#even notably greedy food hog count dracula is like...
Text
Anyway Jonathan did not actually sleep through the night unmolested and I will die on this hill. Like what else are we supposed to infer from "Tonight is mine" and Dracula being notably gorged on blood in the day when Jonathan finds him. It's Jonathan's blood, I know it is why would Dracula keep him for 2 fucking months and keep him away from the vampire ladies for that long only to leave without biting him? Dracula thought to himself I should eat a big breakfast before traveling who knows when I'll get the opportunity again, and hey I'm not going to be able to eat this guy in one sitting so maybe I'll give him to my roommates so they'll stop whining. Mostly I don't care so much about authorial intent especially in this novel but Stoker wanted us to draw this conclusion he must have or else why say "Tonight is mine" and why have him be blood gorged without writing in another victim he might have gotten the blood from.
