I realised I haven't ranted about any movie for a long while so please have a childhood fave. 'Taare Zameen Par'- It's about a kid who loves to draw but performs poorly at academics. He is sent off to a boarding school as punishment (is this punishment just Indian or happens elsewhere too?) where his new art teacher figures out he is dyslexic and helps him. This movie has a lot of emotional moments and made me misty-eyed as a kid and still has the same effect. (Don't worry I am an over emotional kid.)

First some incoherent thoughts I had while watching the movie. (I did it with the Merlin episode yesterday an I liked it so I am gonna do it again today)

Nice title sequence. I dig it. It's not boring as the 99.9% of title sequences so cheers to that.

Okay and after that incoherent mess I have to say. Amazing film. I was hooked form start to finish (and it was a 2h42min film) . Loved the subject matter. The boy was an amazing actor. And Aamir Khan was great as always.

Fun fact : The word "dyslexia" basically comes form dys / δυσ (which means bad) and lexis / λέξη (which means word ) so it can basically be translated as "bad with words"

(this come from my pretty basic knowledge of ancient greek so it might not be 10000% accurate)

Finally to answer you question. Idk about elsewhere but I haven't heard of greek boarding schools. I dont think we have that here. And def not as a punishment.
