heyy, 14 and 22 for the ice-breaker questions?:D
Thank you for the ask! :D (from this ask game)
14. What do you think makes your protagonist relatable?
What makes Kendra (from Tenebris) for me relatable is her anger. Like being angry when seeing injustice or people causing suffering or just when you're overstimulated and you have the urge to just... lash out? '^^
About Thanea (from Aeternum): It always kinda bothered me when the protagonists in urban fantasy were at first completely repelled by the revealed magic and magical person in their lives and then immediately completely okay with it like it's the most normal thing in the world to suddenly have to fight for their life and being The Chosen One™️ or whatever, you know? I hope with Thanea I create a reaction that's more believable or natural? She already can see the supernatural so it's not exactly the same anyway but she's quite suspicious of Nevras but wants him to be trustworthy because she's been so alone all her life since nobody ever believed her or could relate to her. (Does this even make sense lmao)
22. If you were going to excitedly recommend your wip to someone, how would you explain it to them?
Alright I think I'm just gonna do one wip for this one, otherwise it will be too long. xD So let me tell you about Aeternum.
You know all those fairytales and myths and legends everyone has, right? Now imagine that all of them are real. Like, all of them. From dwarfs over the Sandman to your local stories about the haunted house outside of the village. The thing is: humans can't see it anymore. Well, except for Thanea who has never not seen them. Everyone including her parents thought she was crazy, imagining things and needs help. So she stopped telling everyone until one day while working in the university's library as usual she meets this professor - Nevras. But he's not human or at least some fucked up kind of human. He has unnaturally yellow-green eyes and black veins are crawling over his arms. And when he realizes that she can see that - which humans shouldn't- he asks her out for a coffee date. And from there her whole life gets crazy. She also meets Nevras' best friend Zalen, a fallen guardian-angel who owns a bar for supernatural beings where he's in drag at night. And he maaaayyybeee falls in love with Thanea's human brother Kjell but you didn't hear that from me sdkcjfkdl.
I wish I could tell you more but I think that would be too many spoilers. D: Oh there also appeared a ghost in the library shortly before Nevras met Thanea. She's very dramatic but loves that Thanea can see her. OH RIGHT there's also this extremely old diary Kjell brought Thanea from his trip to South America that he found in a little local book shop there that will play an important role.
