My art feels like it's in a weird transitional phase between styles which kind of reminds me of my teenage years, where some parts of me would change very quickly and others a lot more slowly, and the end result (me) would feel a bit uncomfortable.

I don't really like drawing clothing lmao. x) But if I really had to pick, I'd say jackets and hoodies. They have fun shapes and volumes and can really make a silhouette super interesting!

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw

Vincent, lmao. I mentally swear an awful lot when I draw him. Specifically his face structure and eyes. When I draw them like they look in the reference, it somehow never looks right and I always end up using a bit of that creative freedom to use different shapes that still (hopefully) look like him.

7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate

Sculpture and 3D sculpting! I'd love to get into one of those when/if I get more time on my hands.

14. Any favorite motifs

Does Fares Fares count as a motif

Thematically, guilt-ridden characters, flawed characters, angst and whump. And visually, I find golden hour light and strong shadows v nice!

1. Art programs you have but don't use

Paint Tool Sai. I loved it and used it for a long time, but I ended up switching to the iPad+Procreate combo.

Also, Corel Painter for PC. It's neat, but drawing with a tablet on a computer hurts my shoulder because of an old injury, so I just use Procreate on the iPad instead (this is not an ad I swear).

12. Easiest part of body to draw

Noses. Noses are cool. Love them.

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated

Huh, good question.

After browsing my tumblr, though, I'd say this one? It's cute, it has plants and an ikea strawberry plush and drawing environments is hard for me so my efforts should be rewarded! *shakes fist*

Hmmm I'd say this one, maybe? Without spoiling the show too much, the characters in this piece form a… conflicted family. Viren is… ahem, not a good dad, he's a super flawed character, and he's a morally grey antagonist.

Anyway, my drawing was a "what if things used to be better before it all turned to shit?" thing. Idk, I liked the idea that sometimes, you have good memories of people that turned out to be toxic later on.

But I made the mistake of posting it on the show's subreddit a few hours before the 3rd season dropped. And I guess my drawing got on the front page a few hours after the season dropped. So most of the peeps who saw my drawing were just fresh off watching the new episodes.

Turns out, in season 3, things somehow get even worse for this family, Viren spirals further into villainy, blah bla blah, you get the idea.

So of course, all the comments were like "ewww Viren", "big yikes", "dark magic is evil!!!!!!!!", and so on. Not a single comment was about the art itself. Felt a bit crappy tbh. Getting notifications that only consisted of character hate got tiring eventually so I deleted my artwork and never posted there again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)

Probably my first "serious" drawing experiences, which mostly consisted of… copying manga, like many artists my age I guess. I don't think it's super visible in my current style, but I still notice traces of it in my sketching process, in my linework and in my character's expressions.

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what

Most of the time, I prefer either silence or a podcast/stream! I find listening to people talking helps me get in the zone faster. I especially like SinixDesign's streams and videos, the way he talks about art always makes me want to draw.

If I'm in the mood for music, it's usually the soundtrack of whatever game or show I'm currently into.

I've also been listening to fan playlists recently – like these two. You may be familiar with them already. (seriously, the Vince one is so good afjljkf).

17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what I usually keep a glass of water nearby while I'm drawing! And sometimes a cup of coffee that I'll have one sip of and then forget about until it's cold.
