MARCH 2021 DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of April 7 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.
Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Reminder: February schedule posts are due by the end of March 7 KST. Please do not post schedule posts in the fmdschedule tag.
OVERALL COMPANY
Delays in construction have the opening date of the base Culture Complex delayed by a few months more than anticipated, but the idols are still on schedule to participate in preparing materials. This month, all idols will go into a studio to film short videos that will be used for a AR photobooth where fans can “take pictures” with their favorite idols. The videos they need to film will be pretty simple: sitting on benches and standing in a few different poses in front of a green screen (examples: 1, 2).
Important dates:
March 1-March 31: base Culture Complex museum AR photobooth filming (admin note: muses may encounter idols from other companies while there).
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 1
After five months since her last comeback, another comeback for her has finally been internally confirmed within Dimensions Entertainment. Preparations in the studio and the practice studio don’t kick in quite yet this month, but she’ll be in for a few concept meetings to be told what Dimensions is looking at give her own feedback as a veteran of the company. Before she enters a new era, Dimensions is sending her in to do some wrap-up promotions for “Pporappippam”, including a “Look Me Up” video with 1theK.
Important dates:
March 5: 1theK Look Me Up video filming.
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 2
Most of the month is spent going between the practice room and meetings as he prepares to make his comeback. His new mini-album will be released on the final day of the month, meaning he won’t get the chance to see the results just yet, but, in their meetings, Dimensions makes it clear to him that they’d like this comeback to see more success in at least a few areas compared to his prior comebacks to show his capability for long-term growth as a soloist in their company, putting the pressure on him.
Important dates:
March 31: Release of “When It Rains” & Day mini-album + press showcase, music show promotions continue through April 30.
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 3
She finishes a successful round of single promotions on the third of the month, but she doesn’t get a break just because she’s finished promoting one comeback. Instead, she’s almost immediately ushered into preparing for her next one by having scheduled studio time to record the track list of her next mini-album, which Dimensions has slated for a summer release fitting of its more bright and pop-y sound compared to her debut mini-album.
Important dates:
March 3: End of music show promotions.
GAL.ACTIC
The next step of the comeback preparation process is to learn and rehearse the choreography for the title track. Their sound might be a little different this comeback, but their choreography isn’t too far off from what they’re used to. They’ll also attend fittings, as usual, and the denim brand GetUsed that they’re the face of has them scheduled for a fan sign at a mall mid-month. They’ve also been chosen as the newest faces of cosmetics and skincare brand MISSHA and will have a commercial filming for the brand’s Lipsticks this month. All members will appear in all CF versions, but there will be three focus versions focusing on different feelings the lipstick shades give off, where two members will be assigned to each.
Modern: Main rapper/main dancer/vocal & Leader/main vocal
Lovely: Vocal & maknae/vocal
Elegant: Lead vocal & lead rapper/lead dancer/vocal
Important dates:
March 10: MISSHA CF filming.
March 14: GetUsed fan sign.
March 15: M/V and stage outfit fittings.
ALIEN
Fantasia X releases in the second week of March and then Alien is set for promotions for the rest of the month. In addition to the regular music shows, they’ve been scheduled to make appearances on several YouTube channel popular with idols fans, particularly the international audience. The videos will focus on showing different sides of their live performances, which Dimensions considers to be one of the strongest points of their idols.
Important dates:

March 11: Relay Dance video filming.

March 30: Try-lingual Live video filming.
MARS
MARS will be in Japan from March 10-19 and March 26-29 to attend Hi Touch events with their Japanese fans spanning across the country. If they haven’t already, they should brush up on their Japanese in the days leading up to their trip in order to make the best impression on their Japanese fans that don’t get to see them as often as their Korean ones. Both while they’re in Seoul and in booked conference rooms in the hotels they stay in in Japan, MARS will learn and practice the choreography for their next title track and b-sides "Zigzag”, “Red Thread”, “Eye Contact”, and “Hero”.
Important dates:
March 10: MARS Mini Live & High Touch at Sapporo Factory Atrium in Sapporo, Japan.

7ROPHY
The lead up to their comeback on the fifteenth includes a fan sign in their role as ambassadors for Kaja Beauty, as well as the pre-filming of two dance videos that will be released in the days following their comeback. They’ll film another performance video for Studio Choom a few days after making their comeback. The rest of promotions are music show performances and radio show guestings for this month. “Oh My God” sees a reception similar to what Dimensions had wanted, finding a success more similar to “Lion” than the other songs they released last year.
Important dates:
March 7: Kaja Beauty fan sign.
March 13: Special Dance Practice video filming.
March 14: 1theK Suit Dance video filming.
March 15: Release of “Oh My God” & I Trust mini-album + press showcase, music show promotions continue through April 15.
March 21: Studio Choom Be Original video filming.
March 22: Guesting on KBS Cool FM Kiss The Radio radio show.
March 30: Guesting on SBS Power FM Cultwo Show radio show.
UNITY
Their album is recorded, so March is dedicated to mastering the choreography for their comeback title track. Mid-month, they’ll have fittings for their wardrobe for the next comeback. The planned style for this comeback doesn’t step too far outside of what Unity is known for, but it’s important for the style team to know that the members’ performance won’t be compromised by ill-fitting pieces. At the end of the month, Unity will go in for a long day of shooting photos for the album.
Important dates:
March 15: M/V and stage outfit fittings.
March 30: Photo book and teaser photo shoot.
 ↳ CHAMPION
CHAMPION will be performing a concert at Tokyo Dome next month, so they’ll be coming together when all members are available this month to rehearse their stages to make sure they haven’t forgotten the concert set list.
Important dates:
N/A
LUCID
Most of the month is spent continuing to promote their comeback. The reception has been mixed. While the song received a detail performance more similar to their lighter concepts that have been more popular with the public, diehard fans of one concept over the other don’t seem to be satisfied with the conceptual meeting of the two, each claiming Dimensions should have gone all the way on one concept or the other. After they finish their mostly successful round of promotions, Lucid will fly out to Los Angeles to perform at KCON as Dimensions’ solo representative at the event.
Important dates:
March 3: Guesting on MBC FM4U Dreaming Radio radio show.
March 5: Yoo Heeyeol’s Sketchbook filming (to be aired: March 13).
March 9: Guesting on MBC FM4U Noon Song of Hope radio show.
March 22: End of music show promotions.
March 27: Performance at KCON LA at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, USA (also performing: Decipher, BEE, & Chroma Crystal).
March 28: Performance at KCON LA at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, USA (also performing: Decipher, BEE, & Chroma Crystal).

IsFly Musings and In-Game Scribbles
Overtime Period One
I open the browser and see a heavy shot total.  Isles lead 44-20. And the thing has gone into overtime.  Leading three-two after leading three-one .. is fine.  So many such series end 4-2.  But.  If you let them back in after 3-1 up, especially in hockey ... it's a concern.  A hot risk.
Varlamov is in net for Isles.  Thomas Greiss only logged one game this playoff.  Tho the 34 year-old is capable.  And could start forty a season, likely.  [Ed note: He's started 39, 38 and 49 with Isles in varying years; just 28 this year.  Varlamov is a 6M man to Greiss' 3M.  Varlamov started 39 this year and has 13 playoff starts to Greiss' one.]
I struggle with various streams ... I can't be bothered with my box downstairs.  Not now.  Not this season.  Yes, it still works.  However.  It's complicated.
Six and forty-five.
Isles enter, the Flyers are five in the screen as they steal back and look organized.
The Isles don't have a slick, untouchable, unrankable forward .. no franchise player.  They've come, perhaps not full circle but some kind of time-mango to the team I enjoyed about six seasons ago.  When Jack whatshisname was the coach [Jack Capuano; seven seasons with a 47-win register in 14-15].  And they were a bunch of No Names.  Buoniconti's Bees.  Or whatever.  Am-I-Rite?  [Ed note: You've confused to Miami Dolphin entities; the Buoniconti-era No Name Defence and the Woodley-era Bees]
Four and fifty.
