Heyyyy! How did you enjoy the finale for the rookie?
Will you be writing chenford over the hiatus? I've been re-reading Chemistry?
Hi and sorry for the late reply!! I hoped I would get down to watching the finale before answering this, but alas I haven't caught up with The Rookie yet and I didn't want you to think I am ignoring you!
Currently I have slipped away from my chenford shipping mindset due to finding a new obsession, so I have put writing for them aside for the moment, but I will definitely return to them over the summer! And asdgh I can't believe you reread Chemistry, I don't know what to say except a sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart!! It honestly humbles me how much people have embraced that little story of mine, it motivates me to write even more :')💜💜💜

Oh buddy, you are going to regret saying I could send this title ask anytime asjdjfksbdjd, "hold me tight or don't"
babe i assure you I’m absolutely into ur title asks especially bc they’re always some great song lyrics and that is Extremely On Brand for a title/fic from me
title: hold me tight or don’t
synopsis: Kagami wasn’t Kuroko’s first heartbreak, but he was definitely the worst. They were young, dumb and carefree in high school, and the future seemed so distant, so out of reach still - at least for Kuroko. In hindsight, he could swear that Kagami sometimes seemed like he knew it would end like this, with a hasty goodbye at the airport, one last kiss and then years of radio silence.
Four years with the Lakers would change a person, except that Kagami’s still the same goofy boy that Kuroko grew to love and happened to somewhat fall for. Because of course he came back, unprompted and unannounced, standing at his front door. At their front door, because Kagami wasn’t Kuroko’s first heartbreak, but he was the one that got away, and Kuroko just can’t stay away from those who hurt him.

Asdgh i've never seen evangelion but im curious what it'll be like Would you rec sub or dub?
It’s a weird draw, in my eyes.
I prefer dubs, because it’s just a lot easier for me to watch. Though I don’t like what Netflix did with the voice direction and dialogue, if you are like me, the new Netflix dub should work. It is still competent, does it’s job, and it’s right there. Some lines may come off as a tad clunky, because it’s a more literal translation from the Japanese.
If you don’t mind subs, definitely do the Japanese version. The performances are top notch across the board!
The downside is, since it’s Netflix, they removed a pretty famous soundtrack piece from the end credits. A lot of viewers (including myself) consider it a part of the experience.
Then there’s the ADV dub, which is what I have a fondness for. It can be real goofy in parts, but there is a very strong sense of character and passion throughout. There are dialogue changes that flow so much better than a literal translation, and some of those changes became iconic lines. It’s a little harder to access. There are dvds available (the platinum collection has director’s cut versions of certain episodes) and you can find them on any of those “watch anime” websites. You can probably find the Japanese versions too if you want the end credits song intact.
A few tips when watching:
Watch the whole thing! All 26 episodes! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
Never skip the opening! Or you can, do what you want. But give it a listen, because it rocks.
I do not recommend binging it. It is... very draining.
There are two movies that come after: Death & Rebirth, and End of Evangelion. Death & Rebirth is basically a film-length recap, so it’s not necessary. End of Evangelion is a sequel to the series. That is also on Netflix and other sites, if you want the ADV.
There is a series of reboot movies. You can tell them apart because of have a decimal in the titles (Evangelion 1.1, Evangelion 2.2, etc.) They start out like the show, only with a few changes, and then shit just flies off the rails. If you are interested, you should check them out.
Last but not least, be warned, this show deals with a lot of harsh themes: Parental neglect and abuse, suicidal depression, PTSD, puberty and sexual maturity. There is also a good deal of nudity (however, not gratuitous) and gore. End of Evangelion only ups the scale.
Sorry this is long, but there you have it. Enjoy!
