4 National Parks of Gujarat by Bright Holidays
Introduction:
Gujarat, a vibrant state in India, is renowned for its captivating landscapes and idyllic beaches. Gujarat has four National Parks and twenty-three wildlife sanctuaries which are managed by the Forest Department of the Government of Gujarat. It stands out as one of the wealthiest wildlife destinations in the country, boasting diverse natural habitats that range from grasslands to lush forests, sea coasts and lakes. This rich biodiversity attracts global tourists seeking to explore the state’s beauty. Gujarat is home to endangered animal species, making it an ideal destination for wildlife enthusiasts. Incorporating some of the finest sanctuaries into your itinerary allows you to witness these unique creatures. Following we have created a list of all four national parks of Gujarat.
1. Gir National Park:
Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, known as Sasan Gir, constitutes a forested expanse, national park, and wildlife sanctuary near Talala Gir in Gujarat. Positioned 43 km northeast of Somnath, 65 km southeast of Junagadh, and 60 km southwest of Amreli, it traces its origins to 1965, established in the former Nawab of Junagarh’s private hunting area. The park spans a total area of 1,410.30 km square, comprising 258.71 km square designated as a fully protected national park and 1,151.59 km square as a wildlife sanctuary. This region is part of the Khathiar-Gir dry deciduous forests ecoregion.
Gir National Park observes a seasonal closure, shutting its gates from 16 June to 15 October each year, aligning with the monsoon season. This conservation measure aims to protect both the wildlife and the habitat during this period.
2. Velavadar National Park:
Blackbuck National Park is a prominent national park situated in Velavadar, within the Bhavnagar District of Gujarat state, India.
Established in 1976 in the Bhal region of Saurashtra, the park is positioned approximately 42 km from the district’s headquarters city, Bhavnagar. Embracing the coasts of the Gulf of Khambhat to the south, it spans an area of 34.08 km square. The northern boundary is bordered by wastelands and agricultural fields. The national park falls under the 4B Gujarat-Rajwada biotic province of the semi-arid biogeographical zone.
Characterized by flat terrain, dry grasses, and herds of antelope, the park’s grassland ecosystem has consistently drawn visitors. Noteworthy conservation efforts have been dedicated to blackbucks, wolves, and the lesser florican.
3. Vansda National Park:
Vansda National Park, alternatively known as Bansda National Park, is a protected area that showcases the dense woodlands of the Dang and southern Gujarat. It is located in the Vansda tehsil, Navsari District of Gujarat state, India. Spanning approximately 24 km square along the Ambika River, the park is situated about 65 km east of Chikhali town on National Highway 48 and roughly 80 km northeast of Valsad city. The town of Vansda, after which the park is named, serves as a significant trade hub for the surrounding region, primarily inhabited by Adivasis.
Established in 1979 as a National Park, the deciduous forest area adorned with “Katas” bamboo groves retains its beauty due to the absence of tree felling since 1952. Nestled in the Western Ghats of the Sahyadri range, the park boasts a distinctive blend of flora and fauna.
In addition to the botanical garden, the park offers various attractions, including encounters with local tribes, the mesmerizing “Gira Waterfalls,” and the educational “Conservation Center.” To promote ecotourism, the Gujarat Government has developed a campsite at Kilad.
4. Marine National Park:
Marine National Park, situated on the southern shore of the Gulf of Kutch in the Devbhumi Dwarka district of Gujarat state, India, is a remarkable ecological reserve. The park’s origins trace back to 1980 when an expansive area of 270 km square from Okha to Jodiya was designated as a Marine Sanctuary. Subsequently, in 1982, a core area of 110 km square earned the distinction of being declared a Marine National Park under the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 of India.
This protected area serves as a haven for diverse marine life, with the surrounding reefs offering a thriving habitat for various species. The conservation efforts and the declaration of Marine National Park aim to safeguard the rich biodiversity and natural beauty of this unique marine ecosystem in the Gulf of Kutch.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, Gujarat stands out as a treasure trove for wildlife enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of ecosystems and natural habitats. The state’s commitment to conservation is evident through its four National Parks, each contributing to the rich biodiversity of the region.
Gir National Park protects diverse species, including the Asiatic lion. Velavadar National Park focuses on conserving blackbucks, wolves, and the lesser Florican in its flat grassland ecosystem. Marine National Park, along the Gulf of Kutch, emphasizes the need to safeguard marine life. Vansda National Park in southern Gujarat showcases the Western Ghats’ beauty, promoting ecotourism and interaction with local tribes.
Incorporating these national parks into one’s itinerary offers a glimpse into the diverse and thriving wildlife of Gujarat. The state’s strategic conservation measures, seasonal closures, and ecotourism initiatives underscore the commitment to preserving its unique ecosystems for future generations. Gujarat, indeed, stands as a beacon for responsible wildlife tourism in India.