The Isles make comfortable ovals around the tight fingers of the cyborg orange.  Flyers are coached by still-likeable Alain Vigneault (yes, THAT Alain Vigneault) but they're still P for putrid.
Faceoff to Carter Holt's left.  Carter Bailey?  Carter Barter?  These names.  He's good, tho.  And not a bad kid.
The Isles shot lead is now 50-20.  I've missed most of the game so I don't know what kind of 50-20 we're talking about here.  Knowing the Isles, the number probably means early-game verve and then third period Flyer Failings.  The Isles also gear down in the final frame; great goals for-against ratio in the playoff third.
Oh those Fliers.
I'm a bit busted.  And shelved.  And so forth.  But I've been bookish.  Filmish.  Sipe.  Fouts.  Chuck Knox.  Staubach and Dorsett against Bradshaw and Franco.
Also Ali.  Jimmy Young.  The Foreman.  Some other odds and ends including an appearance on Donahue by Norton, Holmes, Frazier and Ali.
Two and thirty.
The Flyers seem to be waiting for Doom.  No.  Not that Doom [Ed note: Legion of Doom].  The 2020 Doom.
Komarov fires off a drop-pass and it hits wild and high. Vigneault's suit is not as sharp as last game's but still sharper than most other coaches'.  I guess Vigneault made an insensitive remark last week that got flash-featured on RDS' Instagram feed.  Remember RDS?  Ah ha ha.  Of course you do. So do I.
Habs are still in my dawghawse.  Fire MB, bro.
Isles penalty.  Moments later, Cizikis is hauled down on a short-handed thrust... cross-check-shoved from behind by Flyer d-man Sanheim at the circle.  We go to fours.
And 1:18 left in the period.
The first OT period of this game (as per my feed).  My, ah, procured feed.
<shrug>
I've paid so much.  And what about all the dropped wifi. Fuck Rogers.
Thirty-eight seconds.
Leddy low behind his end line.  Back and forth.  Now they emerge.  Pelech.  Up for Pageau.  Drives left to right, crosses the crease but the puck dribbles off.
And then the siren.
First Intermission (OT) Isles 4, Fliers 4
Do I really need to hear Vegas pronounced "VEGG-USS"?  No, I don't.  It's VAY GUSS.  Ok?
Vancouver is down 3-2 in that "series" and if anyone SHOULD tie up a series after being down 3-1 (which the Canucks WERE) it's Vancouver.  Ok?
I'm going to end each paragraph with "ok?" for now.  Ok?
Ok.  The feed fades to commercial imagery as I face a commercial break.  Ok?
I've also been watching Derek Carr games prior to the Gruden hire.  And just generally catching up on missed NFL footage.  I missed 2004-2018 as you may or may not recall.  Ok?
Hm.  I forgot about ALT-F4 but just instinctively used it to down some unwanted sprung pages from yet another feed. These feeds are reliable, yes.  I haven't decided how I want to view games at home.  Over the past six years (essentially the length of my musings absence; with the odd short exception) I've kept watching .. more each season (minus Montreal) but almost always in public.  And often with a beer involved.  Different from the coffee period.  Tonight is coffee, of course.  But you wouldn't know why it's "of course".  You THINK you know.  But you DON'T KNOW.  And you NEVER WILL.  JK.   Ok? Overtime Second Period Isles 4, Fliers 4
We resume.  A quick shot of Alain.  His usual expression for "situation" situations.  Isles have a brief advantage and they control.  Anders Lee.  Loses it on the hash.
Fliers' number eighteen escapes [Ed note: Tyler Pitlick RW].  Wrister.  Free, a defender just out of the picture.  Varlamov extends his glove across his left post and nabs it.  Announcer says it was easy.  But I felt some quease.
Prior to the regular season, I went on record (somewhere) to say Isles would win the Cup.  My pool picks were according(ly).  Ok?
Fuck boomers, bro.
And many of my Gen X compatriots. They've forgotten what it was like to get followed around the 7-11.  Or Blockbuster.  Rogers Video.  Etc.
And now we have Gen Z.  Yes!  As cool as millenials.  But different style.
The penalty elapsed.  Back to fives.  Regular season OT means four-on-four. But, NHL conservatism (what remains of it) requires fives in the playoffs.  Heaven forbid that skill should settle a contest (over brawn, sistas and bruthas, over brawn).
Flyers swarm.  They close.  Varlamov is a vacuum man, lost papers, lost trinkets ... the tools twinkle and he closes the pad.  Boy does it look like a puck went in on the rear-net replay.  Nope.  That was a stick blade.  Then the helicopter view above the crease shows Varlamov's boot curvetouch the puck out.  And Pelech drops, face to boot and helps elbow the puck into exile. Clutching Varly's pad, a dainty shoeman showman.
No goal.
And that hectic moment is forgotten.  Neutral zone calm. But the Flyers accelerate.  They dare.  It's daring because any uptick from Philly results in Isle commitment.  Isles ARE the better team.  And the Flyers best hope is a languid opponent.  I wish I'd seen the first three periods.  Maybe tomorrow.  (There's a song about that)
Fourteen and fourteen left.
Oh.  And it's Carter Hart.  He's about twenty.  It's his second or so full season.  Image search shows a possibly likeable young fella.
Shots are 52-28, Isles.
Wrap.  Whoah.  Flyers Are able to ... take advantage of fatigue.  Isles emerge. Eberle, he of Oil fame, winds and fires.  We hear a ting but not a post-ting. Eberle's wild shots are part of his charm.  Right?
Ok?
Flyers settle in for another five-on-five unwanted visit in Islander ice.
Nelson carries it out.  Flushed out after a shot.  Isles re-enter.  Uncle Leo.  Yes, he's an Isle now.
So.  When we're talking about these blue-name no name Island Aislers ... lotta functional no-mistake hockey merchants ... forward names include Anders Lee, Mathew Barzal, Jordan Eberle (that's your tabbed first forward line).  Anthony Beauvillier, Brock Nelson, Josh Bailey, Derrick Brassard, Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Uncle Leo.  I guess <sigh> he's not as annoying as before.  But.
Nine and twenty-five.
Isles start to press.  Pageeau line.  He's the centre.  Brassard and Leo.  First pairing on the blue; Adam Pelech and Ryan Pulock.
They're pushed back and then emerge quietly.  Sneakily.  Flyers are more concerned with maintaining their starfish five formation then just childishly lunging for the puck.  They're taking away any slot passes and happy to let Isles ping from the outside.  Seems effective.
Ok.  So Hart.  He's 21.  He started thirty last year and 40 this season.  Most teams completed 62 games before the season was postponed.  Yes.  Covid-19. If you're reading this in 2030.
He was 0.917 last year and 0.914 this season.  The bulk of starters will rank between 0.910 and 0.920.  I would suggest that increments of 0.35 are significant.  It's a team stat, too, of course.  And must be superimposed with the usual criteria; shot quality and contestation, opponent formations, opponent quality ... etc, etc, blah blah blah.  Ok?
Your friend Carter is from Sherwood Park, Alberta (just outside Edmonton).
Six and forty.
Flyers beat Montreal last round in what was described by some as a tight and tough series ("some" being certain interviewed Flyers).
Their captain is Claude Giroux.  Yes.  He's a captain now.  And that should tell you about the P for putrid.  Putridity varies from spot to spot in the rink, of course.  In the building(s).  But yes.  It's still the Fliers you love.  Ah ha ha.
Brian Elliott, that paragon of goaltending arrogance (not alone in the league) started 27 Flier games.  His save percentage was 0.899.   Yes.  You can laugh out loud.
