The more I read about depression the more I'm convinced that my brain is just a whole bunch of neurons trying to deal with both inflammation and balancing hormones at the same time, sometimes mixing up processes and accidentally metabolizing the wrong molecules at the wrong rates, making the entire problem even worse.

#late night ramblings #the thought came to me when i realized that every time i take ibuprofen i also feel less depressed #at first i thought it was just relief from the pain of a headache or cramps #but ive been doing a slight bad lately and weaning myself off my ssris (because reasons that i don't want to get into right now) #and on one of my no-meds days i was feeling particularly down so i decided 'why not take some ibuprofen? theres a headache forming anyways' #low and behold the depressive symptoms actually somewhat lifted a bit #so yeah my hypothesis is that stress leads to inflammation #which leads to brain processes unable to deal with both the inflammation and balancing hormones #which leads to mistakes in metabolising hormones which results in not enough hormones to function normally #of course im not a medical scientist or doctor so its probably more complicated than that #depression #the one good thing about taking so many bio classes is i can halfway understand most well written papers
