I think a lot about how Hunter had their chance of living stripped away from them To me, they grieve this a lot.

I know it's not canon but I like headcanoning that Hunter passed through Gourmand's colony in the way to Pebbles/Moon - and they really wanted to be able to live with them, the others from their kind... but that was never a real option, not even after finishing their duty