Fliers score.  The puck ekes through the pads.
There will be a game seven.
Hm.
Cuthbert cites a Mayfield broken stick as the pumpkin break.  He was shooting from their blue.  Stick broke (these dumb modern sticks .. I mean how many years have they had to get them right).  Typical Flier goal.
Just shooooooot.  Shooooooooot.  We gotta get more rubber on net.
Some tyrannies counted bullets.

APRIL 2019 GOLD STAR MEDIA SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of April 30 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.
Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Overall Company
CEO Bang Sunyoung has recently collaborated with a trendy, up and coming fashion brand to release a line of men’s and women’s accessories and shoes with her name attached and all Gold Star artists have been tapped to help model the line in two different groupings this month for the brand’s summer look book. The idols will do group shots (if they’re in a group), individual shots, and some PD-chosen mixed groupings as well.
Important dates
April 7: Accessories line lookbook photo shoot (Gold Star Soloist 1, Gold Star Soloist 3, Aria, Impulse, Femme Fatale)
April 19: Shoe line lookbook photo shoot (Gold Star Soloist 2, Silhouette, Origin, Element, Fuse)
Gold Star Soloist 1
To tide fans over until the next comeback, Gold Star has decided she will be releasing a fun and bright summer-themed photo book, which she’ll be traveling to Jeju at the end of the month to model for, with pictures taken by a popular photographer.
Important dates:
April 20-25: Photobook photo shoots in Jeju.
Gold Star Soloist 2
She’ll be flying out to the United States at the beginning of the month to perform in a gig there, but once she returns, it’s time for her to buckle down and focus on the final month of her solo concert preparations. After a lot of talk and seemingly fruitless studio recordings, there’s also word that Gold Star is going to go ahead with giving her a comeback later in the year.
Important dates:
April 6: Performance at concert at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax County, VA, USA.
Gold Star Soloist 3
At the end of the month, he’ll be performing his first domestic solo concerts in four years, so that is the priority on his schedule for the month. The weekend before his concert, Gold Star is sending him out busking for publicity and he’s scheduled to do a couple of radio appearances in the week between for additional promo.
Important dates:
April 20: Hongdae busking.
April 21: Hongdae busking.
April 22: Guesting on COOL FM radio show.
April 25: Guesting on Arirang Radio.
April 27: I COLOR U concert at Blue Square iMarket Hall in Seoul.
April 28: I COLOR U concert at Blue Square iMarket Hall in Seoul.
Silhouette
Following the end of their music show promotions for “I Love You”, Gold Star has booked Silhouette a gig on Running Man as a group, which they’ll be filming amidst the tour preparations for their June Japan tour that the rest of the month will be focused on, with performance rehearsals and promotional photo and video shoots.
Important dates:
April 6: End of music show promotions.
April 9: Running Man filming (to be aired April 28)
Aria
Gold Star is very happy with the performance of their last comeback and are going forward with initial plans to throw Aria into the summer comeback and are also talking about fitting a third comeback into the end of the year to please investors. In the meantime, April is largely a vacation month as congratulations for a job well done for the group other than a performance at the Korea Times Music Festival to cap off the month.
Important dates:
April 27: Performance at Korea Times Music Festival at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
Origin
Though the planned comeback date earlier in the preparation process was for May, Gold Star has pushed the comeback up to the last week of April to best accommodate overseas promotions for the new album. Origin will film their music videos during the first few days of the month and then they’re slated for two concerts at the end of the first week of the month. The group will fly out to the US on April 23rd after pre-recording a handful of comeback stages for Korean shows and will remain there to film promotional appearances content until they finish their comeback stage on Saturday Night Live on the 27th, after which they’ll leave immediately on a private plane to make it back to Korea just barely in time to perform at the SBS Inkigayo Super Concert and pre-record more music show stages before they leave back to the states on the 29th (after their press conference) for the Billboard Music Awards next month.
Important dates:
April 4: Interview and photo shoot for Entertainment Weekly magazine.
April 6: Love Yourself tour concert at Rajamangala International Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
April 7: Love Yourself tour concert at Rajamangala International Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
April 10: Release of pre-release MV for intro “Persona”.

April 27: Appearance as musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
April 28: Performance at SBS Inkigayo Super Concert in Gwangju.
April 29: Map of the Soul: Persona Global Press Conference in Seoul.
Impulse
Following their juniors Fuse and preceding their seniors in Silhouette, Impulse’s Japan tour will start next month, and that keeps them busy with stage rehearsal and other concert preparation this month like fittings and photo shoots. They’ve also been chosen at the new ambassadors for Est Cola in Thailand, so they’ll be flying there to film a CF near the end of the month.
Important dates:
April 20: Est Cola CF filming.
Fuse
Fuse’s Japan tour is this month, and they’ll be in Japan for the latter half of the month, save for a short return to Korea to attend an awards show. Before that, they’ll be scheduled for some form of concert rehearsal and/or Japanese lessons nearly every day. There’s some talk among management regarding a summer comeback to continue their success over the past couple of years during the season, but nothing has been confirmed and A&R are only in the stages of fielding possible songs.
Important dates:
April 21: Redmare tour concert at Marine Messe Fukuoka in Fukuoka, Japan.
April 24: The Fact Music Awards at Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon.
April 26: Redmare tour concert at World Memorial Hall in Kobe, Japan.
April 27: Redmare tour concert at World Memorial Hall in Kobe, Japan.
April 29: Redmare tour concert at Yokohoma in Yokohoma, Japan.
April 30: Redmare tour concert at Yokohoma in Yokohoma, Japan.
Element
With approval from the higher-ups, Element is set for a mid-May comeback and with it, they’ll be promoting a new song for the first time in eight months. Some back and forth within marketing and the company investors ended up with only a single approved for release, but the company is hoping to see good results nonetheless. The members will record the song in the studio this month and will spend long hours learning and perfecting the choreography. Gold Star is going sexier for this comeback than their last one, so more pressure will be put on the members visually. The pattern of VLives they fell into will be broken to focus on comeback preparations, but each member will be asked to film a solo cover video of some sort to upload on YouTube to keep fans engaged. The members are encouraged to lean into a sexy concept for the cover they either choose or are assigned, but it is not required.
Important dates:
April 24: 4lement tour concert at Shibuya Duo Exchange in Tokyo, Japan.
Femme Fatale
Now that filming for their reality show has wrapped, the members will be put into full focus on their summer EP. Gold Star wants their title track to be the hit of the summer and for it to make waves in a way that will justify their first tour and possibly even an American push in earnest in the second half of the year so the members are on a tight leash to maintain their collective it girl images. The members won’t make any scheduled public appearances this month in favor of spending time in the studio recording and learning choreography, but the plan is for this to increase buzz and hype about a potential comeback from them. A repackaged Japanese album will be released at the end of the month, but it won’t feature any new content from the members.
Important dates:
April 24: Release of Japanese repackaged album Re:Femme Fatale.

The five members of LUXE worked hard for their first comeback and proved they were not impacted by their old members' departures. However, as the second week of promotion starts without sight of a first win, Royal quickly starts their second round of plans. As good as their sales were, it could always be better.
On March 4th, exactly a week and a day after LUXE’s first comeback, they’re notified by their manager that there’s been a change of plans to their schedules. The news is delivered during lunch break after their 11AM camera rehearsal, and soon after they’re done, the members return to the Royal building. Once they arrive, Yoo Jaekyung is there to greet them.
“Hello.” She waits for the girls to get themselves comfortable on the practice room sofa before she continues to speak. “Your comeback results have been better than expected after all that drama, but we’d like to capitalize more on it. We’ve been working on this album for long now, after all, and we wouldn’t want it to go to waste. That’s why we’ll be using one of your B-sides as a follow-up song. This means you’ll keep promoting the same album, but with a new title song. Of course, you’ll conclude your ‘Confused’ promotions as planned, and then we’ll jump into the next promotions soon after.”
