Blah blah "correcting people is rude and annoying" whatever, but I need to get this off my chest:

Fandom in general: it's "pining" with two "n"s.

"Pinning" with three "n"s is what you do to pictures on Pinterest.

Unless of course you mean that two characters are jabbing each other with pins rather than talk about their feelings, in which case continue as you are.
