Hi! Your writing is really good and I can't wait for more. Could I request s/o who was a childhood friend of Moriarty brothers and is working with them in criminal world. Like she was a maid when Moriarty madsion burned down and she got out. If you don't want to write it feel free to ignore it. Just remember to take care of yourself. Have nice day/night!
Author’s note: I’m really glad and happy to know that you enjoy my writing!! Thank you for your concern and I hope you are in good health as well. This is my first request and I hope it is to your liking. I apologise in advance for any grammar or spelling mistakes and also for posting this later than I thought I would because I’m having public examination. Currently, we have just started a new semester and at the same time having a total lockdown T^T
Spoiler warning: Mention about post explosion of Moriarty household which is in Season 2
Tumblr media
You met him and his brother during a rainy night. It is unexpected but nevertheless you managed to find shelter for the time being despite you were drenched from the rain.
After fixing yourself a little, you looked around and saw two boys having the same predicament as you.
You looked and observed them but what you didn’t realised was that you stare a bit too long and one of them started talking by saying “Yes, do you need something?”
You thought you were subtle enough... but no you weren’t. Slowly, you began to talk to them just to pass time while waiting for the rain to subside.
Eventually, you get to know him and his brother named Louis. Through talking overnight, the 3 of you became friends as you do share the same thought and ideal with them.
Knowing how unfair the class system is, knowing that how you are looked down upon by the upper class, knowing that you won’t be getting any equal rights and you just hated this rotten world that is solely based on money or status.
You began tagging along with them and soon became inseparable, the 3 of you would go into the reading room of British Museum without permission to gain knowledge by reading the unlimited books there. After all, knowledge is power.
When the 3 of you were found out by the librarian, you were sent away to the nearby orphanage.
After a few weeks, both the brothers were adopted while you were hired as a maid in the Moriarty manor. You were an under class and because of that status often you had always been picked on by the servants there.
When the manor burned down, you were lucky enough to escaped and reunite with both the brothers and Albert. He took the name William from the second child of Moriarty.
Years have passed, you are now helping them with their ‘work’. You became William’s assistant and together both of you would plan on how to eliminate those bad nobles.
You are glad to meet them especially William, somehow along the way you develop feelings for him.
You always look forward to meet William and to plan on how to make the death of their targets look like an accident.
Both of you would talk about your day or start any discussion after finish planning. Through this way, both of you are able to cope up with each other.
One day, while you were in deep thought you bumped into someone. You closed your eyes in reflex and anticipated the fall but it never happened.
You opened your eyes and saw William holding your hand to prevent you from falling and pulls you towards him.
“Be careful there.” He said giving you a soft smile. Your heart just skipped a beat and you started to feel the heat creep into your cheeks.
“Are you okay, dear? You look flustered.” He said while observing your face. Deep down he knew about your feelings because it is mutual. He just wanted to tease you and get a little reaction from you.
Looking at your face which is even redder after his statement, he can’t help but to let out a chuckle. You just look so cute and how he wish he could protect your smile and your entire being from this cruel society.
Both of you would then take a walk in the garden and somehow without thinking you expressed your feelings. You were scared that he will reject you and thought of fleeing away but he caught you by your wrist.
He hugs you and return back the feelings that he holds for you. He placed a kiss on your forehead looking at you with a set of gentle and loving eyes thinking of how lucky he is to had met you on that rainy night.
Tumblr media
You met the brothers when you were sneaking into the British Museum again.
When you are turning into a corner you bang into the someone. You rubbed the throbbing pain on your head and look at who you bumped into.
When you opened your eyes, you saw a boy around your age on the ground rubbing his head as well.
“I’m sorry as I did not look where am I going.” You said as you held out a hand to helped him up.
As time goes by you begin getting closer to the brothers as 3 of you would sneak in the reading room together to read books and gain knowledge from it.
Unfortunately, you were caught by a librarian and the 3 of you are sent off to the nearby orphanage. Your bond with them begin to strengthened due to the fact most of the orphans are treated badly by those evil nobles.
You always stay by Louis’ side knowing that he has some health problem especially when he is going through one of his episodes which worried both you and his elder brother.
One day, 3 of you are adopted by the Moriarty family and you are appointed as the newest maid. Even so, the maids and butlers in the manor isn’t treating you equally as they mock you just because you are from the underclass.
When the explosion occur, you are glad that you survived and with minimal injuries. Being a worry wart, you frantically find the brothers to make sure they are safe.
When you reunite with them, you cried tears of joy as they are safe and isn’t critically injured from the explosion.
When you saw the fresh burn scar on Louis’ cheek, your heart throb in pain for him but knowing he did it willingly as a proof of loyalty and recompense for Albert and his brother.