From this point on, LUXE will promote their current title song while preparing for their next at the same time. With the help of Jaekyung, the members will learn the choreography for ‘Every Night’, one of the B-sides of their mini-album ‘Fantasy’, so that it may be properly promoted on music shows. For this to happen, their updated schedule will look like this:
06:20AM: at broadcasting station: basic first rehearsal on stage; no makeup, casual clothes.
06:45AM: get basic makeup and hair done.
07:45AM: eat breakfast, nap in dressing room/space.
09:00AM: dress rehearsal on stage; stage outfits, makeup on.
09:20AM: return to dressing room/space: rest, eat, nap, practice.
11:00AM: final camera rehearsal on stage; stage outfits, makeup on.
11:15AM: lunch break
12:00PM: return to royal building: practicing for every night
04:00PM: head to salon: get makeup and hair done.
05:00PM: return to broadcast station: preparations to go on stage; outfits, warming up
07:00PM: live broadcast; when not performing, must stay in dressing room/space until the ending stage of the show.
08:00PM: line up in waiting room area to formally greet producers, director, and senior staff.
09:00PM: meeting time with fans who attended the recordings.
10:00PM: return to dressing rooms to clean up, change back into casual clothes.
11:00PM: arrive back at dorms.
On March 11th, their supposed free day, the members of LUXE will actually head towards a special photoshoot and interview. The girls will arrive at an indoor set with only a solid background, but what’s truly important is who’ll be their companions for this shoot. LUXE will promote a dog shelter campaign to help with adoptions, and to do so, each girl will pose with a different dog brought from the partnered shelter. The interview will involve personal questions about pets and dogs, but also about their career. The girls are advised to say they are preparing for a follow-up song since the article will only go out a couple of weeks later along with the finalized photographs.
With their last ‘Confused’ stage being on the 16th, and the girl’s intense hard work, Jaekyung promises to take them out for dinner with her usual serious expression — but only if they get their first win. It should serve as motivation, and having a feast before their music video filming probably wouldn’t be too great of an idea.
To promote their new title song properly, the girls of LUXE will start filming for their ‘Every Night’ music video on the 18th of March, following the schedule seen below. For reference: Cheri will play Solji; Zoe will play Jeonghwa; Ella will play Hyerin; Yena will play Hani; Xayah will play LE.
DAY ZERO — MARCH 17TH
9AM: Wardrobe fittings at the Royal building.
DAY ONE — MARCH 18TH
6AM: Head to salon and get hair and makeup done. Hairstyles: Cheri (1); Zoe (1); Ella (1); Yena (3); Xayah (4)
7AM: Go to fist filming location
8AM: Visit and thank actor Kim Jongsoo on his private room for participating in the MV
8:10AM: Change into outfits
8:30AM: Filming for the final storyline scene ( 2:28-3:38 )
11:30AM: Lunch break
12:30PM: Filming for the set dance scenes ( 0:07; 0:18; 3:42; 3:58 )
2:30PM: Thank actor Kim Jongsoo for his hard work; prepare to leave
2:45PM: Arrive in second location; makeup and hair re-touch
3PM: Filming of beauty shots ( 0:45; 0:47; 0:56; 1:17; 1:25 )
4PM: Recording on the first set for storyline scenes ( 0:00; 0:14; 0:21; 0:41; 0:51; 1:02; 1:39; 2:09; 2:18 )
7:30PM: Thank staff and prepare to leave
9PM: Arrive at dorms; eat, shower, rest.
DAY TWO — MARCH 19TH
8AM: Head to salon and get hair and makeup done. Hairstyles: Cheri (1; 2); Zoe (1); Ella (1); Yena (1); Xayah (1; 2)
9AM: Go to third filming location
10AM: Change into outfits
10:30AM: Filming beauty shots ( 0:25; 2:13 )
11:30AM: Lunch break
12:30PM: Makeup and hair retouch
1PM: Filming dance scenes ( 0:24; 0:26; 0:52; 0:59; 1:08; 1:30; 1:48; 2:05; 2:12; 2:14; 2:25; 2:46; 3:39; 3:55 )
4:30PM: Thank staff and prepare for leaving.
5:30PM: Arrive at dorms; rest.
All throughout the filming process, staff members will be recording the girls backstage. They are free to interact with it however they’d like while the staff may also ask them some questions to help the girls ease up with the camera. These scenes will be later compiled and edited to be uploaded to a sub-channel under Royal named after LUXE with each episode carrying the name of ‘LUXE TV’. These will be inspired by TWICE TV, which you can watch here, and will continue to be recorded throughout their promotion periods or for special events.
The LUXE girls will have the rest of the 19th to rest but are expected to follow their regular training on the next day. The members will go to a photoshoot location on March 21st to get their teaser pictures taken. This will be faster than a photoshoot for their album, which means the rest of their day will be used, once again, for practicing.
On March 24th, the girls will go to their usual hair salon to touch up on colors and length, except for Xayah who will change her hair color to red. She will not be allowed to post on social media or go out with her hair visible, so the first time the public will get to see it will be on their first follow-up stage. The music video will come out on March 28th, and the first stage will be on the 29th for Music Bank.
Before their stage, all of the members of LUXE will take part in a short interview for Music Bank with the member Cheri acting as a special MC (video reference here) along with Dowon from the boy group ME8 (an IC stand-in for Rowoon from SF9). Xayah will prepare a poem using the syllables of ‘LUXE’, and Yena will be in charge of introducing their newest title track, ‘Every Night’. In the end, Cheri, Ella, and Zoe will ask for the audience to look forward to their performance, in order.
