had been complicit in each other’s madness, with both of them still tending to skeletons in their respective closets. a trip to monaco to celebrate the engagement would lead to a series of bad decisions that would end up with tangled bodies in a car that no longer looked like a car, but more of a tin can crushed with the consequences of their actions and regrets. both survived, but the relationship didn’t. julian would return to work just three months after the accident, against the advise of doctors, allowing little to no time for his mind and body to recover. stubbornly, he refused to get checked out by a neurologist, at least, until he started dropping out of conversations and having problems with his fine motor skills that were later recognized as effects of a traumatic brain injury he’d sustained from the accident.
feeling like he needed to change something in his life, he decided that perhaps moving would make him feel better. he decided to sell his apartment in los angeles to move to a smaller town just a few of hours’ drive away, and buy a condo next to the beach. finding out his brother was also in town was not so much a coincidence as a planned move — he’d always known that dean was close by when he started living in LA, he just didn’t have the heart to face him, at least, until now.

Headache After a Missouri Car Accident - When to Seek Legal Help
Tumblr media
Experiencing a headache after a car accident is not uncommon. But if it's just minor discomfort does it warrant a visit to the doctor? And when should you seek legal help? This article explores these questions and offers essential advice to help you understand your options.
Understanding Post-Accident Headaches
Headaches can occur for a variety of reasons after a car accident. They may result from the stress and adrenaline of the event, a concussion, whiplash, or even more severe traumatic brain injuries. Though it might seem trivial initially, a headache can sometimes be a warning sign of a more serious condition that could have long-term consequences.
When to Seek Medical Attention
If you notice persistent headaches following a car accident, do not ignore them. Seek medical attention immediately if you experience symptoms such as:
Severe headache or a headache that worsens with time
Headache accompanied by neck stiffness, nausea, or vomiting
Confusion, difficulty speaking, or slurred speech
Seizures or loss of consciousness
Remember, it's always better to be safe and get checked out, even if it feels like just a minor headache. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent potential complications down the line.
When to Seek Legal Help
Just as it's important to seek medical help for post-accident headaches, it's equally crucial to consult with a legal professional, particularly in the state of Missouri. If the accident was not your fault and you've suffered an injury, such as headaches or other medical conditions, you have the right to claim compensation for your suffering and medical expenses.
In some cases, the headaches may not manifest until days after the accident, which can make it challenging to link them to the accident and claim compensation. This is where a knowledgeable Missouri car accident lawyer can prove invaluable. They can guide you through the complex legal process and help you understand your rights.
Benefits of a Missouri Car Accident Lawyer
A Missouri car accident lawyer can help you in the following ways:
Assess your claim: They can help assess the validity and value of your claim, considering factors such as medical costs, loss of earnings, pain, and suffering.
Negotiate with insurance companies: Insurance companies often try to settle for the lowest possible amount. An experienced car accident lawyer can negotiate on your behalf to ensure you get a fair settlement.
Representation in court: If your case goes to trial, a lawyer can represent you in court, present your case effectively, and fight for your rights.
Peace of mind: Knowing a professional is handling your case can provide peace of mind, allowing you to focus on your recovery.
Choosing the Right Legal Help
When choosing a lawyer, you want to make sure you select someone experienced in Missouri car accident law. At The Hoffmann Law Firm, L.L.C., we have a strong track record handling car accident claims and extensive knowledge of Missouri law.
If you've experienced a headache or other injuries following a car accident in Missouri, it's crucial to speak with a professional to protect your rights. Don't let a headache today become a lifetime of pain and financial hardship.
Don't wait. Reach out today to a Missouri car accident lawyer at The Hoffmann Law Firm, L.L.C. We are ready to assist and provide the help you need. Call (314) 361-4242 or contact us online for a free case evaluation.