Years had pass, you along with the Moriarty brothers have grown and you can’t help but to develop some feelings towards the youngest Moriarty.
He became the ‘butler’ of the family as he is the one who will do the house chores from cleaning to cooking.
You often help him when he is making meals or desserts for everyone. You cherish these moments with him. Every second means a lot to you.
One day, you saw Louis is preparing some desserts for tea break and you decided to approach him and help him.
“Thank you for helping me.” He said with a small blush and a sweet smile. “You could start by mixing the ingredients that I had prepare.” He said with a soft tone and adoration to you.
When you are mixing the ingredients, Louis held your hands from behind and guided you the correct technique on mixing while explaining it to you.
You blushed lightly and well being a little childish you place some flour on his nose when you turn your body
Louis then place some on your cheek as a get back. Slowly, both of you just playing around rather than getting the dessert done.
He then embrace you and confessed his feeling towards you which you gladly and happily return to him. Louis then slowly close the gap and place a kiss on your lips to show his affections towards you.
He vow to protect, cherish and wants the best for you because your happiness meant everything to him.
Tumblr media
Well people said that the first impression is always important as how you present and uphold yourself which will either make or break an opportunity.
You meet him on the street, when you were begging for money just to survive as you were abandoned by your parents.
He slowly approach you with a concerned look. “Hello, I am Albert James Moriarty. May I know what is your name?” He said in a soft tone so that he would not frighten you.
You then introduce yourself and he asked you what happened in which you told him about what you have endured. He eventually took you back to the Moriarty family as he couldn’t find the heart to leave you there.
Meeting the Moriarty family is not pleasant but at least you have a shelter, food and water which are essential to survive. The price? You have to become a maid for the Moriarty family despite Albert’s protests.
After a few days, he went to the orphanage as usual to help out the care takers as well as spending time with the orphans by reading books to them or listen to them talking about their day.
Being a maid is not easy but it is even more tougher on how the Moriarty household treated you. Having to endure (original) William’s punishment, the scolding of Lady Moriarty and the discrimination of some other maids and butlers of the household.
From then on you hated the classification system but then you are grateful that Albert would help you whenever he could and surprising both of you have a lot in common.
Slowly as time goes by, the Moriarty family have adopted 2 brothers. You knew how the they are treated just because of their status because you were one of the victims as well.
You are close to Albert and the two brothers as all of you share the same thought and view about this inequality world and all of you vow that one day you will change it no matter what it takes.
During the very night of the explosion, you escaped with them and you were taken in by Lord Rockwell.
Years later, you helped (current) William, Louis and Albert with their plan by eliminating those bad and evil nobles in order to achieve their goals in having an equal life for everyone no matter what status you are.
You know that there is no backing out after what you have done but you do not have regrets about it since because of Albert you are still able to live until now and thanks to the 2 brothers you are still alive.
“(Y/n), would you like to have some tea with me?” Albert said while giving you a smile in which took your breath away. You admit that you have fallen hard for him but you know that he deserves to be with someone of high status even though you know he will not judge people by status.
Eventually, tea breaks are always a thing at least once a week for the both of you to unwind, talk about your day and just have discussion about the current affair.
“That’s what I like about you.” Albert said suddenly which caught you off guard. He himself is also taken aback about the words that spill from his mouth.
“Ahhh... that is supposed to be my inner thoughts.. nevertheless (y/n) I like you, I like you ever since we get to know each other, you might not share the same feelings with me in which I understand. I—” You then cut him off by placing a kiss on him.
Wow, you are bold for once...
He overcome his shock and return the kiss.
When both of you separated, somehow that confidence that you just found slowly fades and a deep red blush paints your face and Albert’s chuckle isn’t helping at all.
“Why the sudden shyness, darling?” He said liking your reaction towards his tease. You just wanted to ✨ evaporate ✨ at this point
He laughed seeing how quiet you are and said “I’m just teasing, I love you so much. Thank you for being in my life.” and placed a kiss on your forehead.

Part One

( gif credit to @sundomking )
“I cannot believe you left the Theatre, when I advised you not to.” Roth shouted.
You rolled your eyes, “I’m old enough to decide about myself, father.”
He stopped abruptly, his laughter booming suddenly. You stared at the maniac.
“You’re mental.”
“That I am, my daughter, that I am.” He grinned, doing the jazz fingers.
“What did my mother see in you? I can’t find anything normal within you, old man.” you stated, chuckling.
“Nothing, but she felt me.” he wiggled his eyebrows.
“You’re disgusting.” you scowled. “I have a dinner to attend, au revoir.” you saluted, smiling from ear to ear.
You backed away to a room with your clothes, picking a beautiful blood-red gown. Your (h/c) hair was curled, sliding down your shoulders.
Your carriage was already outside, Crawford probably sent it earlier. You felt your insides tingle at the very thought of him.
