Gavin Gunther, born and raised in the vibrant city of New York, is a 29-year-old individual who has always exuded confidence, intelligence, and athleticism. OVERVIEW.

-- Darragh was the only son of a single mother who struggled for most of her life. Aishling O'Connor became a mother for the first and only time at seventeen years old, and was ill-equipped to handle it after being cut off by her family for deciding to go through with the pregnancy.

-- Despite growing up in uncertainty, for the most part Darragh had a happy childhood. They didn't have much, but they had each other.

-- As far as schooling went, he never displayed much of a natural apt for it. He found classroom settings too restrictive and there was no specific academic subject that held his interest. The only days he would definitively be guaranteed to show up at school was when he had P.E. or football.

-- After a number of calls from his principal and run ins with other mothers on their council estate over fights and scrapes Darragh found himself involved in, his mother enrolled him in a local boxing club when he was ten, and it fostered an interest in the sport that has stayed with him through adulthood.

-- He found something of a father figure there in his coach and trainer, Tom. The discipline of the sport kept him on the straight and narrow, even though there were some run ins in his teenage years with the Garda for being present in robbed cars and where drug deals were occurring.

-- Darragh's whole world shifted on it's axis at his mother's death when he was seventeen years old, and then again a few days later at her funeral when he discovered that his biological father was both alive and well and a man that had three other children who were all older than him and a wife to boot.

-- This news rocked the foundation of everything he thought he knew about himself and his ma, and made him question every word she had ever spoken to him. As soon as he turned eighteen, after a few months of staying with the family of his best friend, he set off travelling rather than having to share a city with a man who knew of his existence and chose to ignore it entirely instead.

-- He initially moved to Australia with two school friends who aspired to do the same and lived/worked there for just under a year and a half before deciding it wasn't for him. Leon and Karl stayed on, while he set his sights on the next continent he would search for some semblance of a new start.

-- The United States were next and after spending a few months on the west coast, Darragh eventually found himself in East Haven, Vermont and decided to settle down there a while after deciding he liked the vibe and the people there .

-- To this day, he still keeps a pretty rigid training regime when it comes to boxing and devotes most of his free time to training / improving his skills in the ring as well as taking on amateur fights.

Mitch is the youngest of 3 siblings and grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. His parents were both very well off and successful music producers.

Mitch was kinda the odd man out in his family. He wasn't the most attractive of his siblings, nor was he the most popular. His brother was an all star athlete and class president. His older sister, Anna, was the the prom queen and cheer captain.

When Mitch was 12 his whole world changed. His parents ended up divorcing so his father could start a new life with his new boyfriend. His mother got full custody of him and his sister who were still under age and moved back to her home town of East Haven.

Mitch's family was easily one of the most wealthy in East haven, which put a target on him in school. Because not only was he rich, he was awkward, had braces, horrible acne, and new his freshman year of high school.

Mitch would have despised his entire high school experience if it wasn't for one girl in particular, Rhiannon Spring. From the moment he laid eyes on her, Mitch fell head over heals for her. though it took him forever to muster up the courage to ask her out on a date. But the two clicked, and it wasn't long before he said I love you. Eventually, Rhi said it back.

The two were an odd couple. Clearly from different worlds and social circles. But their love was strong. Unfortunately Mitch's mother drove a wedge between the two and they broke up. Mitch's world was shattered once again. When Rhi broke his heart his whole world came crashing down, not only did he loose his girlfriend, he lost his best friend.

As much as it seemed that Mitch had a charmed life, it was lonely. His father and older brother weren't a part of his life. His sister was always out god knows where doing god knows what, and his mother, well more often then not she was away on business.

Mitch is back from college. Having both simultaneously flunked/dropped out, Mitch's mother is furious with him.

The college Mitch attended was Boston College. He was a Business administration and management but was struggling because he hated it, but his mother didn't care and support him wanting to change majors so now he's cut off.