The following is the music show promotion schedule for Luxe’s ‘Every Night’ activities:
3/29, 4/05, 4/12: KBS Music Bank

2021 Fantasy QB Sleepers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finding value at the quarterback position during your draft provides a major edge. It’s tough to pass on flashy skill players in the early and middle parts of the draft, but in single-QB leagues, reaching for a quarterback often starves you or a premier wideout or running back. You can find good value on those positions in the later rounds, but it's easier to find a legit sleeper or breakout candidate at QB. Even if you prefer to draft a QB early, dipping down in the rankings for a potential steal late can pay off in the form of a trade once the season starts. The perfect picture of a sleeper quarterback is Justin Herbert last year. In single-QB redraft leagues, he was often undrafted, only to finish as a top-10 option at the position. Speaking of guys going undrafted, if you’re not in a deep league, be sure to keep an eye out for some of the sleepers below during the early part of the season. At least a few will be available on the waiver wire, so be ready to pounce if they have a hot start. This year's list features six players locked in quarterback battles. All have major upside if they run away with their respective jobs.  Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins People were quick to write off Tua after a lackluster rookie season, but remember that he was coming off a serious hip injury suffered during his final year at Alabama. Although his rookie season wasn’t what many hoped, he did show off his ball placement and accuracy skills. The Dolphins went out and got him two receivers that excel in getting open deep, Jaylen Waddle and Will Fuller V. They play more to Tua’s strengths than DeVante Parker or Preston Williams. Tua already has experience hitting Waddle in stride, and they should pick up right where they left off. Mike Gesicki and Hunter Long are more than serviceable options at tight end, too. Put simply, Tua wasn’t set up for success in 2020. In ‘21 he is, and he could easily outperform ADP. Baker Mayfield, Browns Mayfield finished behind the likes of Cam Newton last season at QB17. It’s not that Mayfield doesn’t have weapons or isn’t a promising young passer; he just doesn’t get the volume. He’s in the Ryan Tannehill range of passing attempts. However, there's no shortage of firepower on the Browns’ roster, and Baker has shown capable of making big plays.PlayerProfiler.comranked Baker as the No. 2 quarterback in "money throws" last season (throws requiring "exceptional skill and athleticism" or "throws executed in clutch moments"). That can’t be ignored. With household names like OBJ and Jarvis Landry, the Browns offense always has the potential to explode. Behind an elite offensive line, Baker should sit comfortably in the pocket regularly. Additionally, the Browns offense will be among the league leaders in red-zone attempts, resulting in some easy passing touchdowns. He’s accurate and he’s not afraid to make big throws. Any increase in passing volume could mean a great year out of Mayfield. Daniel Jones, Giants Jones definitely has things going in the right direction. Saquon Barkley is coming back and Kenny Golladay is added into the fold. Whatever your opinion may be on KaDarius Toney, he’ll help the offense move the ball. If Danny Dimes can get the ball in the hands of his playmakers, he could enjoy a fantasy-relevant season, especially if he averages north of 30 rushing yards per game again. At his low price in drafts, he’s a low-risk, high-reward player -- optimal for a backup if you take a QB early. Jameis Winston/Taysom Hill, Saints Winston, with his newfound eyesight, has a ceiling as high as a top-10 QB. Assuming he wins the quarterback battle with Taysom Hill, a Sean Payton offense led by a gunslinger has a nice ring to it. If he limits his turnovers, he could easily see 5,000 yards passing with close to 40 touchdowns in a 17-game season. (Though Michael Thomas'ankle injury clouds the optimism a bit.)Even in his disastrous 30-INT season with the Bucs in 2019, Winston put up a QB3 finish. Of course, Winston could just as easily lose the starting job and Hill could be a top-10 candidate, like he was during his starting run last year, thanks to his rushing floor. Winston would be the higher-ranking, higher-reward player, but Hill would likely be more consistent if he winds up starting. Drew Lock, Broncos Lock, like Winston, is another ‘throw caution to the wind’ gunslinger, but he hasn’t had any past success, even with solid weapons around him. He completed just 57.3 percent of his passes in 2020 and hasn’t shown much promise. But as we know, crazier things have happened in fantasy football. Does Josh Allen turing into an elite passer in 2020 ring a bell? Lock has nowhere close to the rushing upside as Allen, but another year in Pat Shurmer’s offense could turn the tide. Shurmer isn’t a sexy name, but he did lead a 2017 Vikings offense that produced a QB7 season from Kirk Cousins. With the weapons around Lock, he surely has the potential to do something similar. Jimmy Garoppolo/Trey Lance, 49ers The Jimmy G era is coming to an end in San Francisco, but when? In the year the 49ers made it all the way to the Super Bowl, Jimmy G finished at QB14. With even more weapons now, his ceiling is even higher if hewinds up being the full-time starter for the 49ers this year. But that’s okay. According to FantasyPros, Garoppolo is coming off the board at an average draft position (ADP) of QB33. We could see an Alex Smith/Patrick Mahomes situation where Lance sits for a year to be groomed as the future starter. If that’s the case, Jimmy G will absolutely shatter that ADP. On the flipside, Lance has tremendous upside if named the starter early in the season. His rushing upside presents a solid fantasy floor. At NDSU, Lance posted 48 total touchdowns, over 1,100 rushing yards, andjust one interception. That’s not a typo. This suggests he won’t throw himself out of the game very often. He’s coming off the board before Garoppolo, and it’s probably a smart move to draft both of them if you draft either, depending on your league’s format. Justin Fields, Bears Fields could vastly outperform his QB19 ADP. He has the tools to be a stat stuffer, and his low ranking is an indication of the unknown. Mobile rookie quarterbacks have a solid floor, but his success will depend on how long the Bears coaching staff pretends Andy Dalton is worth keeping in there. If Fields wins the job early in the season, he could be the best guy on this list. Read the full article

Bracketology 2020: Looking back at non-conference play
Tumblr media
North Carolina’s Battle 4 Atlantis win over Oregon was one of the rare quality non-conference triumphs for ACC teams not named “Duke.” | Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports
Why does it look like the Big Ten is set to dominate the 2020 NCAA tournament? What’s causing the ACC to struggle nationally? It turns out the answer lies in how the two conferences performed in November and December.
At this point last season, I reviewed non-conference results in a more traditional way — examining surprises and disappointments, helpful wins and disappointing losses. But for 2020, I wanted to try something different, namely examining which conferences set themselves up for Selection Sunday success through their members’ quality non-conference wins — results that helped establish these teams in the higher reaches NET rankings.
Road games take on increased importance in league play, since only home wins against the NET’s top 30 teams qualify for Quadrant 1 status on a team’s selection sheet, and Quad 2 wins are similarly restricted to the top 75. But with away wins over top-75 teams falling under Quad 1 and Quad 2 road wins encompassing teams ranked between 76th and 135th, plenty of quality win opportunities remain for teams in conferences that have teams in these groups. However, for a team to establish itself in the NET’s upper echelon, it needed to virtually run the table during non-conference play or record quality wins during November and December.
Throughout the remainder of the season, I’ll touch on remaining Quad 1 and 2 win opportunities, but for now I’m just setting a baseline for that analysis.
A few words about the NET
Before I wrote any grand pronouncements about the NET, I wanted to look at how the rankings of roughly one year ago (through Jan. 8, 2019) compared to those used on Selection Sunday. This is what stood out when I looked at the top 100 of each:
Conference representations were largely, but not completely, stable. While 16 leagues saw their total membership in the final top 100 either exactly match their January number or fall within one plus or minus, five conferences saw their totals change by two or more teams. The ACC dropped three teams over the final two months of the 2018-19 season, while the American Athletic an WAC each gained a trio of teams — an impressive statement for the latter conference since it had zero top 100 teams in early January.
There was also little variation in the split of top 100 membership between the Power 5+Big East+American group and the 25 mid-major conferences. The power leagues saw their top 100 representation drop by just four teams between January and March, from 73 to 69.
However, both January and Selection Sunday’s top 75s featured the same 54-21 power advantage. While the mid-majors made some late gains in the top 30 (jumping from three teams to five), the number of mids ranked between 76th and 100th rose from six to 10. Teams slotted in that range don’t typically earn at-large bids.
Looking at the NET from Thursday morning (through Jan. 8, 2020), the power conferences boast 73 of the top 100, an increase of one from 2019. However, the top 75 features a more pronounced 58 to 17 major conference advantage.
So, while we don’t have a long track record to look back upon when evaluating the NET, the information we do have makes me feel relatively comfortable about forecasting how it will shake out when March 2020 arrives. With that in mind, let’s take a look at how the power conferences and key mid-majors set themselves up for success or failure over November and December.
Conferences are listed in order of the number of bids projected in Tuesday’s bracket. The NET referenced was published the morning of Jan. 9, 2020, so there may have been changes between then and publication.
Big Ten
Five-tournament (2015–2019) NCAA bid trend: 7–7–7–4–8 NET-ranked teams: 7 (top 30), 5 (31–75), 0 (76–100)
Total number of Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins (average): 31 (2.21 per team) Total number of Quad 1 non-conference wins (average): 11 (0.785 per team) Teams without either a Quad 1 or 2 non-conference win (2): Illinois, Nebraska Teams without a Quad 1 non-conference win only (2): Minnesota, Northwestern
Tumblr media
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports
Michigan’s Battle 4 Atlantis title win over seventh-ranked Gonzaga was the Big Ten’s best non-conference win according to the NET.