The coachman greeted you, helping you up the three steps.
“Thank you.”
The ride wasn’t long, only few turns now and there. You quite enjoyed it, watching people chatting, drinking coffee and laughing together. It made you calmer, since you were practicing shaking, partly from stress and excitement.
You - a young lady as yourself having dinner with the most powerful (you even dare say more powerful that the Queen herself) man, Lord Starrick. The Grand Master of the British Order in London. How crazy is that?
However you must admit, he’s a very handsome man for his age. Oh you could just imagine his glorious moustache on you cli-
No. You shouldn’t be thinking about such things. You two just met the other day.
But a little fantasy before dinner wouldn’t hurt anybody, huh?
Just before you could imagine Crawfords big, rough hands on your thighs, making their way to the place that needed his attention most, you realised the carriage came to a stop and the coachman held the door open.
“We’re here, miss Y/N.”
“Oh, my apologies, sir. The beautiful nature must’ve taken my whole attention.”
“No need to apologise, miss. Now of you go, Lord Starrick is awaiting your arrival.”
He gave you a reassuring smile, which of course you returned with a quiet “Have a nice day.”
The Starrick mansion was very mesmerising, however the man himself was waiting for you.
Quickly you passed the glaring guards, you so shameless seduced last time and scurried of to find the handsome man.
“Ah, miss Y/N. Please, after me. Mister Starrick has just sat down.” one of Crawfords servants declared.
He brought you to a rather large room, where a long table stood in the middle, with Crawford Starrick sitting at the very head of it.
“My lovely lady, Y/N. You look marvellous. Good enough to eat.” he whispered the last part, looking hungrily into your eyes.
You stood practically paralysed, has he really said that.
“Huh, what?” you asked, dumbfounded.
“I said, are you ready to eat? My cook prepared his special.” he exclaimed, looking at you in question though you could see a small smirk forming on his face.
“Oh, yes, of course.”
“May I?” he asked, motioning your black coat.
When he looked at you again, now just in your dress, you swear you heard his breath hitch at the sight of you.
“My lady, you look absolutely beautiful, the most enchanting woman I’ve set my eyes on.” he complimented, eyeing you up and down.
“Thank you Lord Starrick, you look very handsome tonight, well, always.” you blushed.
The man wore a navy blue suit and a smirk on his gorgeous face. You nearly swooned when he grabbed your hand, leading you to the table. His touch was electrifying, your whole body buzzing with excitement from next events that’ll bring the evening.
Taking your gaze from his form, you sat down. His hand softly touched your collarbone, sliding it’s way to your neck, where you could feel his breath.
“Dinner may be served, S/N.” he exclaimed, straightening up and sitting at the head of the table.
“Tell me, my dear, how are you on this fine evening?”
“Oh, Lord Starrick, I’m very well, how about yourself?”
“My day was rather dull until you arrived, looking ravishingly.” he smirked seeing you blush.
Soon the servants brought the special dishes. Crawford poured you his finest wine, shipped directly from Italy.
______
You two moved to another room, it was his office. You were sitting in front of the fireplace, leaning back on the gold coloured couch. The man himself was playing with his skilled fingers a soft tune on his piano.
Just some time ago he told you everything about the Templar’s and Assasins, trying not to smirk proudly for telling you about his all successful missions. You watched him in awe.
“May I have this dance?” he stopped playing, now standing in front of you.
Nodding, you took his warm hand in yours, letting him lead you to the middle of the floor. He wrapped his hands around you, swaying with you from side to side.
“You must be a witch, my dear.”
“And why is that, my Lord Starrick?” he felt shivers at the name.
“You’ve cast a spell on me. I can’t seem to stop thinking about you. All I have in mind is you and your truly beautiful face. I couldn’t even converse with Ms Thorne, could you believe that?” he whispered, nipping at your earlobe. You inhaled sharply.
“Oh, what can I say, sir? I must be cursed.” you have him your best innocent eyes.
He smirked. “Well, why won’t I help you cure it?”
“Shall we move to the bedroom?” you rubbed your face against his neck, inhaling his cologne.
“Brilliant plan, my lovely lady.”

want to write smut to it? feel free. hope you like it & im really sorry for errors or anything. thank you sm for reading 🥰

UK company linked to laundered Bitcoin billions
A UK company has been linked to the laundering of 650,000 stolen bitcoins worth £4.5bn, a BBC Radio 4 investigation has found.
The coins were taken by hackers from Tokyo-based Bitcoin exchange Mt Gox, leaving tens of thousands of customers out of pocket.
It’s not clear who is in control of the London-based firm Always Efficient LLP.
Mt Gox operator Mark Karpeles apologised to investors and said he was co-operating with the investigation.
The FBI has charged a Russian national with laundering the stolen bitcoins.
