Finally got around to watching the-quidditch-documentry-that-shall-not-be-named and it was alright

at around the 47 minuet mark you can see Fred Quidditch by the way (still can see me tho, its a pretty good shot of Sean, and you can see Alex and Meaghan.  I was standing right next to meaghan and you cant see me but whatever)

idk if its just the day that i'm having but Alex Benepe just posted a link to an article about the quidditch documentary because Benepe and i are facebook friends? and i watched the trailer on their kickstarter and i got hit with ALL the quidditch feels 

and its footage from World Cup V so i might be in the background somewhere which is nice and like just, a lot of bullshit happened towards the end of my quidditch career but i've always said that none of that mattered because i still really love quidditch and thats still 100% tru and just everything that happened because of quidditch is a really defining point of my college life and the graduation feels that didnt hit for the past like... month or whatever, are hitting now and uuuuuuuuugh i cant handle this.

now if you'll excuse me i'm gonna go watch that quidditch family video i made like three years ago and cry.

 I want to talk about my quidditch life this semester.

To begin I love the Fredonia team but frankly our team has not been much of a team this year. Every time I tried to help out and make it so we could go to tournaments and play Quidditch (Because that is what I love to do)

I felt I was shot down and ridiculed.

I would love nothing more to be a part of the team I helped create and got to meets and tournaments and play Quidditch as a Fred Quidditch team member. But that wasn't happening.  We weren't playing but it felt like the team was turning their backs against something I worked to establish. 

My friends from the Quidditch community approached me when I was down, they embraced me with open arms, and invited me on their team & gave me the chance to play the game I love and see the wonderful people that I have met through Quidditch. Some of my best friends in the world. 

That was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

When I felt like my team was abandoning me my Quidditch friends took me in, do I wish that wasn't the case yes, but I cannot change what happened.

Syracuse became a second family. They let me play, they hugged me when I cried, and in the end I care about them just as much as the team I founded.

just sent my last ever quidditch related email (...as president...)

this might be a sappy "i love quidditch" post...feel free to disregard completely.

First semester freshman year Meaghan and I were watching AVPS and during the quidditch dance scene we started talking about how college quidditch is a real thing, and then decided to start a team here.  we looked up what we needed to do and made a facebook page right there, and started trying to make it a thing.  Along with out then-friend Heather, Meaghan and I started Fredonia Quidditch, from this point on just about any time I say "I" or "me" or "us" or any variation of that I'm talking about "Meaghan and I"

at first the school didn't aprove us as a club because there was another club on campus that, among other things was going to have quidditch, and after a couple of conversations with the president of that club he told us that we could be the quidditch club on campus probably in part because we already had one successful game under our belt before we were scheduled to go infront of the student association and they eventually approved us.

by second semester freshman year Will and Kevin were team captains and we were having regular practices and starting to take ourself pretty seriously.  then this past fall we went to the World Cup and ended up 7th in our division.  

I choose to not run for president (or rather co-president) again to focus on school work, but I really dont know what college is without quidditch, I started it after probably less then a month (Meaghan remembers the date, I cant right now wich is sad but whatever).  I'm obviously still like, in quidditch, I'll still play and everything like that, but its just a little weird.

I can think of so many different times where people have thanked me for starting quidditch here. for helping to create this community and a venue for people to meet their best friends and giving them a reason to be happy about school, or an escape from the shit they have to go through in their lives.  I'm ridiculously proud of what I've helped to create and terribly humbled by the passion in which people talk about my team.  I know the new eboard is going to do a fantastic job and I'm still here if they need anything but it's going to be horribly weird next semester when I dont start off the first week with running around trying to figure out a place to store our hoops and filling out a fresh set of paperwork for SA and all the other things that need doing at the start of every semester.  

just wanted to have a quick record of my feelings at the moment.  so there was that.

today was a quidditch day

up at 6:30.  in the car at 7:30.  in geneseo by 10ish

played SUNY Geneseo 90-40 (them)

played Syracuse 150-30 (us)

played Nazareth and it got to about 40-0 (us) but then Nazareth's Keeper got really badly injured and the game had to be called pretty quickly :( it was a great game, he's apparently gonna be ok so thats good, but it wasn't a fun moment. 

then we went into the brackets against Edinboro 60-20 (us)

then got nocked out by Geneseo (again) 80-30 (i think...)

...then we went to taco bell

but it was a great day and we played well :) only a few minor injurys, two yellow cards ...and one red card. 

bed now.

I think I have more video of us playing extreme ping pong then of us playing quidditch.

when we host our tournament, we should really teach the other teams how to play extreme pingpong though, cause its pretty bad ass
