#( replaying mota to make gifs and refresh my memory of certain details and bc i don't usually take fenris #i never thought about the latter exchange as an interesting contrast until recently. #i've talked at length about it before but carver's dialogue with fenris is directly informed by the fact carver has learned #through his upbringing in an apostate-majority family #that the best way to live - or survive‚ more aptly put - is to lay low‚ don't stir up trouble‚ and keep your loved ones safe. #fenris brushes off the advice because‚ obviously‚ carver doesn't 1) understand the intricacies of his status as an escaped slave and #2) doesn't realize that ''safety'' might not be everyone's end goal in life. #BUT. but but but. fenris also offers a very similar suggestion to hawke. because fenris cares about hawke. #and‚ like carver‚ fenris wants hawke to look out for themself. wants them to be safe. #and hawke may rebut something very akin to what fenris gets to in his banter with carver. #i may dig up my old carver + fenris meta and make additions because the more i revisit da2 and switch up my choices #the more i realize there's still material to analyze! ) #( miscellaneous ╱ outofchara. ) #( also sorry for the silence here i have been v busy! #but good news is i have accepted a new job‚ so i'm that much more prepared for my partner and i's big move next month! )