Mt Gox matched up those who wanted to buy the crypto-currency with dollars, pounds and other international denominations with those wanting to sell bitcoins, and handled an estimated 70% of the world’s Bitcoin trade.
The exchange was originally set up to trade cards from a game set in a world of wizards, spells and monsters. When it turned its focus to crypto-currencies, it appeared to be a huge success story.
Almost half of Bitcoin trading is done in Japanese yen, and there’s even a Japanese girl group, the Virtual Currency Girls, which reflects Japan’s growing craze for virtual money.
But a group of amateur investigators, WizSec, found that hackers had targeted Mt Gox.
They had systematically pilfered users’ accounts, hiding their tracks from Mt Gox operators for years.
And in 2014, the site’s chief executive, Mark Karpeles, made the horrifying discovery that hundreds of thousands of coins were missing.
When customers found themselves unable to withdraw funds, the site collapsed.
Speaking for the first time about the collapse to BBC Radio 4’s File on Fourprogramme, Mr Karpeles said: “It felt like… when you fall from a building and you see the ground getting closer, and you feel like you are about to die.”
He said the site had rapidly grown beyond his expectations.
“Mt Gox went from interesting project to being, I would say, a daily nightmare of dealing with banks, governments, people I never knew existed.”
How the coins had gone missing was initially a mystery.
But now investigators say almost half the stolen coins from Mt Gox ended up at rival exchange BTC-e.
‘Cyber-crime hub’
The FBI says BTC-e was a hub for cyber-crime and helped to launder money from hacks, including ransomware attacks of the kind that hit the NHS and other organisations last year.
But trying to find out who operates BTC-e isn’t easy. The exchange claimed to be operated by a British company called Always Efficient LLP.
Always Efficient’s registered office is in east London, but the address is shared by several other firms, some of which are thought to be involved in money laundering.
Duncan Hames, of anti-corruption group Transparency International, said it’s likely to be a shell company.
“People laundering money will set up a network of companies to create layers between the original crime and their attempts to then integrate the proceeds of their crime into the economy,” he said.
“They simply enable a series of transactions to take place to create this distance and to obscure the trail of the proceeds of crime.”
In an attempt to regulate these so-called shell companies, new rules introduced in June 2016 now stipulate that companies must publish a list of “persons with significant control” (PWSC).
Always Efficient doesn’t currently have a PWSC. The person most recently listed, Alexander Buyanov, is a DJ in a Moscow nightclub.
According to Andrei Zakharov, a Russian journalist who tracked him down, Mr Buyanov claims he “knew nothing” of the business.
Companies House told the BBC it had a dedicated team dealing with PWSCs, and took action when irregularities were identified.
‘Real risk’ to UK
The FBI says the man behind BTC-e is another Russian national, Alexander Vinnik.
Documents seen by the BBC detail how the stolen Mt Gox money was laundered through various accounts, usernames and email addresses allegedly controlled by Mr Vinnik.
Mr Vinnik was arrested while on holiday in Greece in July 2017, and is currently being detained in Thessaloniki.
The US Department of Justice now wants to extradite him to face 21 counts of money laundering and other financial crimes in the US.
Mr Zakharov said: “They were on the beach and his wife was swimming, and when she turned back she saw a lot of people with sunglasses near her husband, and that’s how he was arrested.”
Russia has also filed an extradition request for Mr Vinnik on lesser, unrelated charges.
The Greek government is now in the process of deciding between the two requests.
Via his lawyer, Mr Vinnick told the BBC he denies having any connection to Always Efficient.
He added: “BTC-e is just a web platform for buying and selling Bitcoin – not an exchange. As such it cannot be held responsible for the source of money used to buy Bitcoin, no more than a bureau du change can be held responsible for exchanging a stolen $100 note into pounds sterling.”
A National Crime Agency (NCA) spokesman said it didn’t “routinely confirm or deny investigations” but recognised “the very real risks to the UK and the UK’s financial sector from large-scale, complex money laundering.”
He added: “Tackling money laundering is a high priority for the NCA, and we have a number of national and international operations running against the criminals involved, working in close partnership with partners in law enforcement and financial regulation.”
Mark Karpeles was arrested and charged with embezzlement related to payments worth £1.7m. He says these were legitimate loans signed off by an accountant.
He’s also charged with manipulation of data. He denies all the charges – none of which relates to the loss of the 650,000 bitcoins.
He told the BBC he was doing all he could to return funds to customers and added: “I am very sorry that when I was in charge things happened the way they did.”
‘Unprecedented’ rise
Mt Gox is not the only Bitcoin currency exchange to be hacked. Even the Virtual Currency Girls have lost money following another recent Bitcoin exchange theft.
