#i try not to complain that much about podcasts on the first episode #but i cannot believe this one led with speaking about curating a world famous medical oddities museum like its a dead end job #like lady if you dont want that job then leave and let a historian of science or medicine who would love that collection do it #it doesnt help that im quite familiar with the museum theyre talking about #and its such a monumental part of the history of 19th century scienxe #it's actually an incredibly valuable collection that makes people uncomfortable because It's 19th century collections of bodies #which comes with a lot of complicated curitorial questions about consent and colonialism and race #but that doesnt make it a spooky sideshow #which seems to be what the writers think historical medical collections are