Tuesday’s projection featured 10 Big Ten teams. And with 12 conference members ranked in the NET’s top 55 on Thursday morning, there’s a non-zero chance that the 2011 Big East’s record of 11 bids could fall on Selection Sunday evening. In its second season scheduling 20 conference games, the Big Ten continued the improvement of its abbreviated non-league slate that was first evident in 2018-19. Nearly all of the conference’s contenders recorded at least two quality wins during their 11 non-league contests. Those victories provide a strong base for the Big Ten’s overall metrics, which translate into its dominant presence in the NET. That’s a factor likely to benefit the two league members that failed to record either a Quad 1 or 2 win in November and December — Minnesota and Illinois.
Three Big Ten teams managed to record four Quad 1/2 victories before league play kicked into full gear, and all of them are surprising names — Indiana, Iowa and Penn State. However, only Ohio State recorded more than one Quad 1 win (over Villanova in the Gavitt Games and Kentucky in Las Vegas).
Big East
Five-tournament NCAA bid trend: 6–5–7–6–4 NET-ranked teams: 3 (top 30), 6 (31–75), 1 (76–100)
Total number of Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins (average): 29 (2.9 per team) Total number of Quad 1 non-conference wins (average): 13 (1.3 per team) Teams without either a Quad 1 or 2 non-conference win (1): Providence Teams without a Quad 1 non-conference win only (1): Marquette
Tumblr media
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports
Villanova’s thrilling 56-55 home win over Kansas was the best of the 13 Quad 1 victories Big East teams recorded during November and December.
In 2019, the Big East secured just four bids — a number that equalled its lowest total since the split with the American Athletic. However, 2014’s quartet included a two and three seed, while last year’s group was led by a five and six. That decline was down to a disappointing non-conference performance that saw the Big East finish just one game above .500 in contests against its power rivals. However, an early season resurgence sees the Big East back in the six bid range in early January.
While the conference as a whole recorded just 24 power victories total in November and December 2018, the Big East managed to pick up nearly three Quad 1 and 2 victories per member in 2019. Sure, that’s not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, but even teams that struggled last fall, like Georgetown and DePaul, were able to grab quality wins this year. And with results like that, it’s no surprise that the 2020 Big East has 90 percent of its membership in the NET top 75 — compared to just 60 percent a year ago. And with Providence, the lone team outside of the top 75 off to a 3-0 start in conference play, it might not be long until all 10 teams make it.
Butler’s six non-conference Quad 1 and 2 wins lead the country, with every Big East team except for Providence owning at least two.
Pac-12
Five-tournament NCAA bid trend: 4–7–4–3–3 NET-ranked teams: 4 (top 30), 5 (31–75), 0 (76–100)
Total number of Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins (average): 24 (2 per team) Total number of Quad 1 non-conference wins (average): 9 (0.75 per team) Teams without either a Quad 1 or 2 non-conference win (4): California, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington State Teams without a Quad 1 non-conference win only (2): Arizona, Arizona State
Tumblr media
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports
Mike Hopkins’ Washington Huskies recorded the Pac-12’s best non-conference win when they defeated Baylor 67-64 in Anchorage, Alaska on November 8th.
The 2019 Pac-12 would have loved to experience the Big East’s one-year dip in form. Over the past five NCAA tournaments, the conference has earned either three or four bids, save 2016’s seven-bid haul. And last season’s three bids felt like a gift, particularly as Oregon needed to win the Pac-12 tournament to get in and Arizona State ended up in the First Four. But the conference has six teams in Tuesday’s projection and nine squads in the current NET top 75 with three of those in the top 30. One year ago, the Pac-12 had no top-30 squads and just three in the top 75.
However, the picture isn’t totally rosy for the Conference of Champions. For starters, while it averaged exactly two Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins per team, four teams accounted for 16 of those 24 victories. Only Oregon and USC managed two Quad 1 wins, while a pair of preseason contenders, Arizona and Arizona State managed none. Making matters worse, three Pac-12 teams currently rank outside of the NET top 120. With the conference’s unbalanced 18-game schedule, contenders will struggle a bit to rack up the Quad 1 and 2 win totals in league play that their rivals in the Big 12, Big East and Big Ten will accumulate between now and March 15.
SEC
Five-tournament NCAA bid trend: 5–3–5–8–7 NET-ranked teams: 4 (top 30), 5 (31–75), 2 (76–100)
Total number of Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins (average): 28 (2 per team) Total number of Quad 1 non-conference wins (average): 12 (0.86 per team) Teams without either a Quad 1 or 2 non-conference win (1): Vanderbilt Teams without a Quad 1 non-conference win only (4): Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri, Texas A&M
Tumblr media
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports
The SEC’s best non-conference win (so far) came on the season’s first evening, when Kentucky topped Michigan State in the Champions Classic.
The SEC looks set to take a slight step back from its recent resurgence, as its current projected bid total of six is one fewer than 2019’s seven and two below 2018’s eight. And while the conference has four top-30 teams and nine top-75 teams for the second January running, you can’t help but feel like that’s a slight disappointment. Maybe it’s because the preseason favorites, Florida and Kentucky , were rather inconsistent in November and December. Or perhaps it’s the fact the league’s top team in the NET, sixth-ranked Auburn can count just one Quad 1 win among their five Quad 1 and 2 non-conference triumphs. Or it could also be the fact that the five teams outside of the top 75 — including Ole Miss, Mississippi State and South Carolina teams that were expected to be better — could create quality win issues for the rest of the league.
However, the majority of the SEC’s contenders will have one last chance at recording a statement non-league win on Jan. 25 in the Big 12 Challenge. Of the 10 teams participating, only Mississippi State and Texas A&M are currently ranked outside of the top 75. Plus, the strongest of the four teams left out, Georgia, picked up a road win over Memphis in the quartet’s mini-challenge with the American Athletic Conference.
Big 12
Five-tournament NCAA bid trend: 7–7–6–7–6 NET-ranked teams: 3 (top 30), 4 (31–75), 3 (76–100)
Total number of Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins (average): 25 (2.5 per team) Total number of Quad 1 non-conference wins (average): 16 (1.6 per team) Teams without either a Quad 1 or 2 non-conference win (2): Kansas State, TCU
Tumblr media
Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports
Baylor’s 53-52 Big East Battle home win over Butler stands as the Big 12’s top non-conference result of November and December.
The Big 12 will enter their series with the SEC with an advantage in quality wins, thanks to a strong November and December performance that saw six teams record a minimum of two Quad 1 and 2 non-conference victories. And the five Quad 1 and 2 wins Kansas and West Virginia each recorded are fewer than Butler’s total six, the Jayhawks and Mountaineers both own at least one more Quad 1 win than the Bulldogs’ pair — KU has four and West Virginia three. Then there’s Baylor, whose trio of quality non-conference wins are all of the Quad 1 variety.
However, the Big 12 might not be able to match its 2018-19 Quad 1 and 2 win totals in 2020. That’s because just 70 percent of its membership ranks in the current NET top 75, compared to 90 percent last January. While Texas started the season with a 10-2 mark, only the Longhorns’ victory over Purdue could be considered a quality one. Meanwhile, both Iowa State and Kansas State entered Big 12 play at 7-5. Barring rapid improvement by the trio, their struggles are likely to keep dragging the conference’s March fortunes down.
ACC
Five-tournament NCAA bid trend: 6–7–9–9–7 Current NET-ranked teams: 3 (top 30), 4 (31–75), 6 (76–100)
Total number of Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins (average): 24 (1.6 per team) Total number of Quad 1 non-conference wins (average): 11 (0.733 per team) Teams without either a Quad 1 or 2 non-conference win (3): Clemson, Virginia, Wake Forest Teams without a Quad 1 non-conference win only (4): Boston College, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Syracuse
Tumblr media
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports
Duke’s November 5th Champions Classic win over Kansas stands as the ACC’s first and best non-conference triumph of the 2019-20 season.
