Jip is a Dutch veterinarian who is looking for a job change in a country that is not her own. She is fleeing from her past and needs a fresh start. However, nothing has prepared her for Thranduil King, who owns a ranch not far from her veterinary clinic in Pendleton, Oregon. He can't stand her at first, until she shows him that she won't let herself be bullied by him. Everything changes for both of them from that moment onwards. Unfortunately Jip carries a tonne of insecurities and suffers from a very low self-esteem. Thranduil manages to help her deal with them, though with some difficulty. For the first time in a long time, they both seem to have found the kind of happiness that has been a stranger to them both, until Jip's past catches up with her and it will cost her and Thranduil dearly. But dealing with the past is not as easy as they think, as they will find out. There will unexpected surprises around many corners and a few twists along the way. Will Jip and Thranduil ever find their 'happy ever after?' There is only one way to find out.