Now Mitch is working as a pizza delivery boy, putting tons of miles on his fancy sports car he really can't afford anymore and living off free pizza

Though he went away for college, Mitch never really left East Haven aside from college. He would come back for breaks and moved back home when school was out.

Mitch was premature and has a weak heart though he's never had any problems from it yet

Aindreis Kenneth Oliver Blythe sees light for the very first time on December 10th 1989 in Summerside’s General Hospital, the second biggest on Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island. He’s the second of what would become 5 brothers. Daniél, Aindreis, Tomàs, Ethan and Ianathan. Only three of them would be born on PEI. Indeed, as Tomàs, 7 years younger than Aindreis, was approaching his first birthday, their father, Neil, got the opportunity to go back to Inverness and take over his retiring father’s fishing company. So they did, they left Canada behind for Bonny Scotland. Aindreis was almost 8 when he put down his little suitcase in his brand new room, in an almost new country where the accent was funny to his young ear. He had never been a tall child, and he was lean, and having skipped a grade, he always found himself among bigger kids. It wasn’t easy, and now he was going to be the new kid. He wasn’t looking forward to that.

Turns out that he didn’t have to. Turns out that Inverness wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be. His cousins were around, and he met a best friend, Ali, the only kid who decided he was interesting enough to sit next to at the camp fire. Inverness slowly turned into a home, and Andy couldn’t ask for more. His family was complicated and getting crowded, but he wouldn’t change them for anything in the world. Scotland was more welcoming than he thought, and it sometime reminded him of PEI. Came even a surprising moment when his lips unexpectedly met Ali’s. He’d never thought too much about dating before that, but the unasked question had found an answer. An answer that stayed secret, hidden, to Aindreis’s sadness, but it didn’t matter. He was able to hold his hand at lunch behind the bleachers and maybe that could be enough.

But Richard Siken was right when he wrote “Someone has to leave first. This is a very old story. There is no other version of this story.” Ali left first. Andy didn’t understand. Well, he was never given a head’s up or an answer afterwards. His best friend, his boyfriend, just didn’t dare even meet his eyes in school hallways, and Andy was lost. The rest of high school went by with dimmed colours, but the graduated from his A-levels first of his class. Now, he could leave Inverness and all the memories, good and bad.

Stars. Andy’s passions had always been the stars, the universe, space, you name it. So he was trying to get closer to them. Astronaut was never his calling. Nasa, maybe one day. Right now, he was heading to Cambridge University on a fellowship for a degree in physics, with a minor in astronomy. It was his dream… And he threw it away. Looking back, it was a combination of so many things. Freshers week and student parties, a bit of lying to oneself that was we’re doing is definitely not a problem, Cambridge University’s tendency to ask troubled students to isolate as to not disturb the studies of others, a “predisposition for substance abuse” as the doctor said after diagnosing him with ADHD during the three long months he spend in rehab after being kicked out of university for being drunk in class.

Sobriety didn’t last long once he left. And he did leave. Roaming around Europe then Canada, spending less than a year in each place, taking on every small job he could. He stopped fleeing at the sight of every serious thing, every problem, everyone in Toronto. Toronto where he stayed longer than anywhere else. 2 years. One of which he spend with his new boyfriend. Relationship he threw away as he threw away 10 month of sobriety, imposed by a dilemma. Me or the alcohol. The alcohol, Caleb, you lose. Andy did lose too. Back to square one, he thought as he stepped back into a rehabilitation centre.

You may wonder where he went next. He went back to the green field and colourful boats of Inverness. It felt like a failure at the time, but it was the best decision he’s ever made. A decision that lead him to here, to coming to East Haven This time, moving wasn’t running from something or someone, he was coming towards a new job, and a new life with found-again love far from old memories. A new adventure.

tl;dr - quinn was born into an old money family, got into snowboarding young, put all her time and focus into it, became a pro snowboarder, and made it to the olympics but crashed out before her first race. took her almost two years to get back on a board and she ended up as a snowboard instructor – whether by her name or by her skill, who knows – but she's basically been hiding out in east haven since she got an instructor job at mount aston.