COLLECTION OF PROSE-POEMS
Supratik Chakravarti

The Prevailing Traditions
Those were the years before the East India Company came into the History of India,
And when the Tehsildars were establishing themselves among the Noble Classes of India,
While the Supervising of the Districts, or the Tehsils were the requirements of India.
There were many Kings and Kingdoms in those whiles, and the Tehsildars were required,
By the reasons for the Supervising of these; as much as for their Historical reasons,
In the reasons by which these came into existence, from among the many occurrences of History;
When the demarcations of the Districts, brought newer and newer Supervisory exercises,
Under the reigns of the Kings; and those relevant measures which were in bringing for these.
In such a while as this,
Had happened things,
Which were in the findings of the while.
The findings are in bringing from the day when, a Horse Drawn Carriage of those years went by,
Trudging among the mud road, from within the Forest Canopy and onto nearby lands.
There was a girl and a lady of Noble upbringing in this Carriage, who were on a trip from this;
To another place, or a neighbouring Tehsil where they were travelling for a Secret reason of theirs,
And they were from the Tehsildar’s family, on their route to the Mansion of a Tehsildar, they knew of.
They were there for the reasons of an Occult Worship of the Demon who had come upon them,
And the Tehsildar was becoming this Demon day by day, while his acquaintances were becoming,
But a part of this existence of theirs, which was a secret to be kept, within them for many whiles,
For the reasons of the Supervising of the Tehsil, which knew not of anything else, but their Tehsildar;
Who had found this Demon, much though among his acquaintances, and their Occult Worships.

Marathi: The Pride and Prevalence of Language in Maharashtra
Marathi is language spoken by the Marathi people from Mharashtra state of India and is the official language of the state of Maharashtra. Marathi is the oldest of the regional literatures in Indo-Aryan languages, dating from about 1000 AD.
Tumblr media
Marathi is an Indo Aryan language spoken by the Marathi people of western India (Maharshtrians). It serves as the official language of the state of Maharashtra, with roughly ninety million fluent speakers in Marathi language worldwide. Marathi ranks 4th in India with respect to the number of people who claim it as their primary language. Along with Bengali, Marathi is the oldest of the regional literatures in Indo-Aryan languages, dating from about 1000 AD. Marathi is at least fifteen hundred years old, and derives its grammar and syntax from Pali and Prakrit. The Marathi language was earlier known as Maharashtri, Maharathi, Malhatee or Marthi in ancient times. Some of the peculiar features of Marathi linguistic culture include Marathi drama, with its unique style of 'Sangeet Natak', scholarly discourses called 'Vasant Vyakhyanmala', Marathi folk dance called 'Lavani', and special editions of magazines for Diwali called 'Diwali anka'. History Marathi started on its own quite early, but literary began only in 13AD. Marathi can be traced back far beyond the 10th century. It descends from Sanskrit through Pali, Maharashtri and Maharashtra Apabhramsa. Maharashtri Prakrit was most popular amongst Prakrit languages and widely spoken in western and southern India. Today's Marathi and Kannada speaking parts were speaking Maharashtri from centuries. The major dialect divisions of Marathi language have been Ahirani, Khandeshi, Konkani, Wadvali, Samavedi, Thanjavur & Namdev Marathi Ahirani Ahirani is spoken in the west Khandesh, North Maharashtara region. Ahirani is a language today spoken in the Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Dhule and Nashik (Baglan, Malegaon and Kalwan tehsils) districts of Maharashtra, India. Khandeshi Khandeshi is spoken in East Khandesh specifically in Yawal and Raver Talukas. Khandeshi is also called as Tawadi which is specifically spoken by Leva Patils dominant cast of east Khandesh. Konkani The constitution of India considers Konkani as one of the 21 official languages. In Maharashtra Konkani is considered a dialect of Marathi. The Marathi-Konkani feud and inclusion of Konkani in scheduled languages was mostly because of political reasons and status as Konkani as a separate language is disputed.