Under Japanese bankruptcy law, the remaining 200,000 Mt Gox bitcoins are valued at £300 each, the price they held when the exchange collapsed in 2014.
Since then, the value has increased to around £7,000 each.
Many investors are now pushing to see their Mt Gox bitcoins refunded at the current price, and a decision is expected within the next few months.
So regardless of the outcome in Mr Vinnik’s case, Mt Gox creditors who lost out might still turn a profit, thanks to Bitcoin’s unprecedented rise.

The longest suicide note in history
Yesterday morning a quite remarkably rant was posted on the Facebook page of Theresa May - remarkably not because of its brutal honesty but because of the quite staggering amount of outright lies, blistering arrogance and staggering amount of delusion.
And here is what is wrong with every single section of it...
If I lose just six seats I will lose this election, and Jeremy Corbyn will be sitting down to negotiate with the presidents, prime ministers and chancellors of Europe
It took just six words before the arrogance was dripping off every character, because the opening gambit is patently false: Theresa May cannot lose six seats, she can lose only one - her Parliamentary seat in Maidenhead.  It’s hardly the first time during this election where Theresa May’s rhetoric can best be described as “I, I, I...” as her statement when calling the election was more about her than anything else.  if she had said the Conservatives losing six seats would have been enough for them to lose the election, that would be a more accurate description of the situation.
Except it isn’t, as it was soon pointed out that losing nine seats, not six, would be enough for the Conservatives to lose the election.  So just like her Chancellor of the Exchequer who got his sums wrong about the cost of HS2 by a mere £20bn, her Home Secretary who claimed the average wage for police officers in the UK is higher than the maximum an officer can earn, or one of her MPs being caught out making up what the Immigration Skills Charge was during a radio interview, Theresa May failed to get her numbers correct in her opening gambit.
Does this really sound like somebody who can be trusted to negotiate with the presidents, prime ministers and chancellors of Europe?  It’s no wonder her negotiating strategy thus far has consisted of empty threats and more empty threats.
For anyone with any doubts about the importance of this election, the events of the past week should have put them to rest. With the publication of the Labour Party’s manifesto on Tuesday, and the launch of my own plan on Thursday, it is clearer than ever just how much is at stake.
The Labour manifesto is fully costed, telling people not only what their policies are but how they will be paid for - which of course led to talk of “magic money trees” asking where he will get the funding from, even though where that funding will come from is spelled out in the manifesto.
The Conservative manifesto does explain where the funding will come for over fifty pledges contained within - so where was the talk of “magic money trees” then?
Also contained within the Conservative manifesto was what is being referred to as Dementia Tax, where the cost of caring for those suffering from dementia will be paid for with the personal assets of the person who suffered from dementia.  Note the use of the past tense: this money will be taken after they die.  The fact that this policy was proposed during Dementia Awareness Week makes it that much more barbaric.
Stepping away from the policies for a moment, it;s also worth pointing out this paragraph contains the second example of May’s “I, I, I...” language when describing this election, even though people do not elect a leader in this country, they elect their Member of Parliament to represent them in the House of Commons.
Labour’s plan – with its fantastical promises and utopian vision – would drag this country back to the past. It would undo all the progress we have made, return us to the days when the trade unions held sway, and put our economic security at risk.
When did having a utopian vision become a bad thing?  Considering the opposite would be a vision for the future described by the likes of George Orwell, Aldous Huxley and the Bioshock franchise, I can’t understand why any party would write a manifesto saying their vision of society was one that Winston Smith knew so well.
More importantly, as especially since one of the well-worn soundbite about Labour is that “Jeremy Corbyn will drag the country back to the 1970s”, it’s worth pointing out some of the policies relevant to 21st century life that the Conservatives are proposing include bringing back fox hunting (a popular activity in the 18th century) and reintroducing grammar schools (a form of education popular in the 19th century)
As we’re talking about dragging Britain back to past decades, let us not forget that under the current Conservative government house building is at its lowest levels since the 1920s while the economy is suffering from its slowest post-crisis recovery since the 1720s.  So if this was a game of Top Trumps, the Conservatives are winning that particular game hands down because they;re not just dragging this country back decades, but even centuries.
As for putting the country’s economic security at risk...
It is a despairing document from a divisive party, written and shaped by a leader who doesn’t understand – or like – our country.
Can somebody remind me which political party has been so divisive that an internal party squabble somehow mutated into a national crisis as Britain was dragged out of the EU on a tsunami of outright lies? Was it Labour who were responsible for this, or was it the Conservatives?
By pledging an EU referendum in his 2015 manifesto to try and calm the right-wing fringe of the Conservative party, David Cameron is the man responsible for the most divisive issue in recent British political history, and not only did he horrifically bungle the Remain campaign - even though, after damn near breaking up the United Kingdom by bungling the Scottish referendum campaign, he should have learned to change his election tactics - but he failed to put a contingency plan into action in case the British electorate voted Leave.  And then he resigned in disgrace within hours of the result, as he was too much of a coward to sit in the mess he created, which is how Theresa May snuck into power.