quinn was born into a family that essentially defined old money . from the moment she opened her eyes , she had a world of opportunities at her fingertips . unfortunately , these opportunities also came with a litany of responsibilities . at first it was fine . she even liked it for the most part – dressing up for the fancy events , all of their family friends constantly fawning over her , getting whatever she wanted for her birthdays and for christmas – but then , at 9 years old , she fell in love .

her parents had brought her and her brother allowing to go skiing with them , claiming the need for a family vacation ( they were actually meeting with business owners in the small town by the resort to talk about buying them out , quinn later found out ) . needless to say , quinn didn’t much enjoy skiing . in fact , it bored her . and so , being their wonderful and precious daughter , her parents allowed her to try snowboarding after she begged for … well , for like two hours ( they’re not very good at saying no to their daughter tbh ) .

and the second she got on that board ? oh man . nothing had ever felt so natural to her before then . her natural ability to make an entire room turn their heads in her direction was nothing compared to this . it was like she was always meant to do this . even the private instructor assigned to her couldn’t help but praise her for how quickly she’d taken to it . and so it began .

from then on , every spare moment quinn had was spent on a snowboard . her parents had the money and the means to make sure she could get the proper training wherever and whenever possible , so why wouldn’t they ?? they were nothing less than supportive , though admittedly it could feel borderline obsessive at times , but quinn didn’t mind . in less than two years time , she was already competing with teenagers and winning . her natural ability on the board and her innovative twist on various tricks flowed into her routines and it was clear she was meant for greatness . everyone started calling her q , and honestly she liked how cool it made her sound so she kept the nickname . ( her parents always made sure to use her given name , though ) .

for 10 years , she competed and trained and rose through the ranks . with the amount of time spent on snowboarding , she wasn’t necessarily up to helping out with the family’s business affairs , which left that responsibility to her brother . unsurprisingly , he began to resent her for it and the little sibling who once would show up to her competitions with entirely too many embarrassing posters turned into a young man who would barely speak a word to her . on one hand , she understood . it was never a life he wanted . growing up , he was content with sitting in his room and reading his books and thinking up ways to fly to saturn . but now it was his responsibility to keep their parents happy and to keep their clients happy . but as much as she understood , she wasn’t willing to leave her dream behind .

then at 20 , she was finally poised to join the olympic team . the previous olympics she had supposedly been too young , and despite the young girl being an absolute beast on the slopes , the qualifiers had been a challenge for her . the last event had come just hours after an explosive fight with her brother and despite how hard she tried not to let it get to her , she’d been unable to completely focus and completely whiffed the tricks she had planned and had to reduce the skill level for her safety . it was disappointing , to say the least ( and her parents made sure to tell her so ) . but now she was ready .

unfortunately , no amount of practice could have prepared her for what would happen . during a practice run , she’d hit a particularly slippery patch of snow and it caused her to lose control . next thing she knew , she was head first in the snow and there was a severe amount of pain coming from her left side . turns out she’d torn her left acl – for the second time ( and she’d torn her right one once already too ) – and dislocated her shoulder . the shoulder was easy enough to fix but the acl … well , that took a bit more recovery than she wanted .

she was pulled out of the olympics to recover , and it being her second acl tear , the recovery was much more mental than physical . by the time she was cleared to be on a board again , her mind kept her from it anyway . for her , it seemed that despite how much she was meant to be on a board , she wasn’t meant to succeed the way she wanted to . to keep herself busy , she took on other hobbies ( i.e. the drums ) and traveled to places that were anything but cold , fully content to do anything that didn’t require a board .

it took a while ( almost 2 years , in fact ) before she got back on a snowboard . but the second she did … she realized how much she loved it still . all that time away was necessary for her to remember why she loved the sport in the first place . she’d learned that success wasn’t necessarily about winning the most medals or getting the most sponsorships or even competing in the fucking olympics . it was about being to get back on that board despite the setbacks . it was about landing that cab 12 for the first time in forever . it was about getting other people to fall in love with the sport too .