Gorakhpur Siliguri Expressway Project Complete Details
Gorakhpur:-
Gorakhpur is home to a plethora of temples and monuments, the most well-known of which is the Shri Gorakhnath Temple. It has emerged as one of the fastest-growing metropolises throughout the years. The Gorakhpur Siliguri Expressway is the most recent feather in the city's development crown
Tumblr media
About The Expressway
Gorakhpur Siliguri Expressway is a planned greenfield project as part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana (B.M.P.). The four-lane access-controlled highway will span 84 kilometres across several districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Gorakhpur, Deoria, and Kushinagar, before entering Bihar. It will then go through nine Bihar districts, including East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Darbhanga, Supaul, Kishanganj, Madhubani, and Forbesganj, before arriving in Siliguri.
The Gorakhpur Siliguri Expressway, proposed by the NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) in 2021, is projected to be completed by 2025. The NHAI commissioned LN Malviya Infra Projects Private Limited, Bhopal, to prepare the Expressway's D.P.R.
Following that, in May 2022, the land purchase procedure began. According to the design, no existing roads will be incorporated into this project because it would be developed distant from the population.
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways intends to strengthen Bihar's road infrastructure with this initiative. Once operational, it will assist the people of Bihar by reducing motor traffic from the state's eastern to western regions.
Because there is no direct route linking Gorakhpur and Siliguri, it takes around 15 hours to go from one city to the other. The completion of the Gorakhpur Siliguri Expressway, on the other hand, will substantially cut the duration to around 6 hours.
Tumblr media
Benefits Of Gorakhpur Siliguri Expressway
Uttar Pradesh has the most motorways in the country. Six of the state's 13 motorways have been built, with seven more under development, including the Gorakhpur-Silipur Expressway. It will connect to other roads, including the Gorakhpur-Azamgarh Link Expressway, making it easy to commute from Siliguri to key towns in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
The initiative is also being billed as a game changer for Bihar. It is billed as providing a boost to numerous districts in the state's northern division.
Gorakhpur Siliguri Expressway Route
The Expressway would run from Gorakhpur's Jagdishpur to Bihar's Gopalpanj via Kushinagar's Tamukhiraj tehsil. It would be a continuous highway linked to the Bareilly Gorakhpur Expressway, another of the Bharatmala Pariyojana's future motorways.
The Gorakhpur-Silipur Expressway spans 84.33 kilometres in Uttar Pradesh, 416.2 kilometres in Bihar, and 18.97 kilometres in West Bengal, totalling 519.58 kilometres.
Yogi Adiyanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, is the driving force behind the Gorakhpur-Silipur Expressway. The project's goal is to connect Gorakhpur with the North East.
This initiative bought land in 111 villages throughout Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, and Deoria districts, including 14 villages in Gorakhpur's Chaurichaura tehsil, 19 in Kushinagar's Hata tehsil, 42 in Tamkuhi Raj tehsil, and 13 in Kasya tehsil. Land was also purchased in 23 villages in the Sadar tehsil of the Deoria district.
Before purchasing land from these communities, the union government did a preliminary survey. During the survey, they made certain that land with widths ranging from 60 to 100 metres was obtained.

Below, we bring you six interesting facts about this beautiful Himalayan city.
Rich heritage
Legend has it that Manali trip has been named after Manu, the legendary figure of the Hindu ancient scriptures, who is said to be the progenitor of the human race. His son Brahma presided over creation and Dharma over sustenance — an element that continues in today’s architecture. Located at the center of modern times, it is believed that this place was once a pub reserved for saints and sages. This makes it perfect for your next booking!
Hanuman’s mother meditated here
There is one in Manali too. As per a local legend, Lord Hanuman’s mother Anjani had meditated and worshipped Lord Shiva where the Shivaling exists today. As per a local legend, Lord Hanuman’s mother Anjani had meditated and worshipped Lord Shiva where the Shivaling exists today.

A ghost temple on Gata Loops
The Gata Loops are 21 sharp hair pin bend-like roads. They are situated in the Manali-Leh road at a height of about 17000 ft above sea level. A ghost temple on Gata Loops is dedicated to a person who died of hunger and thirst about three decades ago while stranded in a truck all alone.
A man’s spirit is said to be residing inside the Gata Loops. If you wish to pacify him, then you have to take a bottle of water and a packet of cigarettes as offerings. This has been our belief for generations; thus it has been passed down from one generation to the next.
