Connor and you had been at home most of the week. You had met a few years ago and have been inseparable ever since. Both as friends and now as a couple. Three years going strong. Due to being in a pandemic most days were spent at home unless having to do something important.

He had come back home from world juniors a few weeks ago and most days were just spent lazily in bed. Days filled with talks about the past, present, and future.

Past talks about how much your relationship had grown, how proud of him you were, and fond memories of stuff you guys had done.

Present talks about life. How you were really doing. The pandemic had taken a toll on a lot of people in many ways so you guys always made it a thing to talk about how you were feeling.

Future talks about your future together. You had always imagined yours with Connor after you met him. He was the same way. Since the first time he said I love you he had known that you were the one for him.

He had been quite clingy the whole week. I mean not that you minded but it was kind of surprising since you were usually the one latched on to him.

Now as both of you laid in bed with your legs entangled as the sun peeked through the curtains Connor spoke up. "I love you, you know that."

You turned over to face your boyfriend. You looked like a hot mess and laughed as your eyebrows crinkled. "I love you too bub." 

"I wish I could wake up to this all morning." He said as he ran his fingers up your forearm causing goosebumps to rise from his cold soft touch. 

"I can get used to this." You added. He got up from the bed and raced to the closet. "Wait here, I'll be right back." He said as you looked at him quite confused since you were quite comfortable.

He quickly came back and sat down on the bed as you supported yourself with one of your elbows. "So what was that about." You asked him quizzically. 

"Can you promise me something." He looked up at you, eyes filled with hope and love.

You nodded your head for him to continue. "Look, I know we are young and I'm not asking you to say yes or anything but can you promise me that one day when we sort our lives out together you'll marry me?" He waited for a response. Ready for the worse, if it came to that. 

Tears pricked at the corner of your eyes as his words registered in your mind. I mean of course you wanted to be with him. He meant so much to you. You shook your head and wrapped your arms around you as he placed a soft but deep kiss on your lips. "Gimme your hand please." He said smiling like a kid who just received candy.

You gave him your hand and he placed a small, delicate but beautiful ring on your finger. "I love it, and I promise you one day hopefully in the near future I will make your promise come true." You spent the rest of the day cuddled up together in bed with the bliss and energy of what had happened earlier.

during the pregnancy:

ok connor is def one of those dudes that tries to remain calm but is freaking out so much on the inside.

i just finished watching shameless and i am def not thinking of that as i write this. (no season 10 spoilers here)

young parents but i feel for the most part calm…

would give you your space.

knows if he doesn't. well stuff might go bad.

tries to make you as comfortable as possible.

cause he knows you are doing the hard work.

hospital + birth.

freaking out!!!

"remains calm"

watching some show at midnight and then you're like "my water might've just broke…"

"are you sure you didn't just pee?"

"No Connor, I did not just pee."

Tries to get you and the stuff in the car.

"Shit i forgot this, i forgot that."

Takes him literally 15 of back and forth until you yell at him that the baby is coming soon.

NERVES.

Omg this boy is so supportive.

Never leaves your side.

Even though he might faint as he sees the baby come out.

Tears? Uhh yeah.

"Baby look how beautiful he/she is."

tears are full on mode.

omg this dude would not want to let the baby go.

"Connor hun they have to check the baby."

"Is everything ok?"

"Just them making sure."

He would not leave your side.

Like at all.

Honestly kind of suffocating but you love the support.

other baby/child stuff.

would literally not leave the child's side the first few months.

gives you extra time to sleep.

you know he needs to separate at some point.

hear me out…

skin to skin.

just like the baby on Connor's chest as they take their noon nap.

sign me up to see that.

would try to be as involved as possible.

yes.

would be involved in whatever your kid is doing.

would call said child bubba, bub.

"connor you have to go pick up the medicine that the doctor prescribed."

"Can i go after, bub wants to show me what they did at school today."

omg if it's a girl he'd try so hard to try to learn and do hair.

and even if he couldn't, he'd still want to do it.

i feel like hockey would be a big part of the kids life cause of his dad being a hockey player but if the kid didn't want to play connor wouldn't worry.

def be one of those dads that lowkey loves family photos even though the whole process sucks.

would show photos to his teammates and annoy them.

"Y/N come get your man." They'd all text you.

overall i feel like he'd be a good young dad.

omg reading to the kid.

imagine.

i am soft at midnight…..

coloring!!

like sitting at one of those small plastic tables with the thick plastic little tike chairs.

omg.

would def have the works on the fridge.

i just remembered how when i was younger my parents would put my school awards (which i don't get anymore sjs) in my playroom and zary would def do that.

be like they need a place to see all of their accomplishments.

or just to feel like a proud dad.

like he'd be like "we raised that".

gives be boy dad vibes.