The ACC’s first 20-game conference schedule has led to some struggles. For starters, thanks to the decision to play a league game on Opening Night to help push the new ACC Network, nearly half of the conference entered the second game of their season both 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the league. Duke, exempt from this folly due to its participation in the Champions Classic, managed to open the season with a great win over Kansas. And that win in New York would be the peak of the ACC’s non-conference performance
Making matters considerably worse, the ACC didn’t copy the Big Ten’s tactic of complementing an expanded conference schedule with beefed up non-league slates. As a result, the ACC team recorded fewer Quad 1 and 2 non-league wins than the other power conferences. Even against those weaker schedules, the majority of the league stumbled through November and December. For example, injury-plagued North Carolina couldn’t build upon a 2-1 Battle 4 Atlantis performance, finishing 7-4 against its non-league slate. And that might have done irreparable damage to the conference’s NET rankings. While 13 of the ACC’s 15 teams ranked in the NET top 100 in both January 2019 and 2020, this year’s top 30 features just three top-30 teams compared to seven one year ago. In 2019, just four ACC teams ranked between 76th and 100th, six do today.
With road wins providing the bulk of Quad 1 opportunities remaining, the ACC teams sitting outside of the top three of Duke, Florida State and Louisville will be hard pressed to catch up. The lone exception might be 2019’s National Champion, Virginia, as they have three home Quad 1 chances left on their schedule.
American Athletic
Five-tournament NCAA bid trend: 2–4–2–3–4 Current NET-ranked teams: 2 (top 30), 3 (31–75), 2 (76–100)
Total number of Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins (average): 17 (1.42 per team) Total number of Quad 1 non-conference wins (average): 6 (0.5 per team) Teams without either a Quad 1 or 2 non-conference win (1): East Carolina Teams without a Quad 1 non-conference win only (6): Cincinnati, SMU, South Florida, Tulsa, UCF, UConn
The American’s top Quad 1 non-conference win was a holiday gift for the conference.

As usual, the American Athletic continues to occupy an odd purgatory between the mid-major ranks and true power conference status in basketball. While programs like Wichita State, Memphis and Houston found themselves in Tuesday’s projection, three of the conference’s historic basketball powers, Cincinnati, UConn and Temple, didn’t help the American much during non-conference play, while the remainder of the conference isn’t all that close to the field of 68. Granted, Tulane is showing progress in Ron Hunter’s first season and South Florida’s forecast breakout campaign was over before it started thanks to Alexis Yetna’s season-ending knee injury. And that combination means the American’s overall results haven’t been good. While conference members averaged nearly one-and-a-half quality non-league wins, only six of those 17 victories fall under Quad 1, with Memphis earning two of those.
With an unbalanced schedule and just five teams in the NET top 75, the American Athletic is going to struggle to match its four bid total of a season ago. 2018’s total of three is a far more likely scenario at this point.
Mid-Majors
Five-tournament NCAA at-large bid trend: 6–3–3–3–4 Current NET-ranked teams: 4 (top 30), 13 (31–75), 11 (76–100)
Top 75 mid-majors either without a Quad 1 or 2 non-conference win (3): Akron, Furman, Santa Clara Top 75 mid-majors without a Quad 1 non-conference win only (4): Duquesne, Louisiana Tech, Saint Louis, Yale
The best mid-major non-conference win of the season was the result of the highlight of the season so far.

 SFA Basketball (@SFA_MBB) November 27, 2019
There was a time this fall when it looked like mid-majordom might meet or exceed 2015’s combined at-large bid total of six — and remember that happened when Wichita State was still in the Missouri Valley. There was hope for as many as six Atlantic 10 bids, up to three for the Mountain West — and even an outside shot at two for the Ivy. But reality and inconsistency struck. Former top-75 fixtures like the New Mexico, Utah State and even Cameron Indoor Stadium-conquering Stephen F. Austin have tumbled. The Lumberjacks’ case is particularly instructive for how devastating conference play can be for quality mid-majors. Kyle Keller’s squad ranked 43rd in the NET before Wednesday’s home game against then-318th-ranked Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. SFA’s 73-72 loss dropped them 36 places in the NET, down to 79th. That one-point loss might have cost the Lumberjacks both their at-large hopes and maybe a seed line should they win the Southland’s auto bid.
Defeats like that make it more likely the mid-majors will again struggle to collectively earn more than four at-larges in 2020. Sure, Gonzaga looks as good as usual and surprising Dayton and San Diego State have spent time in the NET top 10 alongside the Bulldogs, but none of their respective conference rivals have yet been able to consistently establish themselves in the top 30.
Still, VCU, BYU and Saint Mary’s have come close to cracking that group. And their quality is why the Atlantic 10 and West Coast conferences look like the best source for mid-major at-larges this March. Otherwise, it might take Championship Fortnight losses by San Diego State or ASUN favorite Liberty to improve the mid-majors’ fortunes. And with the bubble looking as confounding as ever, that may not be a bad thing for neutrals.
There’s one interesting thing about the 34 Quad 1 and 2 non-conference wins recorded by the 18 mid-majors most likely to challenge for an at-large — just one of those victories, VCU’s over LSU, came at home. That fact could serve as a major boost for these teams during the Selection Committee’s deliberations.
I’ll be back with a full bracket projection on Tuesday.

Audi Q8 review – a master of comfort and refinement
For  Comfortable, luxurious and completely intuitive to drive despite its size Against  Neither thrilling or exciting, may not be flamboyant enough for some Audi’s first coupe SUV isn’t the last word in driving thrills, but it serves up an easy to live with and satisfying package The Audi Q8 seems late to the big, coupe SUV party. BMW has been selling its swoopy-roofed 4x4, the X6, for ten years and Mercedes  has been touting around the GLE Coupe for a couple of years, too. Even Lamborghini, hardly a company known for SUVs, has beaten Audi to the festivities with its Urus. However, if the long wait is what has created the Q8’s totally natural and effortless driving characteristics and impressive levels of refinement, then it was worth it. So, you aren’t going to find colossal levels of steering feel, an infinitely adjustable balance or deep levels of interaction within the Audi Q8, but then you wouldn’t really expect to. > Click here for our review of the new Porsche Cayenne Instead, the Audi Q8 feels like a well-developed, cohesive and dependable car. The balance between comfort and control is well judged, performance is ample, the cabin is a wonderful place to spend time and the technology enhances the experience rather than distracts you from driving. The only contentious aspects of the Q8 are its more exuberant styling and whether there’s any real advantage to its size and bulk over an A6 Avant. Image 2 of 22 Image 2 of 22 Audi Q8 in detail Performance and 0-60 time – Performance and speed is not the Q8’s forte, but it’s more impressive than it needs to be Engine and gearbox  – The Q8 currently only comes with a 3-litre V6 diesel engine that’s helped by a mild hybrid system Ride and handling – The Q8 is not to be confused with a performance car, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some enjoyment to be had MPG and running costs – Official MPG figures are impressive but you’ll need to put aside a lot to replace the big tyres Interior and tech  – The Q8’s interior is packed with tech and gadgets, but it still looks modern and sleek Design – It might seem extravagant-looking in pictures, but the Q8 blends in with modern cars far better than you might expect Prices, specs and rivals Rather than starting with SE or Sport trim levels, like most of the Audi range, the Q8 comes straight in in S-line, usually a top spec trim. The S-line cars start at £65,040 and come with 21-inch wheels, adaptive dampers and air suspension, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, a mild hybrid system and, as you’d expect, four-wheel drive. There is a higher-specification Q8, called the Vorsprung – this new trim line, that debuted on the SQ7 in the UK, will be Audi’s top-level trim on its premium models. As standard, the Q8 Vorsprung comes with even bigger wheels than the S-line (22-inch in diameter), heated rear seats, all-wheel steering, a panoramic sunroof, Alcantara head lining