Admittedly, it has been a bit since we've written together but I'll always think the world of them, they're a wonderful writer and they truly draw you into their threads and their posts and their aesthetic is just so pretty to look at too. I'll always be an admirer of theirs.

What is like for Vivian being half Chinese and half Canadian? Do she feel more Chinese or more Canadian? Does she know French or do she live on the side that is mostly English?

Thank you for the question! First off, though, I wanna preface this post by saying Vivian is fully Chinese but was raised in Vancouver by immigrant parents, so she's what one might call a 'banana' - someone who is considered yellow on the outside but white on the inside, if only because she has grown accustomed to never living in China.

As a natural result, she ended up adopting cultural customs and habits from Canada, like walking around while drinking coffee from disposable cups (which is a practice Japanese people generally frown upon), tipping servers/other customer service workers excluding retailer workers (which, again, is generally frowned upon in Japan), staying to the right side instead of the left, and referring to anywhere with toilets as 'washrooms' instead of 'bathrooms'. She also has a Western name to better integrate in Canadian society and became so used to introducing herself as 'Vivian' that if someone goes, 'But what is your real name?', she'll just stare at the other person, confused, before realizing they are referring to her Chinese name.

Because Vancouver is predominantly comprised of Asians and is commonly regarded as the most Asian city outside of Asia, however, Vivian thinks of herself as 'Chinese Canadian' even though both her parents are ethnically Chinese. Still, though she mostly speaks English and Japanese, she does converse in Cantonese and Mandarin with her less fluent family members... but because she was born and raised in Vancouver, her values and political leanings are shaped by her own experiences, living there; therefore, she doesn't feel a need to adhere to strict gender roles or conform to traditional femininity, making her different from what one would expect the stereotypical Chinese woman to be like.

In other words, she thinks of herself as both Canadian and Chinese rather than identifying as just one thing. Either way, Vivian never exactly felt out of place due to her Chinese heritage, if only because it was very common for her to encounter fellow Asians in Vancouver. If anything, I'd say it was her autism that made her feel more alienated from others, that for the longest time, @dis--parity's Alex was the only other autistic person she knew.

When it comes to French, though... it was a part of the school curriculum, growing up, but unlike with Japanese, Vivian lacked an interest when it came to truly learning the language, so the only thing that really managed to stick for her was the phrase, 'Bon jour'. The area she lives in, though, is mostly English speaking, so if you speak French to her, chances are high she will be very lost.

Putting aside the generally seen rule of "dni if you're ___phobic" it's a very quick way for me to disregard a blog or put it under some extra scrutiny. Part of life and social media is curating your own experience and taking your own steps to protect yourself from things you believe are going to make you upset.

There are plenty of tools out there to 'protect you' from people you don't care for with one reason or another. Blocking. Blacklisting. Etc. Putting DNI for people in your rules to me translates you want to control people around you, and make them kowtow to your demands. I will get the vibe that you're a particularly prickly person yourself regardless of what the other person you called out did.

There's just better ways of going about it outside of calling extra attention to yourself!

Fortunately I've not seen myself on any DNI lists but I have seen people I interact with on them and, yeah, when that happens I turn off that page pretty damn fast.

Another DNI I still see now and then is fandoms. And I'm less offended or turned away by that? It's perfectly reasonable to give warning to people who write certain muses that they're not going to find mutual appreciation on a blog. It's sad, since I think portrayals can always beat out bad source material, but, understandable.

For Itachi, what made him join the yakuza? Was he was born or adopted into the family ( I couldn’t find any info on the muse when click the links)? What are some morals that he stand by?

i realized i never updated itachi's bio, it's been a rough year for me, sorry. that being said, itachi's original canon is non-existent for me, so instead his canon, what i did was, expand on it in a different way.

so when it comes to the uchiha, they are descendant of gods, namely susano'o, amateratsu and tsukiyomi. and though they could've taken the form of dragons, the form they take on is that of panthers. each in their own right dangerous, and fiercely independant and proud. they are a nomadic clan, and they have a habit of moving around until they settle down between convenient trade routes. as of currently, they have been situated for a while. itachi had falling out with his father and ended up branching out on his own, which lead him to being on his own.

so let's skip to 3 years before the present, where itachi's particular skill set as a predator lead him to being an assassin. and honestly, it was a wild ride for him. enter, the kimon family, he started working with them after befriending kenta, his now immortal brethen, then he meet fushimi, the head of the kimon group. it was purely sexual at first, just straight lust while being beneath fushimi's protection, or rather, itachi found himself attached to all of the kimon group and he protected them, even as they watched over him.

yakuza and such wasn't something itachi had intended to get involved in, but he just knew that the kimon group reminded him a lot of a family and it's the reason he got attached so quickly, so it didn't really matter about the yakuza part.

okay i'm rambling, but fushimi and itachi eventually ended up falling in love with one another and he was married into the yakuza. three years strong now. and honestly, if he could, knowing what he knows now ? he'd do it again if it meant gaining the kimon group as part of his family, and fushimi as his family.

oof morals, loyalty and family before everything. it's what he's always the way he's lived, and even more so now because he's found that in a world like the one he's married into, he wants everyone to know that he does no hesitate to protect his family and if loyalty is thrown down the drain, it won't be pretty. now though, they have legitimate businesses so no one can tell them anything or come knocking for stupid reasons.

Last time Kuroshi and I spoke was... I think when we were in that server together a few years back and the few times we've sent asks to one another or left replies on posts. Even so, we keep following one another with each new or remade blog, and I dunno if they read my threads, though I've certainly read and enjoy reading theirs. Great muses, great world-building with their OCs, great writing- they're just great all around. They always seem pretty nice too from what I remember. Again, that's based on conversations from three-ish years ago.

Wish I had more to say beyond "Hey, let's do some stuff at some point in the near future", but I've got nothing.