Does that sound like a party that likes this country?  One where a leader places short-term political advantage above the actual country they're in charge of?  And let;s not forget about Cameron’s successor, who claimed to be pro-Remain during the campaign only to commit the first of her many, many u-turns once she lucked her way into power?  Doesn’t that sound like someone who places their political career above the wellbeing of the country?  That doesn’t sound like someone who likes this country.
Jeremy Corbyn has spent decades apologising for Britain. He accuses me of wanting to wrap myself in the Union Flag, as if that were a term of abuse. It’s little wonder that even traditional Labour voters look at what he believes in and are appalled.
Why does this sound so familiar?  I am sure I heard a similar sentiment somewhere.  I guess we can count ourselves lucky that nobody can think of any reason why apologising for this country might be necessary.
This is the point where this statement really begins to go off the rails, because by claiming that using the term “wrap myself in the Union Flag” is being used as a term of abuse is completely ignorant of the fact that the term is used as a term of abuse.  It took me five seconds to Google that definition (and several others) and yet apparently there isn’t a single researcher at Conservative Central Office who could have looked that one up.
He has disowned and rejected the core values of Labour’s most loyal supporters to put his own extreme ideological obsessions first.
This is an outright lie, a lie that insults the intelligence of anyone who remembers the pre-Blair Labour party as they are fully aware that Corbyn has not rejected the core values of Labour or their supporters, he has rejected the core values of New Labour - and let us not forget that Margaret Thatcher herself, the antithesis of Labour’s core values, stated that her greatest achievement was the creation of New Labour.
The prospect of him walking through the door of Number 10, flanked by John McDonnell and Diane Abbott and propped up by the Liberal Democrat and nationalist parties, should scare us all.
If the last section wasn’t insulting, this one certainly is.
First of all, in the 2010 general election the Conservatives failed to achieve an outright majority, and the only way they were able to get into power was by forming a coalition with the Liberal Democrats, which is something Theresa May should have remembered considering this is how she was able to become Home Secretary.  Equally she should have remembered a large part of the reason why she became Prime Minister was because of the nationalist parties, as the defection of Jim Reckless and Douglas Carswell from the Conservatives to UKIP played a large part in the reason why Cameron pledged the EU Referendum in the first place, and which nationalist party was prominent in the Leave campaign that put the country on course to have Theresa May become Prime Minister?  UKIP.
As for her talking about undesirables walking through the doors of 10 Downing Street, here is a short list of Conservative MPs who have flanked the Prime Minister as they walked through the doors of Number Ten since 2010 that I find far more abhorrent: George Osborne Jeremy Hunt Michael Gove Iain Duncan Smith Boris Johnson Theresa May Michael Fallon Amber Rudd Phillip Hammond Nikki Morgan Justine Greening Chris Grayling
And make no mistake, it could happen. The cold hard fact is that if I lose just six seats I will lose this election, and Jeremy Corbyn will be sitting down to negotiate with the presidents, prime ministers and chancellors of Europe.
The cold, hard facts are that not only is she repeating herself word-for-word at this point, not only is she once again saying “I, I, I...” about the seats of whichever Conservative MPs she believes may lose their seats, but she has still not corrected the six seat/nine seat error.
Yet with his manifesto this week, he has demonstrated that he is simply not up to the job of leading Britain through the critical years ahead.
Has anyone noticed that, while she repeatedly says the Labour manifesto is “weak”, at no point does she explain why she believes it to be “weak”?
Once again, the Labour manifesto is fully-costed, as is the Liberal Democrat manifesto for that matter, yet the Conservative manifesto is not.  Based on that criteria alone, which manifesto is the one which sounds “weak” - the one that tells you how it will pay for itself, or the one that expects you to believe they can conjure money out of thin air?
Manifestos are a test of leadership. They force leaders to choose their priorities, reckon with great challenges and face up to difficult decisions.
Jeremy Corbyn has failed that test. His shambolic prospectus ducks all the difficult decisions we face as a country, threatening to bring chaos to Britain and selling future generations short.
Some of the priorities chosen by Theresa May * Asset-stripping those with dementia * Means testing the winter fuel allowance for the elderly * Having animals torn apart by a pack of dogs while they are still alive * Taking away free school meals for children
In comparison, the key points of the Labour manifesto include * Pledging to reverse the funding cuts to the NHS * Setting up a National Education Service, providing free education to all * Improving worker’s rights, with a rise in the minimum wage and scrapping tribunal fees so people can contest unfair dismissal without paying £1200 first * Repatriation of UK infrastructure
I freely admit to cherry picking the best of one and the worst of the other for this, but here’s the point: none of the four Labour items feature in the Conservative manifesto, and yet those are actual priorities for the people of this country.
