been watching the NOTLD franchise and i made myself cry thinking about Mike, Bill, and Richie during a zombie apocalypse. Bill and Richie go get supplies while Mike watches their hideout and Richie gets bit and wounded badly. Richie tells Bill to leave because he doesn't want him to have to kill him he tries to be funny and make suicide jokes, but Bill knows Richie is afraid and doesn't want to die alone. he refuses to leave his boyfriend alone. they go back to Mike and they take care of Richie. Richie makes them promise they'll shoot him since they won't let him do it himself, he doesnt want to turn into a zombie "....even if these fuckers are kind of cool in a fucked up way" they hold Richie tight, they give him lots of kisses, and they let him know they love him. he takes his last breath, and Bill points the gun at Richie's forehead, but he can't bring himself to do it. Mike puts his hand over Bill's and they pull the trigger together. they break down in each other's arms.

alternatively Bill holds Richie in his arms til he dies. he waits a bit for Richie to turn so zombies don't eat his body before he can be buried properly. he waits for Richie's body to start twitching before shooting him the head then goes back to Mike. Mike is happy and relieved that his boyfriends returned until he notices it's only Bill, who is slowly stumbling, eyes vacant. he starts to panic thinking Bill is a zombie and Richie is hurt or dead somewhere til Bill chokes out a sob and drops to his knees. the lump in Mike's throat gets tighter and the tears are already spilling down his cheeks as he runs over to Bill, cradling his face. "Bill? are you hurt?" Bill shakes his head from side to side. Mike knows the answer before he ask his second question "Richie?" Bill crashes into Mike's chest "h-he s-saved me, and i-i couldn't-" Mike holds him, running his fingers through crimson hair. it matches the splotches on his shirt, is that Richie? Mike rest forehead on Bill's head, shoulders shaking. "i couldn't save him, Mikey."

"it's not your fault Bill." Mikes reassures him, but he knows Bill. knows it's falling on deaf ears. he starts to regret not going with them. he starts to feel hopeless.
