The Nightshade by Drew Estate
We don’t actually sell this one at my store, a regular customer gifted it to me.
This cigar is really up my alley. Rich, full bodied, smooth.
It’s really savory and meaty, with some white pepper on the retrohale. I’m also picking up some notes of raspberry and cedar.
Very good cigar.

Pappy Van Winkle from Drew Estate
This is an unusual cigar compared to all the other’s I’ve reviewed, but it’s one of my favorites.
The pappy can winkle is fire cured and fermented, giving it a very unique flavor.
It’s like a camp fire and a very petey scotch. Super smooth, most either love it or hate it, I am the former. I recommend trying it if you’re looking for something different.

Aniversario Connecticut by Aganorsa
A very good morning cigar. Smooth, creamy, rich, mild, and the perfect amount of black pepper. Got a little bit of a charred wood flavor, a bit of sweetness.

The LCA Whiskey Dick
So this cigar spent every stage of its life up to now aging in a whisky barrel. Even after it was rolled. The pre-light dry draw tasted like a shot of Johnny Walker.
Unfortunately that’s where the pleasantries end for me. I like whiskey, I like cigars, I even like other barrel aged cigars. This is just not it for me.
The taste is something akin to the smell of a compost pile. I just can’t do it. It’s bad, and it leaves a very alcoholic after taste in your mouth. It’s a very sickly sweet, tastes like I’m licking the inside of an overused barrel. There’s a note in there that I cannot describe, but reminds me of an old gross out toy I had when I was very young that was supposed to smell like rotten broccoli.

Leaf By Oscar 10th Anniversary
We just got this in today, and I really enjoy it. I’m a big fan of Oscar’s work, and I’m a big fan of Honduran corojo and criollo. This cigar has got them both in one package. I must say I am a little underwhelmed because I hyped it up a lot in my head, but it’s still good. I’m probably going to revisit it in a month or so to see how it’s aged.
Anyway, it’s got a good kick to it, very peppery, woody, and earthy. A lot of white pepper on the retrohale, leaves a spicy note on the back of my throat, medium bodied, not very strong in terms of nicotine. A good smoke, but I was hoping it’d be better.

The Menelik from Foundation
I like most of the stuff from Foundation, and this is no different. It’s a medium to full maduro. Very spicy on the retrohale. Gave me notes of coffee, cedar, black pepper, and leather. Quality construction, good draw, a fine cigar.

The Payback Maduro Toro
A quality maduro. Not peppery, not bitter. Got a little sweet chocolate note, a little bready, smooth and full bodied. Not super remarkable but it’s a nice experience.

The Bomba Orange from El Septimo
Now, I normally think El Septimo has some pretty good stuff, but this ain’t it chief. At least not for me. The whole cigar had an overwhelming citrus note to it. Felt like I was sucking on an orange rind. At certain points there were definitely complexities and hints of things that would change throughout the cigar, but the orange was ever present. If that’s up your alley, good for you. Otherwise it was smooth, had no pepper, a little bit of a tight draw, burnt well.
5/10, not for me.

The Street Taco Barbacoa from Rojas
I’m a big fan of anything Rojas, and this was actually my introduction to the brand some years ago. It’s a fantastic medium bodied stick, good construction, burns well.
Has some savory and earthy notes, as well as having some hints of cedar, black and white pepper, and I want to say turmeric. It’s a little spicy and has a satisfying bite to it as well.
All in all, I’m surprised I haven’t put this cigar on this blog before given how much I like it. Definitely recommend. My favorite size is the short corona, but they’re all good if you can find them.

The Laranja Caixa by Espinosa
Other than the fact that I will never know how to pronounce its name, this cigar is pretty good.
Mild-medium, smooth, creamy, has a nice citrusy sweetness to it. Reminds me of a creamsicle. A very small amount of pepper on the retrohale. Quality construction. Espinosa rarely disappoints.

Blood Medicine from Crowned Heads
This is a special cigar that you can only get from representatives or brokers during events with the company. Really wish they made it full production because it’s banging, but I guess it’d be less special then.
Medium bodied, a little spicy, white pepper on the retrohale. It’s very complex and has some good subtleties to it. Woody, earthy, kinda nutty. Rich and smooth, with a hint of spice. Very pleasant.

The Airbender Chisel from La Flor Dominicana
Pretty good. Smooth, light, earthy, and medium bodied. Has a lot of woody notes, a little leathery, I’ve got some pepper on the back of my throat, and black pepper on the retrohale. I don’t normally like Dominican tobaccos, but LFD does a good job with some of their stuff.