I believe in being upfront and straight with people.
Theresa May has been so upfront and straight with people during this election campaign that she has refused to appear in any televised leader’s debate, mainly appeared at clearly stage-managed events (including at least one event that was falsely advertised as a child’s birthday party to stop the press finding out about it) where only pre-approved journalists can ask questions (and the public who were there were barred from talking to journalists afterwards), and has had journalists shut out from these same events - and this is hardly new behavior for her, given she was adamant on micromanaging everything into oblivion when she was Home Secretary.
More than this, Theresa May believes in being upfront and straight with people that she repeatedly claimed she would not call a general election before 2020...and then went and called one.
We face some great challenges as a nation.
Not least nurses and members of the police force having to use food banks - something which Theresa May has great difficulty trying to explain how this has happened.
How to make sure our economy stays strong; how we ensure Britain emerges from Brexit stronger, more united and more confident than ever before;
The wording here is downright perplexing, considering we’ve heard several times already about “tough decisions” and “critical times” and yet now we’re told the economy is “strong” - so which is it?  If the economy is as strong as she suggests, wouldn’t that mean the decisions aren’t so tough as we’re all living in a forest of magic money trees?
Or is it that the economy isn't strong as a result of the Leave vote and she’s merely thrown yet another blatant lie into this library of lies, damn lies and...I was about to complete the sentence, but then realised there isn’t a single statistic in here.
how we overcome social divisions, spread opportunity and make Britain the world’s Great Meritocracy
Britain isn’t a meritocracy, far from it, as social mobility has stagnated due to one barrier after another being erected.  From ever-increasing student loan repayments to house prices that have ballooned since the 1970s, from wages being their lowest for seventy years to above ever-increasing price hikes on food, fuel and rail fares, meritocracy is a myth in this country.
how to restore the contract between generations, providing security for older people while being fair to the young;
Is that by stealing food from the mouths of the latter, while asset-stripping the former?  because that’s what’s in the Conservative manifesto.
and how we seize the opportunities on offer in a digital world.
Talking about opportunities in the digital world a week after the NHS was brought to its knees by a ransomware attack made possible by the Conservatives being so keen to “seize the opportunities on offer in a digital world” that not only has the NHS has been running on Windows XP, an operating system launched in 2001, replaced by Windows Vista in 2007, and hasn’t had any security updates since 2014, but it soon came to light that Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt ignored repeated warning to upgrade the system’s security in order to save £5.5m.
Far, far worse than that is Theresa May’s proposal to have an internet that is controlled and regulated by the government, which includes huge restrictions on what people can post, share and publish online, while we have also had Home Secretary Amber Rudd demanding a ban on internet encryption.  In other words, not only would the UK have an internet more akin to that of China than any western nation, but that internet would be open to hacking from any half-decent hacker, meaning that the NHS ransomware attack could well look like a birthday party (and that’s an actual birthday party, not an excuse for Theresa May to avoid interactive with undesirables who might ask her questions) in comparison to the likely scenario for what the Conservatives thing their version of the internet should be.
We cannot wish these challenges away. But with a government that steps up, shows leadership and takes the big, sometimes difficult decisions that are right for Britain in the long-term, we can see them as opportunities instead.
...and we;’re back to doom-mongering with decisions that are big and difficult, even though the previous (much dissected) paragraph was talking about strength and opportunity.
The Government I lead will be that active government. A mainstream government that delivers for mainstream Britain. We will leave the European Union and the single market, and take control of our borders, our money and our laws – because we respect the will of the British people and recognise that, however they voted, people just want us to get on with the job of delivering Brexit.
So far Theresa May has got on with the job of leaving the EU by spending nine months doing nothing but uttering meaningless soundbites that may as well have been her saying "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious means Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" for as much worth as they had, issue one threat after another to the EU that is hardly going to be conducive to getting Britain anything approaching a fair deal when leaving the EU, and having triggered Article 50 she immediately called a snap election which means that rather than “getting on with” the task in hand she’s spending an additional two months organising a campaign for an election she said would not happen until 2020.
The fact she’s quoting the “will of the people” drivel spouted by the most vociferous of Leave campaigners as a means to shout down anyone who dares disagree with the idea that leaving the EU will not lead to a new Golden Age (but it is leading to a second Scottish independence referendum) is the rancid cherry on top of the stale and bitter cake.
We will bring net migration down to sustainable levels to tens of thousands rather than hundreds of thousands – because when immigration is too fast and too high, it is difficult to build a cohesive society.