NOW : and that’s how she ended up at the mount aston ski resort in east haven , vt . she’d only been a couple of times , but she remembered loving the slopes there . so she’d signed up to be a snowboard instructor and it didn’t take her much time to get to her level 1 + 2 certifications . her skills – and not to mention her name – were enough to get her that opportunity . that was almost two years ago . this season she was set to earn her level 3 certification and she couldn’t be more excited about the prospect .

A E S T H E T I C S / P E R S O N AL I T Y –

snowboarding is lowkey her life . like there are very few things , if any , that she values more and / or has committed to more than snowboarding . you can guess pretty easily how that affects her dating prospects .

she's sort of got himbo vibes , but she'll also throw out like random facts that she knows sometimes and people will look at her weird . not very talkative though unless it's about snowboarding .

a bit of a snowboarding snob . like she doesn't necessarily "look down" on skiers . . . but she doesn't necessarily respect them as much as she does snowboarders .

a sk8r girl ! getting back on a snowboard also got her onto a skateboard and a surfboard . she's not nearly as good on either of those, she uses her favorite longboard to get around when the ground isn't icy or snowy . sometimes when she get sleep , she'll go to the beach and just sit in the water on her surfboard to clear her head .

the sk8r girl vibes translate to her wardrobe – colder weather : hoodies , beanies , and snowboarding pants ( since she’s rarely not at the slopes ) , warmer weather : muscle tees / tanks , cargo pants ( bc she has it instilled in her brain to protect her knees as much as possible from getting scraped up but mostly she likes the aesthetic ) .

she has a bit of a strained relationship with her parents and her brother , but she's still a big family person . at the end of the day, her parents have supported her ever since she first stepped on a board – both financially and personally , so she'll always be protective of them in a way .

q being family oriented also makes her an incredibly loyal friend if you can manage to get through her walls and actually get close to her ( understandably very few people have done this so her friends list is pretty small but still ) .

this is her second season at mount aston ski resort , so she’s more familiar with the place and she’s developed a rapport with most of them but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re friends either .

Gwen was born in Jacksonville, FL she had moved to Portland when she was 10 with her parents due to her fathers job transfer.

She grew up there, went to college in Seattle then that is where she met her ex-husband.

When Gwen met Eric she was head over heels, the rose colored glasses were on and there was no looking back. No matter how many red flags popped up- she stayed.

Gwen felt herself starting to get swallowed by her love for Eric, herself becoming mostly just a shell. Her favorite color became his, his favorite food she always made, etc. She didn't know who Gwen was anymore.

Then when she found out about the affair it completely ruined her, her whole life surrounded him- so with that she took her things and fled.

Their anniversary trip was supposed to be in VT so she stayed, fell in love with the town and set up shop.

She's still very close with her parents, but she's trying to rebuild her life here- swearing off love even though she craves reciprocation and the image of a life she thought she'd have, a family, kids, etc.

When you think of Gwen think of fresh cut flowers from a garden, the cherry on top of a perfect sundae, the final placement of a candle on a cake. She takes every little detail into consideration- she likes to know what makes people tick, makes them smile, she goes above and beyond for those she cares about and it shows.

Javier is the oldest of 4 siblings, two boys and two girls. His brother and one of his sisters are only a few years younger than him, but his youngest sister is only 8 years old.

Growing up, his parents worked a lot to provide for them so Javi got used to taking care of his siblings by himself. He woke them up in the mornings, got them ready for school, and would be expected to make dinner for all of them when his parents were still at work. As he got older he often put his life on hold, passing up opportunities that would require him to move away or take up too much of his time, so he could ensure that he would always be there for his siblings. Even now as an adult, he helps his parents raise his youngest sister.

Because of his history, Javi is a very talented cook. He isn’t passionate about it, but it pays his bills for the time being until he can figure out if it’s something he would want to do forever, or if he wants to change career paths.