and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. However, the Vorsprung is significantly more expensive as it starts at £83,040. Currently, there is only one engine available in the Q8, no matter what trim you select: a 3-litre turbocharged diesel V6 with 282bhp. That, somehow, means it’s called a 50 TDI in Audi’s new, baffling naming convention. Image 3 of 22 Image 3 of 22 The bastion of the SUV coupe segment, the BMW X6, in xDrive30d specification, takes the fight to the new Q8. At £63,825 the BMW is slightly cheaper than the Audi, and with the help of 309bhp from its 3-litre in-line six it’s faster to 62mph, too. The BMW hits the target speed in 5.8sec compared to the Audi’s 6.3sec. The only diesel version of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, the 350d in Night Edition Trim, is comparable on price with the Audi and the BMW at £63,860, and it too has a turbocharged six-cylinder. But with 254bhp and a 0-62mph time of 7.0sec, it’s the slowest of the three. Away from the three main premium German manufacturers, there aren’t such obvious rivals. The Range Rover Sport doesn’t have the same pumped-up coupe-looks as the Q8, it’s more of a conventional SUV, but at £67,500 and with 302bhp from its 3-litre diesel V6 it’s comparable on paper. Performance and 0-60 time Although it’s far from a necessity for the Q8 to be fast, it’s a welcome treat to find that Audi’s new SUV is far from slow. From behind the steering wheel it’s more sprightly than you’d expect from a diesel 4x4, especially one that weighs 2145kg, and that’s reflected in its 0-62mph time of 6.3sec. The Q8’s top speed is not electronically limited to 155mph as it doesn’t quite reach that threshold, topping out at 152mph. The Q8’s 3-litre V6 puts out 282bhp over a very diesel-like 3500 to 4000rpm rev range. The benefit to being an oil burner is the vast amount of torque it produces; from 2250 to 3250rpm it makes 442lb ft. Engine and gearbox The Audi Q8’s 3-litre V6 turbo diesel engine is supplemented by a 48-volt belt-driven small electric motor mounted on the front of the engine. Its main use is to aid the diesel engine under load to reduce turbo lag, but it also acts as a starter motor to smooth out the car’s start/stop function and adds charge to the 48V sub-system’s lithium-ion battery. When it comes to actually reducing lag, though, it’s not entirely successful. Press the throttle below 2500rpm and there is a significant pause before the car responds and eventually surges forward. It isn’t any worse than you would reasonably expect from a diesel SUV, but the promise of less lag from the mild hybrid system and that the Q8’s engine is very responsive above 3000rpm, and the delay you get at low rpm is rather disappointing. As is the 5000rpm red line that the engine won’t rev to; instead the gearbox changes up automatically, whether you’re in manual mode or not, at 4900rpm. These are the only criticisms of the Q8’s drivetrain, though; its performance is more than adequate, it’s very smooth and refined, its eight-speed automatic gearbox makes almost seamless shifts, the quattro system distributes torque to all four wheels without any fuss, and if you get a hint of noise from the engine it’s actually rather pleasant – not the rattly diesel sound you might have anticipated. Ride and handling Lets get it out of the way first: the Q8 is not a thrilling driver’s car, it will not get the adrenalin rushing, you will not be in the slightest bit tempted to explore its limits of grip and you won’t want to tear down a country road. It is not a performance car, it is not an evo car. However, the driving experience is not completely devoid of satisfaction; there is something fulfilling about just how natural the Q8 feels, how easy it is to adapt to and how relaxing it is to pilot. Initially, however, the steering seems too light. When guiding such a vast car – the Q8 is 96mm wider than a Mercedes S-class and 16mm longer than a Land Rover Discovery – you often want the steering weight to be meaty and to reflect the car’s mass. Instead the Q8 requires city car levels of effort to turn the wheel and, what’s more, the Vorsprung with a rear-wheel-steer system is hyper alert to your inputs around most corners. But without resorting to the different driver modes, where you can increase the steering weight, you become accustomed to the light steering, how easy it is to operate and how responsive it is, very quickly. The rest of the car requires very little familiarisation, it’s all so instinctive. There’s none of the side-to-side wobble that’s so common on cars with air suspension and the chassis keeps the body under control so, despite its large dimensions, it’s easy to place the Q8 accurately. There’s never any need to worry about grip, either, in true Audi quattro fashion. Image 5 of 22 Image 5 of 22 Such tight control and limited body roll hasn’t had a detrimental effect on the car’s comfort. The Q8 rides in a very luxurious manner with the suspension smoothing out many of the road’s imperfections, the stiff shell resisting any annoying quivers or shakes, and the soft seats cosseting you from anything the chassis can’t deal with alone. The 21-inch wheels on the Vorsprung Edition also make very little difference to the way the car rides. Unlike the SQ7 Vorsprung, where the 21-inch wheels make it very harsh, the Q8 has taller sidewalls and the only noticeable change over the S-line car is at higher speeds on rough roads where it starts to get a little more bouncy. There’s no doubt about it, the Q8 has many physical attributes that mark it out as a luxury car – plush leather seats, a cavalcade of technology, shiny interior materials – but in reality none of those things are what make it feel luxurious. Even the comfortable and refined way in which it rides is only partly what makes it feel so premium, because, in reality, the ease at which you can navigate any sort of road with absolute confidence and minimal fuss is what makes this car so relaxing to drive. That’s true luxury. MPG and running costs The official MPG figures for the Q8 suggest that over 40mpg will be achievable on a combined run. With a careful right foot that may well be possible, but we only managed low-30s during our drive. That said, even our economy results are impressive for an SUV that weighs more than 2000kg. The Q8’s huge wheels may not have a detrimental effect on the car’s comfort levels, but it does on the cost of tyres. The 285/45 R21 Hankooks that are standard on the S-line are over £200, while tyres that size from other brands are at least twice as much. The 285/40 R22 Continental Sport Contact 6 tyres on the Vorsprung are over £300 each. Interior and tech We’re often quite enamoured with modern Audi interiors thanks to their clean design, quality materials and usable, well-integrated technology like the Virtual Cockpit. However, compared to its other SUVs – the Q7 and Q5 – the Q8 is another leap forward in design and technology. The main change is the addition of another touchscreen that sits ahead of the gear selector and reduces the need for a lot of physical buttons. Two touchscreens could add an unwelcome level of complexity and frustration, while the reduction in easy-to-identify-and-press buttons could add dangerous levels of distraction. However, the lower screen is customisable so you can add shortcuts to all the functions you use most frequently, making basic functions incredibly easy. There’s also an audible and haptic signal every time you select something on either screen, and although not a replacement for a real button, the feedback really does mean you can spend less time focussing on the screens. As well as the greater amount of tech, software and screens, the interior still looks as clean, fuss-free, modern and appealing as other Audi models, while the materials and finish are just as high-quality as ever. Image 13 of 22 Image 13 of 22 Design In pictures and in isolation, the Q8 looks quite wild. Its concept car-like proportions, its massive grille with its chunky frame and its sleek low roof, thanks to its frameless doors, give it huge impact when you first catch sight of it. However, once out on the road, it isn’t quite as distinctive and it blends in with the surrounding cars almost instantly. Now, depending on what sort of person you are, that could be a good or a bad thing. The Vorsprung’s big, 22-inch wheels really suit the Q8’s proportions and help it look more like the concept from last year that hinted at the final Q8. It also helps that the Audi Sport wheels, with their deep centres and delicate, trident-shaped spokes, are an appealing design. The Q8’s party trick is its lights. The columns of LEDs that make up its rear lights and front DLRs animate, creating patterns at all four corners of the car every time you lock and unlock it. It’s totally pointless, but there’s no doubt it adds a sense of occasion whenever you approach the Q8.  Image 10 of 22 Image 10 of 22 5 Sep 2018
