Rolling Stone ranking Bob Dylan as a better singer than Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Etta James, Smokey Robinson, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Karen Carpenter, Jeff Buckley, Barbra Streisand, and many, many more has got to be some sort of hate crime.

#my thoughts #I'm not one of those 'Bob Dylan's voice is unlistenable and terrible' people #I agree with Rolling Stone's little blurb! #yeah it IS expressive and unique! it has character! #but like COME ON #you know who else has a distinct and unique voice with lots of character? #Louis Armstrong #Stevie Nicks #Etta James #etc #and they all sound so so so much better than Bob Dylan #in what fucking universe is Bob Dylan a better vocalist than Elvis? #make it make sense #he should be assessed in the same way Lou Reed's voice is assessed #I've seen some people get mad about Lennon being ranked higher than McCartney #but I really don't care about that #that specific distinction is way too subjective honestly and on a list that highly values unique vocal character I see why John comes first #McCartney fans should just be basking in the glow of Rolling Stone saying he was a better songwriter in 2015 #but this Bob Dylan thing made me mad #I am particularly mad about Marvin Gaye cause that man’s voice is simply incredible
