Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I'm currently outlining the "Anzu as Yami's bodyguard" fic you gave me the green light to write! I just wanted to run an idea by you. Not sure if this scenario fits this particular story or another one, but I BADLY want to write Anzu calling out Weevil on his s**t during the duel on top of the train. Just like, "you're lying! You don't have Yugi's soul card!" and like, she lists reasons from canon why he certainly isn't trustworthy. "No way in hell Dartz would EVER entrust a prize like Yugi's soul to a lowly worm like you!" Then Yami is like, "hey wait a minute, she's absolutely right!" And proceeds to still go all Berserker Soul on Weevil's sorry behind. I'm just not entirely sure if it fits in this story of picking up the pieces that are of sad!Yami, but I am having the story start before the gang is forced to split. Your call.

I could also buy anzu being less encouraging of yami to duel and more like PLEASE get off the roof of the train car, yugi weighs like 120 lbs, you’re gonna fling right off!!! Just constantly telling yami to bail before weevil plays the you-know-what-card and then desperately scrabbling onto to the roof when yami starts zoning out with berserker soul like for the love of GOD STOP IT!!!!! !!!!

Bonus points if she feels the train wobbling dangerously on the tracks before yami does and tries calling to him as she’s fighting again the winds and he’s not hearing her. Bonus BONUS points if yami, post-being flung off train (and both injured bc how tf do you fall off a cliff on a train w/o serious injuries) finally apologizes to anzu for not realizing that she’s basically having to cancel out his shit self-care decisions while he’s STILL in yugi’s body and shouldn’t be sacrificial.
