“Felix, come here?”

Anders heard Caleb from the other room (he was just finishing up things with his boss) and stood. “Okay.” His mind was still in work mode. Ever since Caleb discovered the whole underground sex trade disguised as an art auction, things really picked up at the NYC branch of the agency. Anders hasn’t had any time to spend with Caleb, always telling him to go enjoy himself in the city, he’ll join him later, but in the end he never did and would be too tired to do anything else that night. This was the first day that Caleb didn’t go out. He stayed out of Anders’ way, allowing  him to work, but he’s been so quiet that Anders almost forgot he was still there until he called out.

“What’s up? Do you need anything?” Anders stood in the doorway with his head tilted slightly. Caleb was sitting at the edge of the bed biting his lip. It was... that look. And suddenly Anders realized just how much he’d been neglecting Caleb with work (even though he said this was a business trip). He didn’t wait for Caleb to answer and was at his side. Caleb rest his head against the other’s shoulder.

“I got you something yesterday, but couldn’t give it to you because... well, you know...”

Stab! Anders’ chest felt like it had been run through with the sharpest of blades. “You didn’t have to-”

Caleb already had a small box in his hands and was pushing it into Anders’. Anders took it and looked up at Caleb before unwrapping and opening it. Inside was a beautiful watch fob, gold and inlaid with diamonds.

Anders opened his mouth the protest, it must have cost Caleb a fortune, when the other spoke first. “I know you have work to do and this is a trip you have to make for work and it’s not my place to disturb you or anything, but...” 

“Caleb, you’re not-”

Caleb held up his hand. “But I really appreciate you letting me come with. I wanted to get you something as a thanks that isn’t um... physical or anything...~” He blushed and Anders could still see the faint mark he left on him two nights ago. His face turned red too. “I hope you like it..~”

Anders still had his superior on the other line in the lounge room, waiting for the final details for the case. Instead of going back to do so, he tilted Caleb’s chin up towards him and kissed his lips gently. “I’m going to take you out tonight, wherever you want to go. Whatever you want to do. Just you and me.. I promise..” He kissed him again, drawing a soft whine from Caleb’s lips. 

“O-okay...”
