been taking a good look at my life up to this point and it's only dawning on me now that with the exception of one (1) teacher at a week-long writing workshop i took at age thirteen, i have literally never talked substantially irl with a queer person significantly older than me

#that uh. sucks lmao #it's cause i'm a minor and closeted and i live with Very Straight parents who know other very straight people #i've never been to pride. my parents told me once when i was younger that i couldn't go to pride until i was sixteen #cause i guess they have some weird ideas about what pride parades look like. and now my sixteenth birthday has come and gone #and i still haven't been to pride for fear of outing myself #(and also cause i never know where the parades are but that's beside the point lol) #all my teachers were always straight (afaik). no one in my family is openly queer. i have a 99% queer friend group of people my own age #but like. again they're my age. i have basically never even met any queer adults. i'm thinking really hard but nothing's coming up! #that's sad. i feel a little disconnected. #this is ok to reblog but know that i neither want nor expect pity or consolation here. this is just me musing to myself
