!!! a cricket plush finally showed up!!! 🦗

#crow.txt #insect mention / #sometimes crickets get into our apartment and we don’t find them until it’s too cold to let them outside again #so i take care of them through the winter and let them live out their natural days #we haven’t found any in a couple years which is good for the crickets #bc that means they didn’t emerge from the ground too soon #they’ve always been nymphs (not yet adults) which means they were supposed to overwinter in the ground and emerge as adults in the spring #i’ve yet to catch an adult fall cricket trying to stay alive through the winter #a fall cricket wouldn’t be big enough to accidentally emerge too soon i don’t think #anyways so far as i can tell there’s only been one cricket plush manufactured and usually it goes for like $60 which isn’t happening #but this one showed up for $14 with free shipping and the sound even works!! #i’ve been keeping an eye out for years so i’m excited to finally find one #i miss my crickets so it’ll be nice to have a reminder of them
