Generally, the Enterprise was a ship for science and exploration, but occasionally they had to be assigned to other things, like planetary emergencies.

This time it was an earthquake and they happened to be the closest ship to that planet, being able to be there within eight hours, while additional help were three days away.

Nat was on a quick break, fetching another cup of coffee, when he bumped into Rou. “Hi, how’s it going?” He knew she had just as much to do as him during these kind of situation. Their work might be a bit different, but she could fix what he couldn’t, and she had earned his respect early into the journey.

Reg’s fingers drummed nervously across his toolkit as he stood, waiting. He’d pressed the chime what felt like ages ago, though it had only been a minute or so. Someone had reported a malfunctioning replicator in their quarters, and despite Reg’s stammered half-protests, Geordi had sent him down to fix it. So here he stood, hoping that this person was nice and didn’t mind a random engineer barging into their room.

When the door opened, Reg mumbled a bit before clearing his throat. “Um... I’m here to... to... to look at your replicator...”

“They might let me out of the hospital today,” Rhee said quietly. “They have finished taking the tests, but it will take some time to examine them. Sorry to bother you, but I needed- I wanted- some... emotional support. I am sorry if I have taken you away from something important.”