Javier is often described by his friends as open and friendly, and very easy to talk to. He is very sociable and quick to make friends, although he has a harder time connecting deeper with people outside of his family because he prioritizes them so much.

This is the story of a boy who made his dreams come true, and became a man along the way.

Ali Webster was born on a hot first summer day, when the sun had just decided to begin his night routine. You, readers, will probably never know his mother’s name, as she left the hospital without ever looking back. In fact, Ali’s story starts in January 1988, when he was finally adopted by the Webster family, who named and baptized him. He was brought up by his parents’ strong religious beliefs, to become the most perfect boy. Every sunday, he would go to church with gel in his hair, a cute tie or bow tie, and a smile on his face that greeted every person who paid him a compliment. “What a sweet boy”, they said, “making your daddy proud, aren’t you ?” He was. To Mark and Sophia Webster, Ali was a miracle. He was, with his sister, the proof God wasn’t mad at them for not being able to conceive. They were so proud, and so happy, until Ali proved to be a little more challenging.

He met his two best friends when he was very young. He met Hannah, the neighbor’s daughter, when he was 5, and he met Aindreis, a canadian, scottish latino boy obsessed with space, when he was 9.If you know Ali just a little bit, then you know he’s all about the people he loves. He takes mimics, thinks of small gifts, and words of appreciation. Ali lives to meet people. To this day, Hannah is still his soulmate from another universe, the one he could’ve never loved, and Andy, the one he loved but wasn’t allowed to. Ali was 14 when he knew he was in love with his best friend, and he was 14 and a day old when he realized he could never say anything. Andy finally knew, one afternoon when they were looking at the old atlas or doing god knows what. A cute teenage love story was born out of it, but being a teen must come with delusion, must it not ? Shame caught up with Ali when his mother learned the news, then told his father, and then all of this became the shame of the Webster family. There’s no need to tell all the things Ali heard said about him that day, these words will resin engraved in his brain for the rest of his life, and kept echoing in his ears when he was driven to Heaven’s Hope, a conversion therapy campsite, where he was supposed to stay for a while. Of these little trips to Hope’s Haven, Ali kept memories, and souvenirs. Mostly memories he still dreamt about, now at the age of 35. However the one he cherishes the most is certainly the night he escaped, and decided to never see his parents again. He was 17 when Hannah, who still lived at the other end of the street, had her mother prepare what would be his room, until he moved for University. That was the beginning of his life without Andy, whom he never saw again.

He worked as a waiter, as a dogsitter, as a housekeeper and many other things to be able to afford uni. He smiled, and went to class, and discovered life like he never could in the tiny town called North Berwick. Ali discovered he could be himself, work on his dancing, and learn about how the human body worked. In uni, Ali became thirsty for knowledge and adventure, and never stopped to be. So one day, when he’d gathered enough money to buy an old van he could live in, Ali packed his things, quit his shitty job, and left. That was the last time Ali had a stable life. At least it wouldn’t be the case for a while. In his van, he saw the world. From Nice to Seattle, from Florence to Bangkok, Ali never felt more alive than when he drove his van through roads and seas. He drove and led an adventurous life until he couldn’t anymore, until, finally, he had healed and felt the need to go back home, to Scotland. During that time away, he had become a massage therapist, he had become obsessed with meditation, and was sure that he could step foot on Scottish land again without feeling suffocated. In 2019, Ali was finally done escaping.

