hobi has said though that he wanted to handle everything personally? im confused about what kind of promo you want. there’s been stuff on youtube, tiktok, ig, he has a whole spread/cover on w korea, now he’s going to lollapalooza, everything’s been done short of going on music shows. you can’t expect there to be dynamite/butter lvl of promos bc a singular artist simply cannot handle that. every update of his since and before jitb dropped has been him shuttered in the company practicing, joon has said so too, plus hobi’s getting some sort of playlisting and a us store? the fact that the store was only available later into the week was mishandled by the company, everything else is that i’d rather hobi not be overworked for the sake of doing quote unquote promo.
ok i think you’re missunderstanding what i mean by promo. im not asking hoseok to work himself into the ground trying to meet the same level or number of performances as a bts comeback. in fact i think a lot of hoseoks energy could be saved if he wasn’t the one doing 90% of just the basic promotion leading up to the album. hoseok has only spoken about having handled the creative direction of the album. anything involving marketing, distribution, or promotion is managed by hybe/bighit and something he generally has less say in. it’s literally there job at the very least to be clear and consistent with the information they’re sharing and boosting about, yes a soloist, but a member of their most consistently profitable act.
we did not get a released schedule with dates and times for teasers like they would do for anything else leaving people wondering when the hell we’re getting news. they alluded to music show promotions which didn’t happen and should have been clear to not happen from the beginning. they alluded to physical album releases which we are not getting and which should have been clear. none of the tracks were made available to radio stations. more didn’t get a youtube premiere. his us store didnt open until the other day. they were incredibly vague about both the official release date and the weverse albums. this is just off the top of my head and these are all things that could have been done without hoseok being involved. yet instead they ended up wasting his time and energy leaving him to do most of the promotion on his own, limiting himself to people who already follow him which defeats the whole point of the album and how he wanted it to be interacted with based on his w korea interview. it’s not about him not getting the same traction as group promotions. it’s literally just the basics that they’ve forgone either due to a total lack of competence and organization or deliberately.