Theresa May has made this exact promise when she was Home Secretary, and not only did she miss her target by a wide margin, but she also oversaw the highest level of net immigration in British history.
She failed to deliver on this pledge.  Miserably.
We will ensure taxes are low and money is targeted on the right priorities – because Conservatives know it is taxpayers’ money and we have a duty to spend it well.
Since becoming Prime Minister, Theresa May has broken pledges on not raising income tax and National Insurance by...raising income tax and planning to raise national insurance - only to u-turn on the latter.  How can anyone claim that they want to keep taxes low when they have increased them or planned to increase them in the past few months?  It’s absurd.
And we will invest in the future to ensure each generation is able to do better than the last.
...as long as that future involves attending a grammar school. For those that don't, you'll be going to an overcrowded and underfunded public school on an empty stomach, and when you graduate you'll find less technical colleges and adult education centres than there were a decade ago so you will have less chances of learning new skills, when you join the workforce you will be getting paid less than people who graduated ten years ago, and if you're lucky you may be able to buy a house by the time you're fifty - which will be sold from under you when you need care in your old age.
And we will continue to pay down our nation’s debts, because it is wrong to pass to future generations a bill you cannot or will not pay yourself.
George Osborne said the deficit would be paid off by 2015. That schedule was later extended until 2020. It was initially claimed by Theresa May the deficit would be paid off by 2022. More recently, she has claimed the deficit will be paid off by 2025.
In the space of seven years the Conservatives have got halfway to passing off the nation’s debts to future generations by taking at least a decade longer to pay off the deficit than they claimed in their campaign ahead of the 2010 General Election.
The next five years will be critical for Britain. Our future prosperity, our place in the world, our economic security and the opportunities we want for our children – and our children’s children – all depend on getting the best Brexit deal for Britain.
If those years are so critical, why are you bellowing "No deal is better than a bad deal" at every opportunity? That directly affects our economic security, which directly affects future prosperity, which directly affects opportunities we want for our children, and our children's children...and are any of them going to get a free breakfast?
That will require leadership from a prime minister who is strong enough to stand up for Britain, and a government that is stable enough to steer the country safely through the negotiations ahead.
It took long enough, but she couldn’t resist sneaking in the “strong and stable” soundbite that’s been playing from Conservative Central Office like a hellish symphony ever since the election was called back in April - although, after this tirade, the word “stable” really needs to be removed from their election materials because it got beyond the pale several paragraphs ago.
So far I have listed a Prime Minister who places their political career above everything else, a Health Secretary who is so callous about the NHS that they would rather keep £5.5m that spend it on protecting an antiquated IT system that is used by a service that was set up to keep people alive, a Chancellor of the Exchequer who doesn’t know how much major projects cost, a Home Secretary who doesn’t know what police officers earn yet does believe the country will be safer if we could be hacked at any given moment due to the lack of encryption on our machines - and all this is before other “stable” members of her party, such as the aforementioned MP who was pulling figures out of his backside on live radio, or the MP who told a child to “fuck off back to Scotland”, and then there’s the Councillor who posted a racist tweet while watching the Eurovision Song Contest, and then there’s the little detail about how they were apparently guilty enough of fiddling their election expenses in 2015 to be fined £70,000 - but somehow the Crown Prosecution Service bought the cock and bull story about how all thirty of their MPs (allegedly including the Home Secretary) being investigated were unaware of election spending rules.  Because of course they weren’t.
With a track record like that, how the hell does this sound like a “stable” government?
With his manifesto this week, Jeremy Corbyn has shown he is simply not up to that task.
Since this is another example of Theresa May repeating herself, I guess I should join in on the act and mention how we’re still waiting to hear about how the policies in the Conservative manifesto will be paid for.
For that reason, and because of the chaos his plans would unleash on this country, I will redouble my efforts in the weeks to come to earn every vote. That will strengthen my hand when I negotiate in Europe and help me build a stronger, fairer, more prosperous Britain.
As opposed to a party who not only unleashed chaos upon this country with the aforementioned inter-party squabble that mutated into Britain being dragged out of the EU, chaos which was exacerbated by a complete lack of contingency plan in case the referendum ended with a Leave result rather than Remain result.
Theresa May does not have a hand to strengthen, she’s someone acting as if they have a Royal Flush but the presidents, prime ministers and chancellors of Europe can all see she’s sat at the table without a single card in her hand and she still thinks she’s in a position to bluff.  She isn’t, she’s the political equivalent of that person two rows behind you at the cinema who will not shut up for the entire duration of a film, which is neither “strong” nor “stable” but an irritant who people are stuck with for the duration of the film.
A country our children and grandchildren are proud to call home.
"Mummy, why is granddad crying?" "It's because granddad has had his assets seized to pay for his social care." Is that a scenario that our children and grandchildren would be proud to face up to?
