I don’t think I really care for the reset ending
I feel like it really undermines the last conversation between lain and eiri duringe the dumb akira rip off fight
and then it just sort meanders around for a bit and says none of the ideas the show raised for its entire duration were ever workable due to inadequate storage, as if that’s somehow a problem that humanity would never be able to address
maybe the shows values are too opposite mine, so its attempts at criticism fell flat at me, because it all felt like it just tried to very hurriedly go “as if!” to the concepts it dealt with throughout the show without really offering reasonable ideas for why they were bad or impossible
I was really enjoying it up until the end
maybe the playstation game will be a better ending to me

Name: Keith Hall Age: 33 Sexuality: Heterosexual Gender: Male Portrayed By: Max Irons Availability: Closed
“I dunno if things will ever be the same ‘round here to be honest.”
→ Background
Keith is a guy who likes to put up a really strong front and there’s probably no one in the world except perhaps his brother who knows how sensitive he really is. He always wanted to be good at something. Through school he tried to become the best at sports but as much as Keith tried he was just never really sporty, and he only got laughed at for trying. In true Keith Hall fashion, he put up that strong front and he would laugh along with them, playing it cool... but he really wasn’t. He was torn up inside every time he failed and was laughed at, at anything he tried really, and it wasn’t easy for him. Honestly, he wanted to cry but he’d never give anyone the satisfaction. Coming home was never really the best for him most of the time, either. His parents would fight a lot and it was just always loud at home. Keith was the type of guy who liked it quiet but it was like he just never got any peace. He used to end up in his little brothers room, trying to comfort him through the fights but nobody was really there to comfort Keith. He sometimes envied that his brother seemed so much tougher than him. When he wasn’t spending time at home with his brother, he’d usually hang out with friends which he was grateful to have, his closest probably being Aidan Clarke. One day his brother Ronald got thrown out for getting between their parents. He was only fifteen and Keith was appalled. Keith packed up both of their things  and got them a smaller place to live, just the two of them. He took up multiple jobs to keep up the rent on their apartment and buy them enough food. He worked in a call center duringe the day and at night he worked between a couple of local clubs as a bartender. He did all he could and kept up his strong front even though he was exhausted and still pretty hurt inside. He’d had a dream to go off too college but as soon as Ron got thrown out, Keith skipped it. He didn’t feel it was an option and if it happened in the future at any point then it would. If not.... well, as long as his brother was looked after, he was fine.
→ Back to Baberton
Keith has always liked to write. It’s been a big hobby and an escape for him since he was younger. He likes to write crime and romance novels. Big stories people wouldn’t forget. He’s good at it though he’s always been hard on himself just because of the bullying and all his past failures. Ever since Annie Pierce disappeared and all these people started to die in town, Keith has wanted to write a book about it all. A first hand account from an observer who was there from the beginning. He’s got some notes for it scattered through a thick notebook but the whole thing is that big of a mystery that he has to work hard to get it all figured out and sorted into order. Keith works hard to get to information about any murder case, any -A, and any of Annie’s old friends, the Dollhouse... sadly people don’t like to talk about it too much. Keith now works at the local supermarket as a manager. The money is better than it had been but it still only really just covers rent and a lot of the time it’s still something of a struggle. He’s just glad he makes enough money to only need to have the one job now, he’s less tired and got more time to focus on his book. It’s a dream of his to get taken seriously with his books - locals Jenna Woods and Dexter Ford did it, why can’t he? He’s sick of being underestimated and finally wants to be the guy he’s pretended to be since high school. Strong, talented, successful.
→ What’s His Secret?
He has never dated anybody his whole life. He gives vague mentions of girls he’s liked or kissed through his life, but he’s never had anything serious at all. Never asked a girl out, never been told someone has a crush on him. He was always too busy working to really focus on relationships and now he feels left behind and pretty embarrassed about it.
Constantly spies on Annie’s best friends whenever he can spot one of them, and also Annie’s twin sister of course. There’s got to be something there to put in his books. The girls have never talked about their experiences in Jamie Kirk’s so-called “Dollhouse”, where they were held captive... so Keith is kind of eager to be the one to get information out of them. It would be something that not even the media would have and would surely help his book, right? He knows Ingrid Devlin and Jackson Wright were kept there too and he’s also got his eye on them too, although Ingrid is dating his friend Declan Farmer so it might be a bit tricky.
Deep down Keith has always hated and envied that his brother seemed to be so talented in his art stuff. Keith’s always been a bit of a jealous person, which he really doesn’t like in himself and does try to get over but it’s not always so easy to change.