He came back to North Berwick when he was offered a job at the hospital. At the same time, Ali hoped to befriend the ghosts of his past. And he did. Sort of. He worked, made friends again, finally saw Hannah after years of only seeing her through shitty video calls. He never thought he’d say this again, but North Berwick made him happy. Andy was there, too. That, may have been the hardest part, at the time. Imagine being reunited with the guy you were in love with, but whom you never talked to again in roughly twenty years. As shameful as he could ever be, teen Ali turned his back on his best friend turned boyfriend, and had proceeded to ignore him. Too hard, too weird. Andy would eventually tell him, that it was good to make amends. Something about the steps to sobriety ? Ali wasn’t on the sobriety path, he never needed to to begin with, but he did need to make amends, and so he did, and so history repeated itself. Aindreis and Ali became friends again, and they fell in love again. That’s the end of the story, xoxo, Sam. Kidding. If only. Couldn’t be that easy tho, right ? One thing Ali didn’t learn during his trips, was how to properly communicate his feelings. It took time, for these two to understand that they were meant to be together, and when they finally did, tragedy hit. Well, a storm hit. Just under a year before, Ali had opened a small wellness center. Things were going great, although business had been slow to start. Anyway, the boss was confident things would work out. Although when a storm destroyed a lot of North Berwick’s city center, Ali being almost drowned in the process, the Willow, as it was called, didn’t survive. Not being able to go to work because of mental health issues, Ali closed down his cherished creation, and wanted one thing, and one thing only : leave again, to try and forget again, to try and live again. There was Andy now tho, wasn’t it ? So, once again, Ali went back, and never left. This time, I swear, these two stayed together. And that leads us to january, when Aindreis told Ali he was offered the direction of a communication agency in East Haven. You guessed it, Ali said yes, quit the job he’d taken to pay the bills, and voilà ! They were both finally here mid march of 2023. Beautiful story, right ? Well, to be continued.

-Josephine was born in East Haven on July 17th, 1987.

-Her dad is a mechanic, and her mom was a university professor, who left when Jo was young. Since then, her dad has been pretty much checked out, apart from the moments when Jo got interested in cars and he taught her what he could. She started small jobs as soon as she could, some of them being summer jobs at the car repair shop her dad worked at.

-Her dad got remarried when she was 13 and had a kid a year later, which made Jo take even more of a backseat. At least, it gave her freedom.

-With the money she’d been saving for a long time, she bought an old van, repaired it and left when she was 18. She never cared much for studies and had no real career plans so she spend the next 10 years or so travelling the US, only coming back to East Haven on rare occasions.

Amerie was born in Kismet Harbor, Oregon to loving parents who always put their children before themselves, as well as their marriage. Growing up, Amerie knew exactly what love looked like based off of how her parents had raised her, which is why their divorce wasn't something she'd ever have been able to predict.

She moved to Boston with her dad. Here she met Haven Sinclair and the two became attached to the hip from the start.

- Marcel was born and raised in a small town outside of Kismet Harbor. However, his family relocated to town when his older brother was about to start high school. He remained focused, and as a result, he eventually managed to get into the NFL. He played for a variety of teams, eventually ending up playing for the Steelers. However, his career here was put on indefinite hold after her ended up in a bar fight, leaving one person injured. Even though Marcel himself was not responsible for the injury, it still reflected badly on his reputation as well as the club. - Therefore, the once successful football player packed up some of his things and decided to move back home to Kismet Harbor to be with his family and try reconnect with old friends. - The adjustment was hard in the beginning for Marcel, seeing football had been such a big part of his life for such a long time he was struggling for a while to adjust. It usually resulted in him ending up going out drinking, which was the last thing he should be doing. It wasn’t until he was asked to coach the high schools football team that felt like he had regained some purpose to his life. - Upon his return to town, he ended up running into Aarin. The two hadn’t spoken much since they ended things, so it was easy to say their relationship felt strained, which felt very weird to Marcel. However, it didn’t last long and the two eventually decided to give their relationship another shot. It felt as if a piece that had been missing felt back into place in his life.

When he in January 2024 ended up in the hospital shortly after letting injured during a severe storm and was paired with Aarin’s father in the room, he asked for his blessing to ask for her hand in marriage. Luckily for him, he got a yes from the man who sadly passed away shortly after.

On Valentines’s day, February 14th 2024, Marcel dropped down onto one knee and proposed to his girlfriend after she won a date with him at the annual charity dating auction. It was slightly spontaneous, and on front of the entire town (naturally spiking a media frenzy). Luckily for him, she said yes, and the two are now living together in his mansion in Emerald Mist while working out the next steps in their lives together as a soon to be married couple.
