#percy jackson #i admit i was skeptical at first abt the casting because i grew up with the pjo series #but rick said that they really embody the characters and after seeing the cast pics #i just can’t help but be excited for it lol #and when i was a kid annabeth was a huge icon for me bc i was a blonde smart girl and she made me feel powerful #and leah playing her in this means that black girls get to see themselves in one of the best female characters ever #and that is so much more important than sticking to canon imo
