Tomato tunnel !
Black verrnissage cherry tomatoes (thanks @therestlesswitch for seeds!) offer some shade to lettuce underneath which is helpful for summertime growing !

Ahhh hot and bell peppers ! This year is an amazing pepper year thanks to a really hot June, this month has been mild but the peppers still look better than they have ever been… will this be the first year I harvest a red pepper ?!?! Paired with New Zealand Spinach (Tetragonia tetragonoides) which is suppose to be a summer green as it’s less prone to bolt then other spinach. I’m a big fan it’s really good, has more of a crisp texture than spinach does, flavor is just like mache. Only have eaten it fresh so far but it would cook up good as well.

First and second planting of brassicas, going to harvest the first heads of cabbage today. My broccoli isn’t heading as nice as usual and has seemed to put more growth into leaf structure…maybe a nutrient imbalance but we’ll see how they do.

Pretty squash flowers, nasturtiums, and calendula
Not pictured tomato ally is becoming over run by giant tomatillos. I might have to cut some of them back to get more sun for the tomatoes behind them. But lots of fruit on everything which is very exciting because we usually pick most of our tomatoes underripe and in September… The potatoes are ravaged by potato beetles so not sure how they will produce… beets and carrots are doing alright. I’m using sonic mole/vole repelling stakes so hoping to pull up some good roots, I also planted a lot of turnips but I’m not quite sure how I’m going to use them they aren’t a usual for us… Garlic to be harvested first week of August and fall greens will be planted in their place, I have a bunch of starts waiting to go in! Oh and the corn, beans, squash, cucumbers are out of control ahh it’s kind of a mess but so it goes.
