idk prev rb actually made me think abt headcanons innnnn enstars fandom n how weirdly binary they still r, in a way. shld i explain?
#its like. don get me wrong im a huge sucker for t4t always & in any form#but#ill use valkyrie as an example since its my specialty#its always rubbed me the wrong way that the general consenus on valkyrie when it comes to gender headcanons (in the western fandom mostly#esp twitter spaces n such#always bugged me how shu is ubiquitously assigned the transfem hc#taller n broader n more 'traditionally' masculine facial features with the contrast of his flamboyant gender expression & interest in#(generally oerceived as) feminine interests#versus mika..#bein shorter n repeatedly pointed out with femjnine traits such as longer hair n name n smaller frame#so he gets 2 b the transmasc ofc!#an its like. wgere am i goin w all this? its not likr im hurt by all dat#i love to see it as a transmasc introject in a bodily transmasc system!#but it still makes me think hmm. enstarries have rly flat visions of transness#even with a lot of em bein trans themselves the way they treat headcanons is sometimes very backwards#cuz this isn jus valkyrie case. theres a specific Type of character dat will get the 'amab transfem' treatment n then another one dat will#get the 'afab transmasc'#n its kinda generic... i think ppl shud unpack their own biases more often...#cause yehs while i participate in it to a degree it still scratches my brain in an uncomfortable way cause its categorisin experiences into#strictly 'transmasc' or 'transfem' ways of bein#when transness to me has always jus Been#sorry uf this barely makes sense#ppl on here r so eloquent n i feel bad whenever i rant....#sorries
