I wish Neelix had come back to earth with everyone because I think it would be so funny if he met T’Pel and the two of them hit it off instantly.

Make a new home! #Voyager should come back to the alpha quadrant like WE'VE GOT NEW FEDERATION MEMBERS!!!! #T'Pel likes Neelix and Tom and does NOT trust Chakotay for some reason #T'Pel immediately invites Neelix to stay at their house while Tuvok telepathically goes 'no no no no reconsider reconsider reconsider' #and Neelix gets a BIG FAMILY experience once again...!! #(Tuvok's entire family comes to see him and this strange alien he brought home) #also just in general I dislike this certain theme in Star Trek which says 'You belong with your group' #like - Neelix can't go to earth/the alpha quadrant bc he #has to stay with his 'group' the talaxians #there are other episodes/characters who fall into this at times too ... idk how to describe it but it bugs me

As promised, here's the second part of Basics!

I perhaps should have mentioned this in Part I, but by the end of that the original senior staff have been set adrift in a disabled shuttle and the holoimaging systems are taken out.

This part would pick up two days later. Denara Pel has been made the new CMO and has restored Madra's true appearance in spite of her own protestations that she barely even knows what a Cardassian looks like. Meanwhile, Simon Tarses is working on repairing the holoimaging systems.

It turns out that a small section of the crew, led by Ro Laren (driven both by her desire for revenge on the woman she thought was her friend and by the fact that she'd rather die in the Delta Quadrant than get home on a Cardassian ship) is planning yet another mutiny. The group includes Ro, Neelix, the remaining sickbay staff, probably Tuvix, and Hogan (who deeply regrets backing a Cardassian). (Suder is still in his quarters with his plants and he's very happy there thank you very much.)

The group made contact with the Talaxians, who managed to pick up the shuttle and aid in the retaking of Voyager much like in canon. There's a bit more than that but I would actually like to write this someday and it would probably come across better in actual story format than this.

Seska still dies. Suder does not because he's staying the hell away from all this. Leave him alone with his hydroponics project.

Also the episode is probably not a two-parter.
