I watched guardians of the galaxy today

and while yes I now see why people have feels about youndo overall it wasnt a great movie? Like the plot was ok and the theme of found family was awesome but the dialogue was awful. Especially Drax's and all the "romantic" speeches and it really made it hard to enjoy. Drax was genuinely funny in the last movie. And that came from him completely missing any metaphorical language. But this movie ALL his jokes were him laughing way too loudly at other people's misfortunes which really isnt funny. You could have had great dialouge with mantis about translating the humans jokes but no. Though by the end their relationship wasnt bad. Also his sex jokes? Like really this is a kids movie. Sure drop in one or two stuble ones but he had way too many. Though i did kinda like the scene where his like wtf with you earthlings hangups about sex. But the bit where he gaggs at the idea of sex with mantis? Unnecessary and a little gross. Ok you could argue the dialogue is far more realistic than most movies of this genre what woth them not sticking to the point but I felt the jokes could have been replaced with ones that were actually funny And ive seen other posts anout this but Peter's treatment of Glamora was terrrible. SHE SAID NO LEAVE HER ALONE. Even if it was just dancing. Consent applies outside of sec too. I think they might have been mirroring peter and Ego but even so can we have some mutal respect and unforced romance?? And one last thing, Its only small but as a trans kid who picked his own name the whole joke about laughing at taserface feel flat. Propably cos ive stressed over that same situation but still DONT LAUGH AT PEOPLES NAMES, JUST DONT. And if you are trying to send up toxic masculinity then you need to do a better job. Though thats probably too deep a thought about that throw away joke. So yeah. Plenty of stuff to like and dislike. I feel it could have had a LOT of Minor changes and it would have been 10x better. Also i now see why people ship kaglrin or whatever his name is with youndu. Even if he looks to me more like peters age wjich makes it a little weird but oh well. Theres a LOT of subtext there more than I was expecting.

#ok so to me it seemed more like karglin was like a second son to youndu or a younger brother #if he was a little older and maybe had a higher rank in the ship i could so see them as partners/lovers #though the fan art and fic ive seen all seem to give the impression that he was youndus 2iC #which isnt what i saw in the movie #but who cares not me #well not much #i speak #i shpuld go read all that meta i saved about the movie #but sleep first ok brain in the morning you can do that
