not a new insight because I'm sure I've seen it mentioned before, but the ghost children from The Writing Room, trapped in their loops and reliving their grisly fate over and over again as foreshadowing for the time loops and our beleaguered grad students suffering their own various grisly fates over and over again... very I see dead people. and they don't know they're dead.
